Universitet Druzhby Narodov (Russian: Университет Дружбы Народов) is a Moscow Metro station located on Troitskaya line. It was opened on 7 September 2024 as part of the inaugural segment of the line, between Novatorskaya and Tyutchevskaya. Universitet Druzhby Narodov is located between Novatorskaya and Generala Tyuleneva. The station is built at the intersection of Miklukho-Maklaya Street and Akademika Oparina Street, close to the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, hence the name.

The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Russian: Российский университет дружбы народов), also known as RUDN University, is a public research university located in Moscow, Russia. It was established in 1960 by a resolution from Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR to help nations to provide assistance to countries that recently achieved independence from colonial powers. The university also acted to further Soviet foreign policy goals in nonaligned countries.The main task of the university was to train highly qualified national personnel from Asia, Africa and Latin America. In addition, the university also provided higher education for Soviet youth.

Belyayevo (Russian: Беля́ево) is a station on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. It opened on 12 August 1974 as part of the southwest extension of the Kaluzhsky radius

The Bulldozer Exhibition (Russian: Бульдозерная выставка) was an unofficial art exhibition on a vacant lot in the Belyayevo urban forest (Bitsa Park) by Moscow and Leningrad avant-garde artists on 15 September 1974. The exhibition was forcefully broken-up by a large police force that included bulldozers and water cannons, hence the name. Since the 1930s in the Soviet Union Socialist realism had been the only art style largely supported by the state. All other forms of art were forced underground and sometimes prosecuted. One of the attempts to break out of the underground to more public view was the Belyayevo exhibition. It was organised by three underground artists, Oscar Rabin (artist), Youri Jarkikh (Jarki) and Alexander Gleser. Among the artists taking part in the exhibition were Evgeny Rukhin, Valentin Vorobyov (b. 1938), Vladimir Nemukhin, Lidiya Masterkova, Borukh Steinberg, Nadegda Elskaja, Alexander Rabin, Vasilij Sitnikov, Vera Sell-Ryazanoff, Vitaly Komar, Alexander Melamid, and Igor Sinyavin. It was held on a vacant lot, officially part of an urban forest in Belyayevo. Attendance consisted of approximately twenty artists and a group of spectators that included relatives, friends of the artists, friends of the friends and some Western journalists. The paintings were installed on makeshift stands made out of dump wood. The organizer Oscar Rabin told in an interview in London in 2010: "The exhibition was prepared as a political act against the oppressive regime, rather than an artistic event. I knew that we'd be in trouble, that we could be arrested, beaten. There could be public trials. The last two days before the event were very scary, we were anxious about our fate. Knowing that virtually anything can happen to you is frightening." Rabin was arrested and punished with expulsion from Russia, but was allowed to leave with his family to Paris.Despite the minor size of the event it was considered by the authorities as very serious. They marshalled a large group of attackers that included three bulldozers, water cannons, dump trucks and hundreds of off-duty policemen. Officially, the group was supposed to be "gardeners" expanding the urban forest, who reacted in spontaneous outrage to the offense against their proletarian sensibilities. It was never denied, though, that they got their orders from the KGB. The attackers destroyed the paintings, beat and arrested the artists, spectators and journalists. One of the most dramatic scenes was Oscar Rabin who went through the exhibition hanging to the blade of the bulldozer. One of the attackers, militsia lieutenant Avdeenko, memorably shouted at the artists: "You should be shot! Only you are not worth the ammunition ..." ("Стрелять вас надо! Только патронов жалко..."). Rabin later recounted the horror of seeing art crushed and artists arrested: "It was very frightening … The bulldozer was a symbol of an authoritarian regime just like the Soviet tanks in Prague." Two of his own paintings – a landscape and a still life – were among those flattened by bulldozers or burned by the invading KGB.After the event was widely publicized in the Western media, embarrassed authorities were forced to allow a similar open air exhibition in the Izmailovo urban forest two weeks later on 29 September 1974. The new exhibition of works of 40 artists was held for four hours and was visited by thousands of people (the numbers cited differ from one and a half thousand [1] to twenty-five thousand [2]). A participant in the exhibitions, Boris Zhutkov, has said that the quality of the Izmaylovo paintings was much lower than the paintings in Belyayevo, since in the original exhibition the artists showed the best paintings they had only to have most of them destroyed. The four hours in the forest of the Izmailovo exhibition has often been remembered as "The Half-day of Freedom." The Izmailovo exhibition in turn gave way to other exhibitions of nonconformist art which were very important in the history of modern Russian art.

Konkovo District (Russian: Коньково райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of South-Western Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. The area of the district is 7.179 square kilometers (2.772 sq mi). Population: 97,847 (2017 est.).It is located in the south of the city, along the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya (orange) metro line.

Obruchevsky District (Russian: О́бручевский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twelve in South-Western Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 78,619.

South-Western Administrative Okrug (Russian: Ю́го-За́падный администрати́вный о́круг, romanized: Yugo-Zapadny administrativny okrug), or Yugo-Zapadny Administrative Okrug, is one of the twelve high-level territorial divisions (administrative okrugs) of the federal city of Moscow, Russia. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 1,362,751, up from 1,179,211 recorded during the 2002 Census.

Profsoyuznaya Street (name since 7 February 1958) is a street in the South-Western Administrative Okrug of Moscow in the Akademichesky, Konkovo, Obruchevsky, Tyoply Stan, Cheryomushki, and Yasenevo districts. The street runs from Ho Chi Minh Square to the Moscow Ring Road. Further beyond the Moscow Ring Road, it continues as the federal highway A130 to Troitsk, Obninsk, and Roslavl and is called Kaluzhskoye Highway. Profsoyuznaya Street intersects Dmitry Ulyanov Street (Ho Chi Minh Square at the intersection), Kedrov, Krzhizhanovsky, Nakhimovsky Prospekt (Josip Broz Tito Square at the intersection), Garibaldi, Nametkin, Obruchev, Butlerov, Miklouho-Maclay Streets (Martin Luther King Square at the intersection), Ostrovityanov Streets; to the left of Profsoyuznaya Street, General Antonov Street (between Butlerova and Miklukho-Maklaya Streets), Sanatornaya Alley leading to the Uzkoye estate, Novoyasenevsky Prospekt branch off from Profsoyuznaya Street; on the right, Tyoply Stan and (in the immediate vicinity of the Moscow Ring Road) General Tyulenev streets merge into it. Profsoyuznaya Street is one of the main thoroughfares of the south-west of Moscow. From the Konkovo metro station to the intersection with Akademika Kapitsa Street, it also acts as a border between the Konkovo and Tyoply Stan districts.

The Russian Space Research Institute (Russian: Институт космических исследований Российской академии наук, Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, SRI RAS, Russian abbreviation: ИКИ РАН, IKI RAN) is the leading organization of the Russian Academy of Sciences on space exploration to benefit fundamental science. It was formerly known as the Space Research Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Russian abbr.: ИКИ АН СССР, IKI AN SSSR). It is usually known by the shorter name Space Research Institute and especially by the initialism IKI. The institute is located in Moscow with a staff of 289 scientists. It conducts scientific research in the fields of astrophysics, planetary science, solar physics, Sun-Earth relations, cosmic plasma, and geophysics. IKI also develops and tests space technologies in collaboration with the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Federal Space Agency.

This enclave of scientific research is officially known as Astro Space Center of PN Lebedev Physics Institute, (ASC LPI, Russian: Астрокосмический центр Физического института Академии Наук) and is under the purview of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Generally speaking, the space center's mission focuses on astrophysics, which includes cosmology. The emphasis is on accomplishing basic research in this science. The research leads into exploring the composition, and structure of astronomical objects, interstellar and interplanetary space along with exploring how these evolved.

Moscow metropolitan area (Russian: Московская агломерация) or Moscow capital region (Russian: Московский столичный регион) is the largest metropolitan area in Russia and Europe, with a population of around 20 million. It consists of the city of Moscow and parts of the surrounding Moscow Oblast. The related terms Moscow region (Russian: Московский регион - Moskovsky region) or Moscow and the Oblast (Russian: Москва и область) describe of the combined territories of the city of Moscow and the whole of Moscow Oblast. These are used in meteorology, geography, aviation, transport, broadcasting, telecommunications, business, etc. In politics, government, organizations and small business, according to the Constitution of Russia, there are two separated federal subjects of Russia with their governments, parliaments and own law. De jure there is no united Moscow region.
