Mendham Township Public Schools

Brookside (once called Waterstreet) is a historic unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Mendham Township in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is located approximately 6 mi (9.7 km) west of Morristown. It is close to the Washington Valley Historic District in neighboring Morris Township. The settlement appeared on maps as early as 1777. A portion of the Patriots' Path, the trail George Washington and his troops marched on, runs through Brookside's woods along the Whippany River. Brookside was noted as a postal village in 1882. In 1883, the population was 187. The Brookside Post Office, which at one time was also a general store and gas station, is still the social hub of the village. Many residents stop there daily to collect their mail. In 1996, most of the village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Brookside Historic District. In the Forbes magazine 2009 ranking of the Most Expensive ZIP Codes in the United States, Brookside was ranked as the 10th most expensive in the country, with its median home sale price of $3,121,115.It was first listed as a CDP in 2020 census with a population of 1,767.

General Douglas MacArthur Military Academy was a military high school that was started by dissatisfied staff, faculty, and parents of Eastern Military Academy during the final years of that school's existence. It was named for General Douglas MacArthur. The school existed from 1966 to 1975 and was located in Mount Freedom, New Jersey. The school took over Lieberman's Royal House Hotel. The building was subsequently demolished. The site is vacant.

West Morris Mendham High School (also known as Mendham High School) is home of the Minutemen, and is a four-year comprehensive regional public high school that serves students in ninth though twelfth grades as part of the West Morris Regional High School District. Established in 1970, the school is located in the heart of Mendham Borough, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Students who attend the school come from the Morris County municipalities of Chester Borough, Chester Township, Mendham Borough and Mendham Township (including the areas of Brookside and Ralston).As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,106 students and 94.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1. There were 15 students (1.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Its sister school, West Morris Central High School, is located in Washington Township. Students from Washington Township attend West Morris Central. The two schools maintain an athletic rivalry, which has survived decades of conference and schedule changes for all sports. Mount Olive High School was broken off from the original three-school district in 1977.Mendham was certified to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in January 1998. The school was one of 17 high schools in New Jersey to offer the IB diploma program in 2021; along with its sister school West Morris Central, it is one of the two high schools in New the state to offer both the IB Diploma and Career Programs.

The North Branch Raritan River is a tributary of the Raritan River in central New Jersey.The North Branch Raritan River rises in Morris County, in eastern Mendham Borough rising out of Raritan Pond, and flows generally southward into Somerset County, around the southern end of the Watchung Mountains. At its end, it forms the border between Bridgewater and Branchburg Townships, and upon reaching the border of Hillsborough Township, joins the South Branch Raritan River to form the main Raritan River, which generally flows eastward from that point. This area where the branches converge was called "Tucca-Ramma-Hacking" by the Lenape, meaning the flowing together of water. It was called "Two Bridges" by the early European settlers, after a set of bridges built in 1733 that met at a small island (the island has washed away over time) on the North Branch. Today the area is generally referred to as "The Confluence". In the 1970s, the state discussed plans for a Raritan Confluence Reservoir, which have been shelved due to acquisition costs.Both North and South branches of the Raritan run nearly parallel southwards, east and west of one another, but receive their names from the direction each one flows from at their confluence.

The Tempe Wick Road–Washington Corners Historic District is a 353-acre (143 ha) historic district located in Harding Township and Mendham Township in Morris County, New Jersey. It extends along Tempe Wick Road from Mount Kemble Avenue (U.S. Route 202) to Cold Hill Road, and short segments of Corey Lane, Cemetery Road, Kennaday Road, Leddell Road, and Jockey Hollow Road. Tempe Wick Road is named for Temperance Wick. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 25, 2000, for its significance in architecture and military history. The district includes 44 contributing buildings, 6 contributing sites, 10 contributing structures, and 4 contributing objects.

Mount Freedom Presbyterian Church is a historic Christian house of worship affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and located at the intersection of Sussex Turnpike and Church Road in the Mount Freedom section of Randolph Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. This congregation is overseen by the Presbytery of Newton. This church was closed for a few years. It is now Faithfulness Church, a Chinese Protestant Church. The church building was built in 1868 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Mendham Township is a township in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, located more than 30 miles (48 km) due west of New York City. The Washington Valley Schoolhouse, also known as the Little Red Schoolhouse, is located at the intersection of Washington Valley Road and Schoolhouse Lane in the Washington Valley section of Morris Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The schoolhouse was built in 1869 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 15, 1973, for its significance in education. It was designated a contributing property of the Washington Valley Historic District on November 12, 1992.

Delbarton School is a private all-male Catholic college-preparatory school in Morristown, New Jersey for young men in seventh through twelfth grades. Delbarton is a host site for NJ Seeds' young scholars program where every summer academically qualified but economically disadvantaged students attend classes on the Delbarton campus.

The Mendham Borough Schools are a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Mendham Borough, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of two schools, had an enrollment of 485 students and 53.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.1:1.Students in public school for ninth through twelfth grades attend West Morris Mendham High School, which is located in Mendham Borough and serves students from Chester Borough, Chester Township, Mendham Borough and Mendham Township. The school is part of the West Morris Regional High School District, which also serves students from Washington Township at West Morris Mendham High School. As of the 2020–21 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,142 students and 91.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.4:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "J", the highest of eight groupings. Washington Valley is an unincorporated community in the Whippany River valley within Morris Township in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.Washington Valley is popularly known for farmsteads of the late 18th and early 19th century, but their appearance and survival is the legacy of wealthy estate builders who acquired properties and moved there at the end of the 19th century.

The John Smith House is a historic building located at 124 Washington Valley Road in the Washington Valley section of Morris Township, Morris County, New Jersey. The two-story brick house was built in 1812, with the year set in black brick on the west gable. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 1, 1976, for its significance in agriculture and architecture. It is also a contributing property of the Washington Valley Historic District.
