Voorhees Township Public Schools

Voorhees Township is a township in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 29,131, reflecting an increase of 1,005 (+3.6%) from the 28,126 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 3,567 (+14.5%) from the 24,559 counted in the 1990 Census. Voorhees is a New Jersey suburb in the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. Voorhees Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 1, 1899, from portions of Waterford Township. Portions of the township were taken on March 8, 1924, to form Gibbsboro.The township is named for Foster McGowan Voorhees, the Governor of New Jersey who authorized its creation.

Eastern Regional High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school for students in ninth through twelfth grades from Berlin Borough, Gibbsboro and Voorhees Township, three communities in Camden County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Eastern Camden County Regional High School District. The high school is located in Voorhees Township.As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,926 students and 138.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.0:1. There were 114 students (5.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 23 (1.2% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Eastern Intermediate High School was a public high school that served students in grades nine to ten from three communities in Camden County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Eastern Camden County Regional High School District. The school served students from Berlin Borough, Gibbsboro and Voorhees Township. The high school was located in Voorhees Township. In the past students that finished tenth grade moved on to Eastern High School, (now renamed Eastern Regional High School) for eleventh and twelfth grades. The district was established in 1965, with 35 professional staff and 495 students, and Eastern Intermediate High School was completed in 1992. As of the 2009-10 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,063 students and 61 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.92:1. Eastern has a multi-cultural and diverse population with 68.5% White, 14.5% Asian, 9.8% African-American and 4.0% Latino. As a comprehensive secondary school, Eastern was accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education. The average academic class size was 24. Daily student attendance averaged more than 92.5% and the annual dropout rate was less than 2%.

The Gibbsboro School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Gibbsboro, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising one school, had an enrollment of 273 students and 26.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.3:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. Gibbsboro is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 2,274, reflecting a decline of 161 (-6.6%) from the 2,435 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 52 (+2.2%) from the 2,383 counted in the 1990 Census.Gibbsboro was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 8, 1924, from portions of Voorhees Township, based on the results of a referendum held on April 11, 1924. The borough was named for the Gibbs family, early settlers from 1706 for whom the area's post office was named when it was established in 1883.

Stafford Farm is a 100-acre farm in the Glendale section of Voorhees, New Jersey. Before English inhabitation, the land was used by the Leni Lenape Native Americans for travel. In 1773, it was originally settled by the son of John Stafford, on nearby Short Hills Farm in Cherry Hill. John Stafford was George Washington's personal guard during the American Revolutionary War. The current location of the farm, located at the busy intersection of Evesham Road (County Route 544) and White Horse Road (County Route 673), has been owned by its original family—longer than any other property in Voorhees. Motorists driving by the farm and those nearby at local shopping centers across the street can see the grazing horses and cattle. In addition, Standardbred race horses can be seen trotting and pacing around a half-mile training track on clear days. There were plans to develop a shopping center on the farm's property. Development did not occur, due to the efforts made by the township, county, and state to protect the land.Across the street on the Cherry Hill side is Holly Ravine, a shopping center and farm.

Holly Ravine Farm is a farm and shopping center located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The farm was the site of the Cowtail Bar, an ice cream parlor established in 1933 by former Cherry Hill mayor John Gilmour, Jr., who was the first mayor of Cherry Hill (previously known as Delaware Township). In 1964, Gilmour added a petting zoo on the property known as the Moo Zoo. He sold the Cowtail Bar in 1987.The farm is located on the corner of Evesham Road (County Route 544) and Springdale Road (County Route 673) on Cherry Hill's eastern side, near the border of Voorhees. Across the street in Voorhees is the site of Stafford Farm, another farm in the area.Plans to develop a 38,000-square-foot shopping center and a 3,000-square-foot bank on a piece of Holly Ravine Farm occurred in the late 1980s by Site Development Incorporated (SDI). Construction began in Spring 1989 to establish the Holly Ravine Shopping Center. Opened in 1990, the center includes a CVS Pharmacy, a dry cleaners, a hair salon, a Chinese restaurant, a delicatessen, a Wawa Food Market, and several other stores. A Commerce Bank (now TD Bank) was built as a standalone building on the Holly Ravine property. The farm still operates and is located behind the shopping center.

The Voorhees Main Street Complex (also known as the Voorhees Complex, Main Street Complex, or simply Main Street) is a shopping center, banquet hall, residential, medical and business complex located in Voorhees, New Jersey, United States. It was developed by John B. Canuso, a South Jersey developer.

Gibbsboro Air Force Station is a closed United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station. It is located 1.1 miles (1.8 km) south-southeast of Gibbsboro, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. It was closed in 1994 by the Air Force, and turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Today the site is part of the Joint Surveillance System (JSS), designated by NORAD as Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) Ground Equipment Facility.

Glendale Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic church at 615 Haddonfield-Berlin Road (CR 561), at the junction with White Horse Road (CR 673), in the Glendale section of Voorhees Township, Camden County, New Jersey, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 4, 1995 for its significance in community planning, development, and education from 1855 to 1920. At the time of its construction, the village of Glendale was impacted by the train station stop of Ashland on the Camden Atlantic Railroad. Because of the railroad, Philadelphians and shore villagers came to trade and do business.

Congregation Beth El is a Conservative synagogue located in Voorhees, New Jersey. As of 2014, the clergy included Rabbi Aaron Krupnick, Hazzan Alisa Pomerantz-Boro, Rabbi Andy Green, and Rabbi Isaac Furman. Congregation Beth El was founded in 1921, in Parkside, Camden, at Park Boulevard and Belleview, opposite Farnham Park. It was Camden's first conservative synagogue. The congregation had an annual Chanukah Ball beginning in 1922, a religious school beginning two years later, a Hebrew Free Loan Society, a Hebrew ladies charity society, and in the 1930s hosted sorority and fraternity meetings on Tuesday nights. Its synagogue building was demolished in 2000, and a Boys and Girls Club was built in its location.Beth El relocated in 1967 to 2901 West Chapel Avenue in suburban Cherry Hill. William Zorach's sculpture "Memorial to 6,000,000 Jews" (1949) was located at it. Beth El was the oldest conservative synagogue in Cherry Hill. In 2009, Beth El sold its Chapel Avenue property to a 2,500-member Christian congregation based in Philadelphia. On April 5, 2009, members of Beth El walked 6½ miles transporting 10 Torahs to the new synagogue in neighboring Voorhees, within the Main Street Complex. With the sale of the Chapel Avenue property, assessed at $9.9 million, the Voorhees campus consists of a 1,200-seat sanctuary, 500-person social hall, coffee bar and administrative offices. The remainder was raised through congregant donations.

Kresson Golf Course is a public 18-hole golf course founded in 1960 in the Kresson section of Voorhees Township, New Jersey. The course has a total length of 4,026 yards from the men's tees, with a par of 68.
