Mosley Street was a tram stop in the City Zone (now Zone 1) of Greater Manchester's Metrolink light rail system which closed on 18 May 2013. It was located on Mosley Street in Manchester city centre and was the last unidirectional stop on the Metrolink, with a single platform serving southbound passengers travelling towards Altrincham Interchange, Eccles Interchange, MediaCityUK and St Werburgh's Road only. Mosley Street tram stop opened on 27 April 1992, as part of Phase 1 of Metrolink's construction. The only remaining example in the City Zone, it was designed with a varied height platform, partly full-height with ramped lower sections. When a service was worked by two coupled T-68 vehicles, the rear vehicle extended mechanical steps to allow access at the low-platform sections - a feature absent in the newer M5000 vehicles.

1 New York Street is a high-rise office building in Manchester city centre, England. Designed by Denton Corker Marshall, the building is situated on Mosley Street opposite 38 and 42 Mosley Street. The building opened in 2009 with Bank of New York Mellon as its main tenant.

XFM Manchester was a commercial radio station broadcasting alternative and indie music to Manchester in North West England. It built on the brand and format established by XFM London. The majority of programming was shared but some was produced specifically for Manchester. At its launch in 2006 it was owned by GCap Media, and later became part of the Global Radio group. In September 2015 the station was replaced, along with XFM London, by Radio X.

City Tower (formerly Sunley House) is a 30-storey skyscraper situated in the Piccadilly Gardens area of Manchester city centre in England. As of 2023, it is the second-tallest office building in Manchester after the CIS Tower (118 m (387 ft)), the third-tallest outside London after CIS Tower and 103 Colmore Row in Birmingham (108 m (354 ft)), and the 15th-tallest building in Manchester, with a roof height of 107 m (351 ft).

Market Street is a tram stop in Zone 1 of Greater Manchester's Metrolink light rail system. It is located on Market Street, in Manchester city centre, England. It opened on 27 April 1992 as part of Phase 1 of Metrolink's expansion. Originally the stop in Market Street had one platform and handled only northbound trams to Bury Interchange, with High Street tram stop a short distance away handling southbound trams from Bury. When Market Street was pedestrianised, High Street stop was closed, and Market Street was rebuilt as an island platform to handle trams in both directions. The rebuilt stop opened on 10 August 1998. It was rebuilt once again in 2015 with a new canopy. The stop is one of the most used on the Metrolink network.

38 and 42 Mosley Street in Manchester, England, is a double-block Victorian bank constructed between 1862 and c. 1880 for the Manchester and Salford Bank. It was occupied in 2001 by the Royal Bank of Scotland. The original block of 1862 was the "last great work" of Edward Walters, and the extension of the 1880s was by his successors Barker and Ellis. It is a Grade II* listed building.The bank, on the corner of Mosley Street and York Street, is constructed in the Italian palazzo style. The original block has three storeys and seven bays, and the extension has four bays. It is built in ashlar, with slate roofs.The ground floors are rusticated with massive pilasters, and the piano nobile above has windows with substantial pediments. The roofline carries a balustrade with urns and chimneys. The interior contains a "very fine banking hall with columns and coffered ceiling". An extension of 1975 "palely follow(s) the nineteenth century rhythms.

The Portico Library, The Portico or Portico Library and Gallery on Mosley Street, Manchester, is an independent subscription library designed in the Greek Revival style by Thomas Harrison of Chester and built between 1802 and 1806. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade II* listed building, having been designated on 25 February 1952, and has been described as "the most refined little building in Manchester".The library was established as a result of a meeting of Manchester businessmen in 1802 which resolved to found an "institute uniting the advantages of a newsroom and a library". A visit by four of the men to the Athenaeum in Liverpool inspired them to achieve a similar institution in Manchester. Money was raised through 400 subscriptions from Manchester men and the library opened in 1806. The library, mainly focused on 19th-century literature, was designed by Thomas Harrison, architect of Liverpool's Lyceum and built by one of the founders, David Bellhouse. Its first secretary, Peter Mark Roget, began his thesaurus here. Today the ground floor is tenanted by The Bank, a public house that takes its name from the Bank of Athens that leased the property in 1921. The library occupies what became the first floor with its entrance on Charlotte Street.

The Rylands Building is a Grade II listed building and former department store in Market Street, Manchester, England. Situated close to the Piccadilly area of Manchester city centre, the building was originally built as a warehouse by J. Gerrard & Sons of Swinton for the Rylands textile company (Rylands & Sons Ltd) which was founded by John Rylands. That firm had occupied warehouses in High Street ever since 1822. Its west-facing side is on High Street; The building was designed by the eminent Manchester architects, Fairhursts (Harry S. & P. G. Fairhurst), in an Art Deco style. It is clad in Portland stone and features a decorative corner tower and eclectic 'zig zag' window lintels. The work was completed in 1932.The building is situated in the Smithfield conservation area of Manchester, an area which was known for its markets and textile warehouses. Following a fire, in 1957, which destroyed the premises of Paulden's Department Store, in All Saints, the company acquired the Rylands warehouse building and converted it to a store. This was then a direct rival to the Lewis's store, on the opposite side of Market Street. In 1973 Debenhams, the owner of Paulden's rebranded the store in their name. It remained Debenhams until its closure in 2021, outlasting other Manchester department stores, including Lewis's, Affleck & Brown and C&A.The Rylands Building can be seen in the background of L. S. High Street was a tram stop on Greater Manchester's light rail Metrolink network, located in Manchester city centre, England. It was on the east side of High Street opposite Manchester Arndale, between the present Shudehill tram stop and Market Street tram stop. The stop opened on 27 April 1992. Market Street (which opened the same day, and was just around the corner) and High Street Metrolink stops effectively formed a single station staggered across a road junction, with different stop names for each platform: southbound vehicles (going towards Piccadilly Gardens and St Peter's Square) stopped at the High Street stop, and northbound vehicles (going towards Victoria) stopped at Market Street. High Street, Market Street and Mosley Street tram stops were each originally built with a single-platform construction and one-way operation due to constraints on available space in the road layout.Market Street was modified to handle traffic in both directions when the street was closed to traffic, and the High Street platform was demolished in 1998 after six years' service.

Manchester Piccadilly Gardens bus station, often abbreviated to Piccadilly Gardens, is one of two main bus stations in Manchester city centre. Adjacent is a Manchester Metrolink station named Piccadilly Gardens. The majority of the stands are located between Piccadilly Gardens and the Piccadilly Plaza, where buses for south or west Manchester usually begin or end their route. Other stands, also serving Piccadilly Gardens, are located on Oldham Street, Piccadilly or Lever Street for services heading towards north or east of Manchester. The bus station was first opened on the site of the demolished Manchester Infirmary in 1931 to serve as the new terminus of the various extensive regional express bus services run by Manchester and its partners that had to be curtailed under the Road Traffic Act of 1930 and subsequent regulation of bus services. The station was extended in 1932/33 and finally extended to form the full length of Parker Street in 1935.

Bank Chambers is an office building on Portland Street, Manchester, England. Its heavy and imposing appearance gives away its previous use as a bullion bank vault by the Bank of England. The Bank of England vacated the building in the 1990s and the building is now used as offices.
