Naro-Fominsk (Russian: На́ро-Фоми́нск) is a town and the administrative center of Naro-Fominsky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located on the Nara River, 70 kilometers (43 mi) southwest from Moscow.

Naro-Fominsky District (Russian: Наро-Фоминский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the thirty-six in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,547.44 square kilometers (597.47 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Naro-Fominsk. Population: 189,763 (2010 Census); 191,596 (2002 census); 112,685 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Naro-Fominsk accounts for 34.1% of the district's total population. A part of Naro-Fominsky District was merged into the federal city of Moscow on July 1, 2012. The oldest building in the district is the Kamenskoye Church. There is also Church of Demetrius of Thessaloniki in Dubrovo village.

The Church of St Nicholas (Никольская церковь) is a small fortified church in the village of Kamenskoye, Naro-Fominsk District, Moscow Oblast, Russia. The Nara River is 200 meters away. Probably dating from the 14th century, this Orthodox church is considered the oldest building in the Moscow region (including the city of Moscow). No records exist of the church prior to its dome's collapse during the Time of Troubles. Following a long period of neglect, the building was repaired and considerably expanded in the 18th century (when a refectory and a belfry were added). It remained little known until Mikhail Preobrazhensky, writing in the late 19th century, declared it the oldest building in the Kaluga Governorate. It was the subject of a medievalizing restoration programme in 1958–1964. The limestone walls of the church are distorted and far from smooth. Unlike most Russian medieval churches, it has no pillars. The design is similar to the oldest churches of Kolomna and has parallels in the Slavic Balkans. The drum is placed on a pedestal that could support a team of archers to defend the structure from an attack. Most modern scholars date the church to the 14th century, with Sergey Zagraevsky dating it to the period between 1309 and 1312.

The Kubinka Tank Museum (Центральный музей бронетанкового вооружения и техники - Tsentral'nyy Muzey Bronetankovogo Vooruzheniya I Tekhniki -Central Museum of Armored Arms and Technology) is a large military museum in Kubinka, Odintsovsky District, Moscow Oblast, Russia where tanks, armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) and their relevant information are displayed and showcased. The museum consists of open-air and indoor permanent exhibitions of many famous tanks and armored vehicles from throughout the 20th and 21st centuries (between 1917 and the present day). It also houses and displays many unique, unusual and one-of-a-kind military vehicles of which there are very few remaining examples, such as the German Panzer VIII Maus super-heavy tank, Troyanov's Object 279 Kotin heavy tank, the Karl-Gerät heavy self-propelled artillery, and the Object 120 Su-152 "Taran" tank destroyer, amongst other single or limited-production prototypes from the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany.

Patriot Park (Russian: Парк «Патриот») is a theme park in Kubinka, Russia, that is themed around equipment of the Russian military and the Soviet Union's victory in World War II. The park, which officially opened in 2016, is designed around a military theme, and includes interactive exhibits with military equipment (including a mini-Reichstag to storm). The concept and management of Patriot Park changed frequently. The exhibits of the tank museum were located in 7 powerful Soviet pavilions by armored vehicles category in progress, so that specialists could see the development. Initially, only 14 light summer hangars were installed in Patriot Park. One hangar housed armored vehicles of the Second World War of all countries, corresponding to a given period: 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944-45. This roughly corresponded to the "Battle of Moscow", "Battle of Stalingrad", "Battle of Kursk" and "Battle of Berlin". One hangar was dedicated to military space, another to airborne armored vehicles. Another hangar was dedicated to the war with Japan. Later, a hangar with trophies from the war in Syria was added. The large outdoor exhibition received new exhibits from other museums and military units. Over time, new hangars were built and the exposition changed. The next area of Patriot Park was the "Partisan Village" (WW2 Guerrilla Village). A base for partisans of a large unit, it includes more than twenty dugouts, an observation post, a kitchen, a stable and a training center for saboteurs. All objects were made in accordance with the Military Regulations and instructions, authentically, by soldiers of the local garrison. The exhibit items were taken from local military units, as was the food. Several objects differ from the real ones, as they were made for commercial purposes. The fee for visiting is taken separately or included in the complex ticket. At first, it was planned to move all exhibits from the Central Air Force Museum in Monino to Patriot Park. Some exhibits were transported without problems. But moving giant strategic bombers definitely caused their breakdown. The Ministry of Culture threatened the Ministry of Defense with criminal liability for damaging especially valuable exhibits. As a result, this decision was cancelled. Only aircraft from military units began to arrive at Patriot Park. The park incorporates the Aviation Museum of the Kubinka air base and the Kubinka Tank Museum. In 2020, the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces was completed and plans for an Armed Force Museum are in progress. The park has hosted International Military-Technical Forum "Army" since 2015. On 5 August 2024, the park's head, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, was arrested along with defence ministry official Major General Vladimir Shesterov on charges of embezzling its funds. On August 29, General of the Army Pavel Popov was detained for misappropriating funds intended for the Patriot Park to renovate his personal proprieties.

The Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces (Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ; Russian: Главный храм Вооружённых сил России (Храм Воскресения Христова)) is a lavish Russian Orthodox Patriarchal cathedral in honour of the Resurrection of Christ and "dedicated to the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the military feats of the Russian people in all wars", built in the Patriot Park in the Odintsovsky District, Moscow Oblast. The cathedral was built with donations and budget funds from the Moscow city government and the Moscow Oblast. It was consecrated as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Soviet victory on the Eastern Front of World War II, known as the Great Patriotic War in Russia. An exhibition dedicated to the history of the Russian state and its armed forces will be located on-site. The construction of the cathedral was completed on 9 May 2020, on the annual Victory Day. It was consecrated on 14 June. It was opened on 22 June 2020, on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, the day Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, by the head of the Russian Orthodox Synod’s new Armed Forces Liaison Department, Father Oleg Ovcharov.
