Saint Joseph's University

Sweeney Field (previously called Finnesey Field) is a multi-use sports facility on the Saint Joseph's University campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which opened in 1929 and was originally planned to be the centerpiece to a 70,000 seat football stadium in the natural bowl of the campus. In 1960, both the original grandstand and hillside seating were eliminated for the construction of Villiger (now Post) Building/Bluett Theater. That construction necessitated raising the field's level some five feet above its earlier location. In 1990, the facility's usage was greatly expanded with the installation of artificial turf. That expansion continued in 1994 when lights were added. During the summer of 2001, the Field received a facelift when new turf was installed. More recently, bleachers were built into the hill closest to Barbelin Hall and on either end of the field. During the summer of 2008, the field was resurfaced with a FIFA approved surface called TigerTurf, and the track was completely resurfaced. The field will play host to men's and women's soccer and men's and women's lacrosse. The women's field hockey team played its last season on Finnesey Field in 2007. They open on a new playing surface on the Maguire Campus in 2009.In 2014, the field was home field for the Philadelphia Spinners of Major League Ultimate for two games. Both games resulted in wins over the Boston Whitecaps. They were two of the highest attended games for the Spinners that season. 2015 boasted a new scoreboard for the field; with added information such as player number and foul counter. The new scoreboard is located to the left of the original one. Overall, the site has seen 1,053 games entering the 2008–09 academic year, and SJU teams put together a total record of 493-518-42 in 79 years.

The Erivan K. Haub School of Business is the business school of Saint Joseph's University, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1927, the school was named in honor of noted German businessman Erivan Haub in 1988 in recognition of his long-time financial support of business programs at the university.

The Michael J. Hagan Arena (previously known as the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse) of Saint Joseph's University is SJU's home court for Men's and Women's basketball. The new arena seats 4,200 which is 1,000 more than the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse seated. The renovation adds a concourse, larger offices and locker rooms, a Hall of Fame room, study rooms, basketball center, and practice facilities. 700 seats were added to the student section which puts the total at 1,700 and makes this part of the arena even more intimidating for opposing teams.

The Arboretum of the Barnes Foundation (5 ha / 12 acres) is an arboretum and the former site of the Barnes Foundation art gallery located at 300 North Latch's Lane, Merion, Pennsylvania with entrance at 50 Lapsley Lane. Since 2018 the adjacent Saint Joseph's University has managed the Arboretum and its educational programs under a lease agreement with the Foundation. Now known as the Barnes Arboretum at Saint Joseph's University, the arboretum is open to visitors Monday through Friday when the University is open, but for walk-in visitors only. From May through the end of October, the Arboretum is open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free parking in their lot. Admission is free and no tickets or reservations required.The arboretum was begun in the 1880s by Captain Joseph Lapsley Wilson. The site was purchased by the Barnes Foundation in 1922, whereupon Wilson became the arboretum's director and a foundation trustee until his death in 1928. Over time, the arboretum has expanded its collection to over 3,000 species/varieties of woody plants, a herbarium housing 10,000 specimens, and a library of some 2,500 volumes. The arboretum school was established in 1940. The arboretum contains good collections of Aesculus, Cotoneaster, Cornus, crab apples, ornamental ferns, lilac, Lonicera, Magnolia, peony, Quercus, Phellodendron, Rhododendron, Stewartia, and Viburnum, as well as notable specimens of Ginkgo biloba, Calocedrus decurrens, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Sequoia sempervirens, and Trochodendron aralioides. Other plants of interest include Araucaria araucana, Davidia involucrata, andParrotia persica. It also contains a formal rose and perennial garden, woodland, lawns, pond, stream, and a greenhouse (reconstructed in 2002) containing about 250 varieties of plants.

The Mosque of Shaikh M. R. Bawa Muhaiyaddeen is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the grounds of the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship. The building of the mosque took 6 months and was done by the members of the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship under the direction of M. R. Bawa Muhaiyaddeen. It was completed by May 1984, two years before his death in 1986. The official opening and dedication took place on May 27, 1984.The liturgical prayers follow the Hanafi tradition.The mosque provides activities similar to other Islamic mosques including the five daily Islamic prayers (salat), Jum'ah prayers every Friday, and classes in Arabic, Qur'an recitation, Salat and Islam. Unique to the mosque is the practice of early morning dhikr recitation (remembrance of God) using the practice instituted by Bawa Muhaiyaddeen.

The Lower Merion Library System (LMLS) is the public library system of the township of Lower Merion, in Pennsylvania. It is among the largest public library systems in Pennsylvania. While Lower Merion accounts for 7% of the population of Montgomery County, it accounts for 20% of its library circulation. The library is ranked in the top 2% of public libraries for circulation per capita.

The French International School of Philadelphia (French: École française internationale de Philadelphie, EFIP) is a French international school in Bala Cynwyd, Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania within the Delaware Valley. As of 1993 it is the only full French bilingual educational program in Pennsylvania. It serves grades PreK-8.

Kohelet Yeshiva High School (Hebrew: ישיבת קהלת) is a Modern Orthodox college preparatory Jewish high school that offers a dual curriculum program of Judaic and General Studies for both boys and girls in Merion, Pennsylvania in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Temple Adath Israel of the Main Line (Hebrew: עדת ישראל) is a Conservative synagogue located in Merion, Pennsylvania with 800 families. The synagogue offers religious services, pre-school, Hebrew Sunday school, adult education, and community programming. It was founded in 1946 and moved to its current location in 1953. Eric Yanoff has served as senior rabbi since 2010.

Wynnestay or Wynnstay is a historic house, one of the oldest extant houses in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The two-and-a-half-story house was first built in 1689 as the residence of Dr. Thomas Wynne, Pennsylvania founder William Penn's personal physician and first Speaker of the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly.The land surrounding Wynnestay was developed starting about 1895 with the encouragement of Pennsylvania Railroad President George B. Roberts, and the building of the nearby Wynnefield Station. The house was extensively renovated in 1904, with the addition of a large ell designed by Walter Smedley.The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. The home is available for touring by appointment only.

Wynnefield is a diverse middle-class neighborhood in West Philadelphia. Its borders are 53rd Street at Jefferson to the south, Philadelphia's Fairmount Park to the east, City Avenue (commonly referred to as "City Line") to the north and the Amtrak Main Line tracks to the west. Surrounding neighborhoods include Bala Cynwyd to the north, Wynnefield Heights and Belmont Village to the east, Parkside to the south, and Overbrook to the west. Its main commercial arteries are North 54th Street, Bryn Mawr Avenue (2200 block), and City Avenue. It is the home of the television station WPHL-TV (MY PHL 17).

Dimner Beeber Middle School was a historic middle school located in the Wynnefield neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1931–1932. It is a three-story, 15 bay, brick building on a stone basement in the Classical Revival-style. It features a projecting center section and projecting end bays, projecting brick pilasters with stone bases and caps, moulded cornice, and balustraded parapet.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.Since 2013, the building has been shared with the Science Leadership Academy at Beeber, the second branch of the Science Leadership Academy. The high school focuses on science and technology.
