459 West 18th Street is a mid-rise condominium located at that address in the West Chelsea neighborhood of the New York City borough of Manhattan. It is an 11-story building with retail space on its ground floor and 10 residential units, one on each floor, for a total of 29,700 square feet (2,760 m2). Della Valle + Bernheimer of Brooklyn was the architect. To ensure that its design was built as intended, the architects developed the property themselves, which also saved time and money on construction, important during the financial crisis of 2007–2008, through Alloy Development, a subsidiary. They chose to have it sheathed in black composite and white glass, delineated by an irregularly shaped boundary on the building's upper stories meant to call attention to complex local zoning requirements. After it was finished in 2008, the building was quickly occupied as buyers, including CNBC anchor Simon Hobbs, were drawn by the nearby presence of the newly opened High Line. The year afterward it earned Architect magazine's Annual Design Review Award for Multi-Family Housing.

Chelsea Modern is a 12-story residential condominium building at 447 West 18th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan, United States, next to 459 West 18th Street. It was built by Madison Equities in 2009 and designed by Audrey Matlock. It has 47 apartments. It is notable for its horizontally angled façade that conjures the ripples on the nearby Hudson River, and for its windows that open outwards parallel to the façade and let air in, when open, on all four sides of the window. It also has duplex apartments with gallery spaces partially lit by translucent skylights that are part of the building's sidewalk.

Bellwether Gallery was a New York City art gallery based in Chelsea. Director and owner Becky Smith was recognized as an important promoter of emerging artists since the gallery's 1999 opening in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. Located in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, it began as a roller skating rink and roller disco in 1978, founded by Steve Bauman, Richard Newhouse and Steve Greenberg. It was acquired in 1985 by Gene DiNino. The Roxy shut down permanently in March 2007.

Stray Kat Gallery is a contemporary art gallery owned and directed by Kat Dahl, Zane Fix, and Stella Michaels. In May 2012, Stray Kat Gallery made its debut at 88 Tenth Avenue as the only art gallery in New York's Chelsea Market, underneath the High Line Park. The success of the gallery's first exhibition in the 4,000-square-foot space led to a year-long run in the Chelsea Market. On November 21, 2013, Stray Kat Gallery opened as the pioneers of the Meatpacking District, in an abandoned auto detailing garage, underneath the High Line Park. Art gallery openings, concerts, including Rob Fusari, former Lady Gaga producer, and fashion shows were on constant rotation. As always, the works of SKG's star artists, Stella Michaels, and Zane Fix, were showcased monthly, as featured guest artists were chosen for rotational exhibits. In June 2014, Stray Kat's voyage continued into an 8,000-square-foot space at 450 W. 14th St. Featuring the works of Ms. Michaels and Mr. Fix, the gallery kept a steady flow of concurrent exhibitions, including a wide variety of painters, printmakers and photographers. An exclusive article with Interview Magazine was published on July 22, 2014. On September 18, 2014, a private launch party was held for publisher Lee Herandez.

Chelsea Market is a food hall, shopping mall, office building and television production facility located in the Chelsea neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan, in New York City. The Chelsea Market complex occupies an entire city block with a connecting bridge over Tenth Avenue to the adjacent 85 Tenth Avenue building. The High Line passes through the 10th Avenue side of the building. Chelsea Market was constructed in the 1890s and was originally the site of the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) factory complex where the Oreo cookie was invented and produced. The complex was redeveloped in the 1990s and features a retail concourse at ground level with office space above. Chelsea Market is currently owned by Alphabet Inc., parent company of Google. Chelsea Market lies within the "Gansevoort Market Historic District", which is recognized by New York State and National Register of Historic Places.
