Palm Center Transit Center is a light rail station in Houston, Texas on the METRORail system. It is the terminus of the Purple Line and is located on Griggs Road near Beekman Road in the Palm Center neighborhood. Palm Center Transit Center opened to light rail service on May 23, 2015.

It is served by the Purple Line, and is located in the median of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Old Spanish Trail near MacGregor Park. SugarHill Recording Studios is a recording studio in Houston, Texas. The studio was important in launching the careers of such artists as Lightnin' Hopkins, The Big Bopper, George Jones, the Sir Douglas Quintet, Roy Head, and Freddy Fender. It is renowned for its collection of vintage recording equipment, reverb chamber rooms, EMT plates and a long history of music. A landmark in the Houston music community, SugarHill celebrated its 69th year of operation in October 2011. Founded in October 1941 by Bill Quinn under the name Quinn Recording, it is the oldest continuously operating studio in the United States. In 1950 Quinn changed the name of the studio to Gold Star Studios. Huey P Meaux took control in the early 1970s, and gave the studio its current name.

The Baylor Teen Health Clinic, also known as the Baylor College of Medicine Teen Health Clinic, is a network of nine clinics located in Houston, Texas. Established in 1968, initially as a maternity program for teens, the Baylor Teen Health Clinic now offers comprehensive reproductive health and family planning care at free or low-cost to males and females ages 13–25. The clinic also provides general health counseling as well as prenatal care and postpartum training to teen-age boys and girls. It is bordered by the 610 Loop, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Bellfort Boulevard, and Mykawa Road.Dana Milbank of The Washington Post said in 2001 that a portion of Southcrest has "dilapidated houses, empty lots and pocked streets."In 2006, prices of houses ranged from $30,000 to $84,000. Carissa D. Lamkahouan of the Houston Chronicle said in 2007 that "prices have remained reasonable" because Southcrest is south of the 610 Loop. In 2006 20 homes sold in Southcrest. Of them, 20% were foreclosures. Matt Swift, owner of Swift & Co. Realty, said that many foreclosures occurred because many of Southcrest's residents were lower-middle and middle income households who were unable to afford home ownership and/or ancillary expenses that came with home ownership.In 2007, Lamkahouan said that a surge in homebuilding in the community occurred due to its proximity to major freeways such as the 610 Loop and Texas State Highway 288 and an abundance of vacant lots. LaRence Snowden, a realtor at Womack Development Investments, said "Carissa D. Lamkahouan of the Houston Chronicle said that the community "is hot right now. There is a lot of new home building going on, and if you drive the neighborhood there are still [6,000-square-foot (560 m2), 7,000-square-foot (650 m2)] lots available."

Pine Valley is a neighborhood in Houston, Texas, located at the crossing of I-45 and the 610 South Loop and ends at Long Drive. It is the 3rd Biggest Super-Neighborhood Of Southeast Houston. It is divided into two territories by a railroad located at Griggs St.

UH South/University Oaks is a light rail station in Houston, Texas, on the Purple Line of the METRORail system. It is on Wheeler Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on the south side of the University of Houston campus by University Oaks. UH South/University Oaks station opened on May 23, 2015.

Jones Futures Academy, previously Jesse H. Jones High School, is a public high school in South Park, Houston, Texas, United States. It has Dual Credit Magnet Program with emphasis in Health Sciences and Petroleum Engineering. Students who maintain the course of the entire program would graduate high school in May/June of their Sr. year and will have the ability to receive an associate degree in August following their graduation in one of their offered degree programs. Jones, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Houston Independent School District. Jones was named after Jesse Holman Jones. As of 2010 Empowerment South Early College High School is located on the Jones campus. As of 2014 Milby High School students in grades 10-12 were housed in this campus.

South Early College High School (SECHS), formerly Empowerment South Early College High School and Empowerment College Preparatory High School, is a college-preparatory high school in Houston, Texas, US. It is a part of the Houston Independent School District. It was previously located on the campus of Albert Thomas Middle School and then at Jones High School The school opened in August 2005. Empowerment merged with South Early College High School in 2010.Its current location, at 1930 Airport Boulevard, is on the South Campus of Houston Community College began construction in 2014 and opened in August 2016.The school offers its students the opportunity to earn an associate degree while concurrently achieving a high school degree.

Moody Towers are twin 18-story high-rise residence halls located in the Wheeler District on the campus of the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, United States. It was named for William Lewis Moody, Jr. and his wife Libbie Shearn Moody of Galveston, Texas, and houses 1,100 students. The towers also house the largest dining hall on the campus.A mass shooting from atop Moody Towers was prevented when police arrested Albert J. Russell, Jr. in 1972. Russell, who was not a student, was trespassing on university property around the sixth anniversary of the mass shootings at the University of Texas at Austin, and attempted to go atop one of the towers with a loaded M14 rifle and a loaded .22 Long Rifle. Upon arrest, he told police he would've shot people had he been allowed on the rooftop.
