Monkstown (Irish: Baile na Manach) is a townland (of 811 acres) and electoral ward in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is within the urban area of Newtownabbey and the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area. The townland was previously called Ballynamanagh (from Irish Baile na Manach 'townland of the monks') It is also situated in the civil parish of Carnmoney and the historic barony of Belfast Lower.Monkstown is said to be the burial place of Fergus Mor Mac Eirc, king of Dal Riata. which suggests a religious house was established in the 5th century CE. It possibly became a grange- a farm that was managed by a monastery, and was possibly associated with the monastery at Woodburn in Carrickfergus.

It had a population of 6,225 in the 2011 census, with an average age of 40.Jordanstown includes a University of Ulster campus, a bowling club, a few schools and shops. It also has a beach and seafront park area called Loughshore Park, which hosts various events throughout the year including the three-day Loughshore Festival over the last weekend in August. The park sits on the shore of Belfast Lough.

Bleach Green is a railway junction located in Newtownabbey where the Belfast to Larne railway line diverges from the Belfast to Derry route. The Bleach Green Junction is the only burrowing junction in the whole of Ireland.

Bleach Green (also known as Bleach Green Halt) is a former station operated by Northern Ireland Railways in the village of Whiteabbey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The station sat near the viaducts at the junction of the Belfast-Larne railway line and Belfast-Derry railway line, but only had platforms on the Larne Line tracks. It closed to passengers in 1977 when NIR services were cut back. Today, owing to later development work and track relaying, little trace of the station remains aside from space in the trackside vegetation where the platforms once were.

Whiteabbey (Irish: An Mhainistir Fhionn) is a townland (of 406 acres) in Newtownabbey, north of Belfast in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.The original village of Whiteabbey stood at the foot of the Three Mile Water, on the shore of Belfast Lough. In 1958, it and six other villages were joined to form the new district of Newtownabbey. Whiteabbey is part of the civil parish of Carnmoney and the historic barony of Belfast Lower.

The A2 is a major road in Northern Ireland, a considerable length of which is often referred to the Antrim Coast Road because much of it follows the scenic coastline of County Antrim; other parts of the road follow the coasts in Counties Down and Londonderry. Belfast High School (BHS) is a co-educational voluntary grammar school in Jordanstown, Newtownabbey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was established in 1854 and is within the North Eastern Region of the Education Authority. In May 2007, it was awarded Specialist Status in Languages and in March 2012, it has been recognised as one of only six post-primary schools in Northern Ireland to be in the top 10% for performance at both GCSE and A-level.

Whiteabbey Hospital is a hospital located close to the village of Whiteabbey, within the town of Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. The hospital first opened in 1907 as The Abbey Sanitorium, centred around a country house known as 'The Abbey'. The house has stood on the site from 1850, and was once the residence of prominent architect Charles Lanyon. The hospital was extended and several buildings added throughout the early 20th century, and it was renamed Whiteabbey Hospital in 1947. The hospital is managed by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. Many healthcare services have been withdrawn from the hospital, most recently with the closure of the Minor Injuries Unit in 2014.

Greenisland was a cricket ground in Greenisland, Northern Ireland, used first by Greenisland Cricket Club, and then by Cliftonville Cricket Club from 1990 to 2007. Since 2008, the owners of the ground, Greenisland War Memorial Sports Club, replaced the cricket pitch with artificial hockey pitch and it has ceased to be a cricket venue.The first recorded match on the ground was in 1967, when the Northern Cricket Union played an Ireland Development XI. In 2005, the ground hosted a List A match in the 2005 ICC Trophy between Bermuda and Denmark, which resulted in 93 run victory for Bermuda.

Newtownabbey (Irish: Baile na Mainistreach [ˈbˠalʲə n̪ˠə ˈmˠanʲəʃtʲɾʲəx]) is a large settlement north of Belfast city centre in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is separated from the rest of the city by Cavehill and Fortwilliam golf course, but it still forms part of the Belfast metropolitan area. It surrounds Carnmoney Hill, and was formed from the merging of several small villages including Whiteabbey, Glengormley and Carnmoney. At the 2011 census, Metropolitan Newtownabbey Settlement had a population of 65,646, making it the third largest settlement in Northern Ireland. It is part of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
