Noughaval

Noughaval (Irish: Nuachabháil) is a small village in the townland with the same name in County Clare, Ireland. It is said to be the site where St. Mogua founded a monastery. The name means so much as "new monastic settlement". The old church is from the twelfth century but using older stonework. The present church is the Church of St. Mochua. This was originally a Protestant church in 1860, located in Ballyvaughan, but carefully disassembled and moved to Noughaval. It entered service again in 1943. A stone pillar near the church is said to be a market cross.

Kilcorney (Irish: Cill Choirne) (sometimes also Kilcornane) is a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It lies in the Burren region of the northwest of the county.

Part of the structure is occasionally used as a place of worship by the Church of Ireland and it includes a bishop's throne among its furniture. Kilfenora (Irish: Cill Fhionnúrach [ˌciːl̠ʲ ˈɪn̪ˠuːɾˠəx], meaning 'Church of the Fertile Hillside' or 'Church of the White Brow') is a village and a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It is situated south of the karst limestone region known as the Burren. Since medieval times when it was the episcopal see of the Bishop of Kilfenora, it has been known as the "City of the Crosses" for its seven (now five) high crosses. The village had around 220 inhabitants in 2011. Much of the TV show Father Ted (1995–98) was filmed there.

St. Fachanan, Kilfenora parish is a parish in County Clare and part of the Kilfenora Deanery of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. Current (2021) parish priest is Edward Crosby.The parish incorporates the parish of Kiltoraght.The main church of the parish is the Church of St. Fachanan in Kilfenora, mentioned in or shortly before 1837. The second church of the parish is the Church of St. Attracta in de townland Toormore in Kiltoraght. According to Samuel Lewis, this church was built while writing his book "County Clare: A History and Topography", published in 1837.The history of the parish is rather chequered, with beginnings around the year 590 when an abbey was founded here. The role of the abbey was recognized at the Synod of Kells and then elevated to be an separate diocese: Bishop of Kilfenora. The bishop had his see in Kilfenora Cathedral.

Kiltoraght (Irish: Cill Tórachta) is a civil parish in County Clare, Ireland. It is just south of Kilfenora and is part of Catholic parish of Kilfenora.

Leamaneh Castle is a ruined castle located in the townland of Leamaneh North, parish of Kilnaboy, between the villages of Corofin and Kilfenora at the border of the region known as the Burren in County Clare, Ireland. It consists of a 15th-century tower house and a 17th-century mansion.

Poulnabrone dolmen (Irish: Poll na Brón, lit. 'Hole of Sorrow') is a large dolmen (or cromlech, a type of single-chamber portal tomb) located in the Burren, County Clare, Ireland. Situated on one of the most desolate and highest points of the region, it comprises three standing portal stones supporting a heavy horizontal capstone, and dates to the early Neolithic period, with estimates to between 4200 BC and 2900 BC. Although not the largest, it is the best known of the approximately 172 dolmens in Ireland. It was constructed on a karst landscape formed from limestone laid down around 350 million years ago. The dolmen was built by Neolithic farmers, who chose the location either for ritual, as a territorial marker, or as a collective burial site. What remains today is only the "stone skeleton" of the original monument; originally it would have been covered with soil, and its flagstone capped by a cairn. When the site was excavated in 1986 and again in 1988, around 33 human remains, including those of adults, children (and the remains of a much later Bronze Age infant) were found buried underneath it. Also discovered were various stone and bone objects that would have been placed with the dead at the time of interment. The human remains and objects are estimated to have been buried intermittently during the 600 year period between 3800 and 3200 BC.
