Noxon House

Noxontown consists of the remaining buildings and structures associated with a country mill site and village located near Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware. They are a house, small frame mill, shed, and mill dam. The house was built by Thomas Noxon about 1740, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, four-bay, brick dwelling with a two-story brick wing. The 2+1⁄2-story frame mill predates the house. It measures 30 feet by 40 feet and has a metal roof. Noxontown was an important trading and milling center throughout the Colonial period. The mill was in operation as a merchant mill until 1855 and thereafter solely as a custom mill.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.All the buildings of Noxontown are now owned by St. Andrew's School.

St. Andrew's is a private, Episcopal, co-educational 100% boarding school in New Castle County, Delaware, with a Middletown postal address. It is one of only three co-ed college preparatory schools in the United States where all students board. St. Andrew's has 318 students, and is highly selective, accepting 18% for the 2021–2022 school year. Despite its relatively small student body, it has one of the largest secondary school campuses in the United States, spanning 2,200 acres. St. Andrew's offers 130 courses each year in 10 disciplines.

St. Anne's Episcopal School is a private school in Middletown, Delaware. The school was founded in 2001 by educators from St. Andrews School in Middletown. The school has two classes in grades Pre-K to 8th. There is also a preschool. The school promotes diversity and gives out 750,000 dollars annually in financial aid.St Anne's has a girls field hockey, male and female basketball, male and female soccer, co-ed cross country, boys and girls lacrosse, teams. The school currently runs an indoor soccer league. The school's first headmaster was Harvey Zendt. Peter Thayer replaced him in 2008.

Middletown High School is a public high school located in Middletown, Delaware, United States. It is one of three high schools in the Appoquinimink School District and serves students grades 9–12. It was previously located in what is now the Everett Meredith Middle School building. Originally opened in 1997, the current facility added a two-story wing in the summer of 2002, and an expansion of its cafeteria/lobby to create extra capacity.

Hill Island Farm, also known as Noxontown Farm, is a historic home located in Townsend, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1790, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay brick dwelling with interior brick chimneys at both gable ends. It has a gable roof with dormers. The house measures approximately 48 feet by 19 feet and has a center passage plan. It is in the Federal style.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The J. Shallcross House is a historic home located at Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1885, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, frame house constructed in a vernacular Victorian style. It has a three bay by two bay rear wing. The house features a three bay, wood porch on the front facade and a gable roof with dormers.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The initial nomination confused it with the A. M. Vail House and referred to it as the "J. K. Williams House"; the historical information there may not apply to this building.

Pharo House, also known as The Pratt House, is a historic home located in Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built around 1885, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay L-shaped frame dwelling with a steep gable roof. It has a one-story, flat-roofed addition on the ell added in the 1940s. It features two four-window bays that project from the main block and a full width front porch. Also on the property are the contributing granary or barn, battery house, and Big Chicken House or Breeder House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

A. M. Vail House was a historic home located at Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware. It is a two-story, five-bay timber frame dwelling in the late-Federal style. It was built on a center-hall passage plan. Also on the property were a smoke house, a drive-through crib barn and granary, and a large frame cow barn.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It was demolished between 2007 and 2009.

Maple Grove Farm was a historic home located at Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware, USA. It was built about 1840, and was a 2+1⁄2-story, five-by-two bay, frame Georgian house with a two-story, frame gabled wing to the east and a two-story kitchen wing to the rear. It featured a full width front porch supported by Doric order columns. Also on the property was a small stone, stuccoed structure which appears to have been a meathouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and demolished between 1992 and 2002.

Arnold S. Naudain House is a historic home located near Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1725, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, stuccoed brick dwelling in the early Georgian style. It has a hipped roof and two-story stuccoed brick wing. Also on the property is a contributing ice house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is on the grounds of St. Andrew's School.

Saint Anne's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal Church in Middletown, Delaware. The town church was built in 1888. The old church was built in 1768 on the site of an earlier wooden church built about 1705. Queen Anne presented the church with a "covering for the communion table."The church was nominated for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places on May 2, 1972, and was added to the Register on March 7, 1973.

Appoquinimink Friends Meetinghouse, also known as the Odessa Friends Meetinghouse, is a very small but historic Quaker meetinghouse on Main Street in Odessa, Delaware. It was built in 1785 by David Wilson and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Members of the meeting, including John Hunn and his cousin John Alston, were active in the Underground Railroad and Harriet Tubman may have hid in the meetinghouse. Measuring about 20 feet (6.1 m) by 22 feet (6.7 m), it may be the smallest brick house of worship in the United States.
