Coldspring, Baltimore

Ruscombe is a historic home located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a 2+1⁄2-story Italianate mansion with basement, constructed of fieldstone in 1866. It is a gable and hip roofed building. The main block of the building is 50 feet by 50 feet, with a gable-roofed L-shaped wing. It was designed by Baltimore architect Joseph F. Kemp, who is credited with the design of Camden Station.Ruscombe was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Cylburn Arboretum [pronounced Sill·burn arr·burr·EE·tum] is a city park with arboretum and gardens, located at 4915 Greenspring Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland. It is open daily – excluding Mondays – without charge. The arboretum began as the private estate of businessman Jesse Tyson, who started construction of Cylburn Mansion in 1863. The house, designed by Baltimore City Hall architect George Aloysius Frederick, was eventually completed in 1888 and remains intact, a stone structure built of gneiss from Tyson's quarries at Bare Hills, with mansard roof, tower, and an Italianate cupola. It became the Cylburn Wildflower Preserve and Garden Center in 1954 and, in 1982, was renamed the Cylburn Arboretum Association.The Cylburn Mansion houses a display of watercolor paintings of Maryland wildflowers that is open to the public. Today the arboretum contains an extensive collection of trees and woody shrubs based loosely on the Tysons' original plantings. Collections include azaleas, bamboo, beeches, boxwoods, chestnuts, conifers, hollies, Japanese maples, magnolias, maples, Maryland oaks, and viburnum. The arboretum also includes a number of flower and vegetable gardens, as well as greenhouses designed and built in the 1960s by Lord & Burnham. The greenhouses grow plants for the city's parks, and are not open to the general public. The arboretum is included in the Baltimore National Heritage Area.It was used as a filming location for "Final Grades", a 2006 episode of The Wire, in which Bodie Broadus and Jimmy McNulty have a conversation in the park.

Cold Spring Lane station is a light rail station on the Baltimore Light Rail system. The stop is located on Cold Spring Lane near the interchange with Interstate 83. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks. The Cold Spring Lane stop is in close proximity to the former Melvale station of the Northern Central Railway, an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Cylburn is a neighborhood in the North District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Levindale (north) and Edgecomb (south). Its boundaries are marked by Cylburn Avenue (north), Dupont Avenue (south), Pimlico Road (west) and Greenspring Avenue (east). Central Park Heights, is located on the opposite side of Pimlico Road in the Northwest area of Baltimore City. Cylburn Arboretum (old Elisha Tyson mansion and estate off Greenspring Avenue) and the neighborhood of Cold Spring are located to Cylburn's east, across Greenspring Avenue. The heavily wooded property with its historic mansion and grounds, walking trails, famous collections and gardens overlook the Jones Falls Valley with the Jones Falls Expressway (Interstate 83) further to the east.

The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, colloquially referred to as BPI, Poly, and The Institute, is a U.S. public high school founded in 1883. Established as an all-male manual trade / vocational school by the Baltimore City Council and the Baltimore City Public Schools, it is now a coeducational academic institution that emphasizes sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It is located on a 53-acre (21 ha) tract of land in North Baltimore on the east bank of the Jones Falls stream. BPI and the adjacent Western High School are located on the same campus.

Sinai Hospital is an American private hospital based in Baltimore, Maryland, that was founded in 1866 as the Hebrew Hospital and Asylum. It is now a Jewish-sponsored teaching hospital that provides care for patients in the greater Baltimore City, Baltimore County and surrounding communities. The implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) was invented here by the team of Dr. Michel Mirowski, Dr. Morton Mower, M. Stephen Heilman, and Alois Langer who are all in the National Inventors Hall of Fame for their achievement. Since 1998, Sinai Hospital has been a part of the LifeBridge Health system, which also runs Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Carroll Hospital in Westminster, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Nursing Home (which is across the street from Sinai), Grace Medical Center in West Baltimore City, Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, several medical office buildings in the Baltimore area, and a health and fitness club called LifeBridge Health & Fitness, located in Pikesville, Maryland. Sinai Hospital is located in Northwest Baltimore along Belvedere Avenue, near the intersection of Northern Parkway and Greenspring Avenue, and about a block away from Pimlico Race Course. The entrance to the emergency department known as ER-7 is accessible from Greenspring Avenue. The hospital itself is also surrounded by Cylburn and Lanier Avenues. The hospital is very close to exit 10 off Interstate 83. Several public bus lines operated by the Maryland Transit Administration serve the hospital, including Routes 1, 27, 44, and 91.

Edgecomb, also known as Parklane, is a neighborhood in the North District of Baltimore, located between the neighborhoods of Cylburn (north) and Greenspring (south). Its boundaries are marked by Dupont Avenue (north), Coldspring Lane (south), Pimlico Road (west) and Greenspring Avenue (east). Central Park Heights, is located on the opposite side of Pimlico Road in the Northwest District. The neighborhood of Coldspring is located to Edgecomb's east, across Greenspring Avenue.

The Rev. Harold Ridley, S.J. Intercollegiate Athletic Complex is a multi-sport facility owned and operated by Loyola University Maryland. It is located 1.5 mi (2.4 km) west of the main campus in Baltimore, Maryland, on a 71 acres (28.7 ha) parcel of land at the southwest corner of the intersection of the Jones Falls Expressway and Coldspring Lane in the Woodberry neighborhood. At a total cost of US$62 million, it was the largest capital project in Loyola's history. Named after Rev. Harold Ridley, S.J. at the request of an anonymous donor whose $5 million contribution was the most from an individual to the university, the complex consists of a 6,000-seat stadium for Loyola Greyhounds men's and women's soccer and lacrosse, an additional field for its men's rugby union club and eight courts for men's and women's tennis.

Western High School is the oldest public all-girls high school remaining in the United States. It is the third-oldest public high school in the state of Maryland and part of the Baltimore City Public Schools. Western High was named a "National Blue Ribbon School" of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education in 2009 and a "Silver Medal High School" by the news magazine U.S. News & World Report in 2012.

Village of Cross Keys is a privately owned upscale area of Baltimore, Maryland. It is located off Maryland Route 25 (Falls Road) between Northern Parkway and Cold Spring Lane, and is home to luxury condos and upscale small shops. Baltimore financier and mall developer James Rouse, founder of The Rouse Company, purchased the Frederick Law Olmsted Jr.-designed Baltimore Country Club Golf Course near his Roland Park home for $1,700,000 in 1963, site unseen. The 5,000-person village was built on the historic property in 1965. Michael D. Spear was the development director, later becoming CEO of the Rouse Company. It was the first in a series of planned communities developed by Rouse. Office space was occupied by Rouse until the company moved to its next development in Columbia, Maryland. The retail component of the village declined with competition from Towson Town Center and The Shops at Kenilworth to the north and Harbor East to the South. The retail and office property was acquired by Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation in 2012.The office and retail components of the property were acquired from Ashkenazy by Caves Valley Partners in 2020 and are undergoing significant leasing activity and reinvestment.

Levindale is a neighborhood in northwest Baltimore which includes Sinai Hospital, the Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, and a small number of detached homes and apartment buildings towards its south.The Levindale-Sunset Community Association is an organizational body for residents of the area, which is often described in conjunction with the nearby communities of Cylburn, Park Heights, Pimlico, Arlington, and Hilltop due to its small size.

WZFT (104.3 FM), known on-air as "Z104.3", is a gold-based Top 40/CHR radio station located in Baltimore, Maryland. It is currently owned and operated by iHeartMedia. Its studios are located at The Rotunda shopping center in Baltimore, and the transmitter is based atop Television Hill in the city's Woodberry district.
