Houston Southwest Airport or Houston-Southwest Airport (ICAO: KAXH, FAA LID: AXH) is a public-use airport located in Arcola, a city in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, 15 miles (24 km) southwest of the central business district of Houston. It is privately owned by James Griffith, Jr.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Houston Southwest Airport is assigned AXH by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

Arcola is a city in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The population was 2,034 as of the 2020 census, an increase over the figure of 1,642 tabulated by the 2010 census, which represented, in turn, an increase over the 2000 figure of 1,048. Arcola incorporated in 1986.

Sienna, formerly known as Sienna Plantation, is a census-designated place and master-planned community located in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States. It is mostly in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Missouri City. The population was 20,204 at the 2020 census, up from 13,721 at the 2010 census.

Hightower High School is a secondary school (grades 9–12) located at 3333 Hurricane Lane, Missouri City, Texas, United States, adjacent to The Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road. Hightower is administered by Fort Bend Independent School District and its mascot is Poseidon, but they are known as the Hightower Hurricanes. Hightower serves parts of Missouri City, a portion of the city of Arcola, sections of the unincorporated area of Fresno, a small section of western Pearland, and the neighborhood of Lake Shore Harbour, which is located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Missouri City. Hightower previously served the rest of Arcola, sections of master-planned community of Sienna Plantation, and the unincorporated area of Juliff.The school is named after Lockhart Valentine (L.V.) Hightower, a former principal in the district. Hightower had served as an American football coach for Sugar Land High School.

Hawdon was a town and rail station in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, alternately known as Howden, Hawdon Junction, and Arcola. It was located just north of Juliff, and south of Arcola. It was served by the International–Great Northern Railroad via the Columbia Branch. A rail switch was located at Hawdon to connect the Sugar Land Railroad near the (still extant) Palestine Missionary Baptist Church to House Junction. Passenger service ended in 1920, but the rail line through town lasted until the 1980s. The main road through town is Farm to Market Road 521. A church cemetery served the community at one time, but it has not been located.

Ridge Point High School (RPHS) is a public high school located in Sienna (formerly Sienna Plantation), an unincorporated area and planned community in Fort Bend County, Texas. Opened in 2010, the school serves more than 3000 students in grades 9–12. It is classified as a 6A school by the UIL. The principal is Leonard Brogan. The school's attendance boundary includes: portions of Sienna. It formerly served the following areas: other portions of Sienna, a portion of Fresno, most of Arcola, and Juliff.

Fresno is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States. The local population was 24,486 as of the 2020 census, an increase over the figure of 19,069 tabulated in 2010 census, and 6,603 at the 2000 census. Fresno is located in the extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of Houston, which is the fourth largest city in the nation in population. Fresno is bordered by Houston to the north, the suburban Fort Bend County cities of Missouri City to the west and northwest, Arcola to the south and southwest, and the Brazoria County city of Pearland to the east.

Juliff is an unincorporated community in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States. It is a part of the Greater Houston metropolitan area.

KHOU (channel 11) is a television station in Houston, Texas, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside Conroe-licensed Quest station KTBU (channel 55). Both stations share studios on Westheimer Road near Uptown Houston, while KHOU's transmitter is located near Missouri City, in unincorporated northeastern Fort Bend County.

Trammels (sometimes spelled Trammells) was an unincorporated area near State Highway 6 in eastern Fort Bend County.

KYAZ (channel 51) is a television station licensed to Katy, Texas, United States, serving as the Houston area outlet for the classic television network MeTV. Owned and operated by Weigel Broadcasting, the station maintains studios at One Arena Place on Bissonnet Street on Houston's southwest side, and its transmitter is located near Missouri City, Texas.

KTBU (channel 55) is a television station licensed to Conroe, Texas, United States, serving as the Houston area outlet for the digital multicast network Quest. It is owned and operated by Tegna Inc. alongside CBS affiliate KHOU (channel 11). Both stations share studios on Westheimer Road near Uptown Houston, while KTBU's transmitter is located near Missouri City, in unincorporated northeastern Fort Bend County. Previously, KTBU maintained separate facilities on Old Katy Road in the northwest side of Houston, while the KHOU studios only housed KTBU's master control and some internal operations.
