The Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA ( nip-SEE-ə)) is a professional school of international affairs at Carleton University that was founded in 1965. The school is based at Richcraft Hall on Carleton's campus in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Students, alumni and faculty of NPSIA are referred to as 'NPSIAns' ( NIP-see-ən). NPSIA is Canada's oldest school of international affairs, founded during what is commonly considered a golden age of Canadian diplomacy. The school offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of global issues, divided into eight fields. In 2007, a poll of Canadian academics, intended to determine the best professional master's degree programs in international affairs, ranked NPSIA at number 2, tied with Georgetown University and ahead of programs at universities like Harvard and Columbia. A 2019 survey of Canadian academics in international affairs confirmed NPSIA as the most-recommended school in Canada for students seeking a career in policy.NPSIA is a founding member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA), a group of public policy, public administration and international affairs schools.

Carleton University is an English-language public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1942 as Carleton College, the institution originally operated as a private, non-denominational evening college to serve returning World War II veterans. Carleton was chartered as a university by the provincial government in 1952 through The Carleton University Act, which was then amended in 1957, giving the institution its current name. The university is named for the now-dissolved Carleton County, which included the city of Ottawa at the time the university was founded. Carleton County, in turn, was named in honour of Guy Carleton, 1st Baron Dorchester, who was Governor General of The Canadas from 1786 to 1796. The university moved to its current campus in 1959, growing rapidly in size during the 1960s as the Ontario government increased support for post-secondary institutions and expanded access to higher education. Carleton offers a diverse range of academic programs, and is organized into six faculties and more than 65 degree programs. It has several specialized institutions well-regarded in their fields, including the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs, the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, the Carleton School of Journalism, the School of Public Policy and Administration, and the Sprott School of Business. As of 2021, Carleton yearly enrolls more than 27,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students. Carleton has a 150-acre campus located west of Old Ottawa South, close to The Glebe and Confederation Heights. The Carleton Ravens are nationally renowned for their men's basketball team; a team which has won 16 of 19 national championships since 2003.

CKCU-FM is a Canadian community-based campus radio station, broadcasting at 93.1 FM in Ottawa, and offering live and archived on-demand audio streams from its website. The station broadcasts 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The station's studios are located on the campus of Carleton University, on the fifth floor of the University Centre building. The station's signal is radiated from the Ryan Tower in the Gatineau Hills, along with most of Ottawa's other private and public radio stations, meaning that it enjoys full broadcast power and a listening area with a radius of 100 km.

Carleton is a light rail station located along the Trillium Line at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. Carleton is currently the only O-Train station along the Trillium Line with separate tracks and platforms for each direction, in order to allow the two trains working the otherwise single-track line at any given time to pass. The schedule is timed such that the southbound train arrives first and moves onto the platform siding, and then proceeds once the northbound train has entered the station. South of Carleton, the train crosses the Rideau River by a bridge. North of Carleton, the train heads into a tunnel under the Rideau Canal. The station is named for nearby Carleton University.

Vincent Massey Park is an urban park along the Rideau River in the Confederation Heights neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, accessible via Heron Road. It is extensively used in the summer for family and group picnics. The park has wooded walking paths, rolling meadows, scenic vistas, open grassy areas for playing sports, and picnic tables. Available amenities include washrooms, pathways, water fountains, bandstand, two softball diamonds, electrical hook-ups, and barbecue pits.It is named after Charles Vincent Massey, 18th Governor General of Canada.

The Sprott School of Business is a doctoral-granting business school at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – the nation’s capital. It is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS). The school explores complex management issues through its programs, interdisciplinary research and collaborative partnerships. It was named in 2001 for Eric Sprott, a well-known philanthropist, alumnus of the school, and precious-metals investor.Business studies have a long history at Carleton, with the first commerce degrees awarded in 1949. Today, the Sprott School of Business offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The school is also highly research-oriented. Among its accolades, Sprott has won the Overall Institution Performance Award for research contribution at the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) conference in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2012, the most such honours among all Canadian business schools.

TAAG Park is a FieldTurf stadium located at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on the north-eastern edge of the university campus, where Bronson Avenue meets University Road. The stadium was renamed TAAG Park in August 2022.Known as Raven Field until 1998 when it became known as Keith Harris Stadium. Keith Harris served as the Director of Carleton Athletics for over 30 years and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2000. In 2011, the Carleton Board of Governors approved a plan for the expansion and renovation of the stadium.The stadium is home to Carleton University Ravens varsity football team, men's and women's varsity soccer teams and women's rugby team. The stadium, supplied and installed by Sport Systems Canada Inc, has a seating capacity of 3,044, plus room for approximately 500 spectators on the "Perch", a hill on the east side of the stadium often used by students, for a total capacity of 3,500. Also, there are three state of the art press boxes complete with viewing platforms.

The George Dunbar Bridge is a vehicular and pedestrian bridge in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, carrying Bronson Avenue over the Rideau River and connecting it to the Airport Parkway. The original Dunbar Bridge was opened to traffic on December 19, 1955. It was demolished in December 1994. The current bridge was reconstructed in 1993–1996. The northbound (east) span was built in May 1993–December 1994 adjacent to the 1955 bridge. The southbound (west) span was built in 1995–96 on the site of the demolished 1955 bridge. The bridge is named for George Harrison Dunbar (1876-1966), a prominent member of the Ontario legislature who served as MPP for Ottawa South and Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs in 1943–1955. He personally opened the bridge at the time of its completion.

The Heron Road Workers Memorial Bridge (formerly the Heron Road Bridge) is a bridge in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It connects Baseline Road to Heron Road and allows east–west traffic to cross both the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal just south of Carleton University. The current bridge was finished in 1967, one year after a bridge collapse killed nine workers and injured over sixty others in the worst construction accident in both Ottawa and Ontario history. It was renamed in 2016 to commemorate the victims of that accident.

The Sir Charles Tupper Building has since its completion in 1960 served as the headquarters of the Department of Public Works, now Public Works and Government Services Canada. It also houses some Health Canada operations, notably the headquarters of the Pest Management Regulatory Agency. It was named in honour of the Father of Confederation and sixth Prime Minister of Canada.The Tupper building is one of the five original facilities making up the Confederation Heights development completed from the late 1950s into the 1960s, in accordance with the Greber Plan to decentralise Federal government functions. Built in International Style on a large sloping site at Confederation Heights, the Tupper building consists of five thin, interlocking rectangular blocks, four/five stories tall, laid out at right angles in a geometric, stair-like arrangement. While the internal arrangements of the building have changed over time, its outside appearance has remained the same. In recognition of its architectural importance, the Sir Charles Tupper building was added to the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Brewer Park is a municipal park in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the north bank of the Rideau River at Bronson Avenue, across from Carleton University. In the winter, Brewer park houses a world-class speed skating oval, two smaller-sized hockey rinks as well as Canada's largest Legal Graffiti wall under Dunbar Bridge. It is one of the most popular places for the students of Carleton University, who can study or involve themselves in many sports.

Rideauview Terrace is a sub-neighbourhood of Carleton Heights in River Ward in the west-end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located just west of the Rideau Canal. It is bordered by Prince of Wales Drive to the west, Heron Drive to the south, Rideau Canal to the east and the Central Experimental Farm to the north. It is across the Rideau Canal from Carleton University. According to the Canada 2011 Census, there were 45 dwellings in the neighbourhood and it had a population of 98.The neighbourhood consists of three streets: Green Valley Terrace, Fairchild Private and Rideauview Terrace plus a few houses on Prince of Wales. All the homes (except for five on Green Valley Drive) are detached houses and are relatively large and high in price. Fairchild Private and Rideauview Terrace were developed in the 1980s, Green Valley Crescent is older. There are several office buildings at the corner of Prince of Wales and Heron/Baseline Road. Green Valley Crescent is home to a Ukrainian Catholic church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is on Prince of Wales.
