Tuguegarao ( or ), officially the City of Tuguegarao (Ibanag: Siyudad nat Tugegaraw; Itawit: Siyudad yo Tugegaraw; Ilocano: Siudad ti Tuguegarao; Filipino: Lungsod ng Tuguegarao [tʊgɛ̝gäˈɾaʊ]), is a 2nd class component city and capital of the province of Cagayan, Philippines. According to the 2024 census, it has a population of 167,297 people, making it the most populous city in Cagayan Province, Cagayan Valley and Northeastern Luzon. A major urban center and primary growth center in the Northeastern Luzon, it is the regional center of Cagayan Valley and also its regional institutional and administrative center. The city is a convergence area for the provinces of Cagayan, Kalinga, Apayao and northern Isabela and one of the fast-emerging cities in the Philippines. Dubbed as the "Gateway to the Ilocandia and the Cordilleras," the city is located on the southern border of the province where the Pinacanauan River empties into the Cagayan River. It is surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains to the east, Cordillera Mountains to the west, and the Caraballo Mountains to the south. The highest temperature ever recorded in the Philippines—42.2 °C (108.0 °F)—hit Tuguegarao on May 11, 1969.

The Archdiocese of Tuguegarao is a Latin Catholic metropolitan archdiocese of the Catholic Church in the Philippines. Tuguegarao is a river delta city that became the center of the archdiocese in the province of Cagayan, on the island of Luzon. Its seat is located at the Saint Peter the Apostle Metropolitan Cathedral.

Tuguegarao City Science High School, abbreviated as TCSHS, is a specialized public secondary school located in Mabini St., Centro 3, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines. Established in 2008, it is the first public science high school in the province, and is operated and supervised by the Department of Education (DepEd). The school offers a curriculum that emphasizes science and mathematics, encourages research-based learning, alongside student participation in various regional, national, and international competitions. SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown is a shopping mall owned and operated by SM Prime Holdings, the largest mall operator in the Philippines, located in the city's business district along Luna St. cor. Mabini St., Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. Opened on October 12, 2017, it is the first SM Supermall in Cagayan, the second in Cagayan Valley and the 65th in the Philippines. Also the seventh SM Mall under the "Center" brand, it has a gross floor area of 33,301 m2 (358,450 sq ft).

St. Paul University Philippines, also referred to by its acronym SPUP or SPU Philippines, is a private Roman Catholic research non-profit basic and higher education institution run by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (SPC) in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Philippines. It was founded by the Paulinian Sisters on May 10, 1907. It is one of the 40 schools owned, managed, and operated by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (SPC) in the Philippines. It offers basic, undergraduate, and graduate education. It is the flagship and main campus of the St. Paul University System. St. Paul University Philippines is also currently ranked, included, and recognized in the top and major world university rankings such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), and World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) rankings. It is one of the seven campuses comprising the St. Paul University System.

The Pinacanauan River, also known as the Pinacanauan de Tuguegarao, is a tributary of the Cagayan River located in the province in Cagayan, in the northern portion of Luzon in the Philippines. With a length of 46 kilometres (29 mi), the river originates in the Sierra Madre and passes through the Peñablanca Protected Landscape and Seascape, with large karst formations, underground chambers, and rare wild flora, before entering the Cagayan River in Tuguegarao, Cagayan. The Pinacanauan is considered one of the most picturesque attractions in Cagayan, passing beside the Callao Cave system. Because of its moderate to medium-quick rapid farther upstream, it is a popular place for rafting and kayaking. The place is surrounded by mountains for hiking, climbing and spelunking. Boat races take place on this river every year on April 21. The name Pinacanauan is also used to refer to three upstream tributaries of the Cagayan River in neighboring Isabela Province that also originate from the Sierra Madre. These are the Pinacanauan de Cabagan or the Pinacanauan de San Pablo, which stretches for 46 kilometers and joins the Cagayan River in the boundaries of the towns of San Pablo and Cabagan, the Pinacanauan de Tumauini, which stretches for 35 kilometers before joining the Cagayan River in Tumauini, and the Pinacanauan de Ilagan or the Ilagan River, which stretches for 40 kilometers before joining the Cagayan River in Ilagan.

Cagayan National High School, abbreviated as CNHS and locally known as Cagayan High (Filipino: Pambansang Mataas na Paaralan ng Cagayan), is the universal high school of Region 2. It is located in Taft Street, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines. Established in 1905, it is the oldest public secondary level school in Cagayan and the province's premier secondary school. The school, which is administered by the Department of Education, has around 5,000 students. Its campus is fenced and gated, although some buildings outside the walls of the school are being used because of the great number of students. This is the biggest secondary school in Cagayan Valley. Cagayan National High School was nationalized, from Cagayan High School, by virtue of Presidential Decree 1050 on July 1, 1976. Cagayan National High School, like standard Public National High Schools in the Philippines, section their students according to the entrance exam scores taken before the students' first year. Students who identify themselves as (1) a passer of the Philippine Science High School National Competitive Examination (PSHS-NCE) or (2) an elementary school class valedictorian is exempted in taking the entrance exam but are required to submit proofs for validation.

The siege at Hotel Delfino (Filipino: Pagkubkob sa Hotel Delfino, Ilocano: Sitio ti Hotel Delfino) in Tuguegarao, Cagayan in the Philippines, took place on March 4, 1990. A private army estimated at 300 men seized the hotel under the command of suspended Cagayan governor Rodolfo "Agi" Aguinaldo, a fierce critic of the administration of President Corazon Aquino and the Communist rebellion in the Philippines. The incident was an offshoot of the 1989 Philippine coup attempt that Aguinaldo publicly supported, which prompted his suspension and arrest. The standoff ended violently after several hours, leaving 14 people dead, including a general who tried to arrest him.

The Ateneo de Tuguegarao, also referred to by its acronym AdT, was a private Catholic college ran by the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines. It was established in 1945 when the Jesuits took over the administration of the diocesan secondary school, Cagayan Valley Atheneum. The Jesuits renamed the school Ateneo de Tuguegarao after taking control. The Jesuits were naming all the schools that they were opening at that time Ateneo. Ateneo de Tuguegarao was the fifth school in the Philippines that the Jesuits named Ateneo. Ateneo de Tuguegarao had a high school and college departments. In 1962, the school was closed when the Jesuits left Tuguegarao.

Robinsons Tuguegarao (formerly known as Robinsons Place Tuguegarao), is a mixed-use complex shopping mall, owned and operated by Robinsons Land Corporation, one of the largest mall operators in the Philippines. It is located at the boundary of barangays Leonarda and Tanza, along Maharlika Highway, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. Its location gives high accessibility to northern municipalities of Cagayan and the Tuguegarao Airport. The mall opened its doors to the public on July 26, 2018 as the first full-service mall in Cagayan, the second Robinsons mall in the Cagayan Valley Region, after Robinsons Place Santiago, and the 50th in the Philippines. With a gross floor area of 68,000 m2 (730,000 sq ft), it is the second largest mall in the region. The complex includes a Go Hotels branch, the first in the region, a budget hotel brand under the same mall operator.

Tuguegarao Airport (IATA: TUG, ICAO: RPUT) is an airport serving the general area of Tuguegarao, the capital city of the province of Cagayan in the Philippines. Located along Maharlika Highway, the airport is accessible from adjacent municipalities in Cagayan and northern Isabela. It is classified as a major commercial domestic airport by the Air Transportation Office. The airport is currently served by Cebu Pacific, Sky Pasada, and Philippine Airlines with regular and charter flights to Manila, Calayan, Batanes, and Isabela. In 2023, Tuguegarao Airport recorded annual passenger traffic of 225,961, a 52.8% increase from the previous year.

The Buntun Bridge (Itawit: Talletay ta Buntun; Ilocano: Rangtáy ti Buntun; Filipino: Tulay ng Buntun) is a river bridge that stretches from Tuguegarao City to Solana in Cagayan and spans the Cagayan River, the largest river basin in the Philippines. It forms part of the Santiago–Tuguegarao Road (designated as N51 by the Department of Public Works and Highways highway routing system), a major junction of the Pan-Philippine Highway. It was the longest bridge in the Philippines upon its opening in 1969, surpassed in 1973 by the San Juanico Bridge. A popular belief is that the bridge is long enough for a person to recite the entire Philippine National Anthem while traversing.
