Central South Philadelphia, commonly known as either just South Philadelphia or "South Philly," is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is generally bounded by Broad to 9th Streets (west to east) and Mifflin to Shunk (north to south). The entire neighborhood falls under the 19148 zip code. The neighborhood has a large Italian American population.

South Philadelphia High School is a public secondary high school located in the Lower Moyamensing neighborhood of South Philadelphia, at the intersection of Broad Street and Snyder Avenue. The school serves grades 9 through 12 and is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The school serves portions of South Philadelphia (including Southwark), and it previously served the Rittenhouse Square and Logan Square sections of Center City.

Snyder station is a rapid transit passenger rail station on SEPTA's Broad Street Line in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is located at 2100 South Broad Street (PA 611) in the Lower Moyamensing neighborhood and is named for Snyder Avenue. Originally built in 1938, Snyder station was the southern terminus of the Broad Street Line until 1973, when it was extended to Pattison Station (now named NRG station). A connection exists to the never-built Passyunk Avenue Spur. South Philadelphia High School and the Methodist Hospital are located near the station.

Baptist Institute for Christian Workers (also known as Crown Nursing Home and now known as Snyder House) is a historic building 1427 Snyder Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which has been used for several purposes and currently is a rehabilitation facility for veterans.The unique late-Gothic Revival (Institutional Gothic) and Jacobean style building was constructed between 1911 and 1929 by Benjamin Rush Stevens for use as home to the Baptist Institute, a junior college, which later moved to Bryn Mawr and became known as Ellen Cushing Junior College. In 1952 the Navy started using the building, and in 1958 the building began use as a nursing home known as Crown Nursing Home and then later the Cambridge Retirement Community. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The building was renovated in 2013 and currently is used by the Veterans' Administration at a 40-bed facility known as Snyder House for veterans recovering from homelessness and addictions.

Oregon station is a rapid transit passenger rail station on SEPTA's Broad Street Line. It is located at 2700 South Broad Street (PA 611) at the intersection of Oregon Avenue in the Marconi Plaza neighborhood of South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is the last stop before the southern terminus of the line. Oregon station opened on April 8, 1973 on the north side of Marconi Park.

West Passyunk is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is bounded by Mifflin Street to the north, West Passyunk Avenue to the south, South 18th Street to east, and South 25th Street to the west. It is served by the 1st Police District, located at 24th and Wolf Streets.

Dickinson Square West is a neighborhood in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States bordered by neighborhoods Queen Village to the north, Whitman to the south, Pennsport to the east and Passyunk Square and East Passyunk Crossing to the west. The neighborhood was previously referred to as "Dickinson Narrows", but was officially reestablished as "Dickinson Square West" in 2013 by the Registered Community Organization, Dickinson Square West Civic Association, located within its boundaries. In October, 2018, The Dickinson Square West Civic Association passed an amendment to expand the southern boundary from Mifflin Street to Snyder Ave

Marconi Plaza is an urban park square located in South Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The plaza was named to recognize the 20th-century cultural identity in Philadelphia of the surrounding Italian-American enclave neighborhood and became the designation location of the annual Columbus Day Parade. Marconi Plaza has two main halves, east and west, which are divided in the middle by Broad Street. It is located at the most southern end of the city and within the northern border of the Sports Complex Special Services District and the southern border of Lower Moyamensing. The park plaza is accessible via the Oregon Avenue station of the Broad Street subway. Boundaries of the Marconi Plaza neighborhood: The urban park plaza itself, from which the neighborhood derives its name (Marconi East and "Marco" Marconi West), is a 19-acre (77,000 m2) rectangular park. The Roman-styled plaza is divided in the center by Broad Street and is bordered by 13th Street, 15th Street, Bigler Street, and Oregon Avenue.

Keystone Park is a former baseball ground located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ground was home to the Philadelphia Keystones of the Union Association in 1884. Some sources state the location of the ballpark as the east side of South Broad Street and Moore Street. However, the Philadelphia Times for March 23, 1884, p. 7, puts the ballpark on the west side of Broad Street: "... the square of ground from Broad to Fifteenth and Moore to Mifflin... four hundred feet square... two entrances located at the southwest corner of Broad and Moore streets... The grandstand is located on the northwest corner of the lot [i.e. Moore and 15th]." The field was the original grounds of the Forepaugh Circus. Not to be confused with the later Forepaugh Park.

The Francis M. Drexel School was a historic school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Located along S. 16th Street, the school was designed by Joseph Anschutz and built under the direction of Charles O'Neill, Jr. The three-story brick building was built in a regular rectangular plan in the Victorian style of architecture, with three chimneys dominating its facade.: 2 The school was named for Francis Martin Drexel, whose son, banker and philanthropist Anthony J. Drexel, founded Drexel University two years after the construction of the school.
