Hobart Town Hall

Ingle Hall is a landmark building in Hobart, Tasmania on the corner of Macquarie and Argyle Streets. It has served numerous purposes over its history and is vacant; it was most recently used as The Mercury print museum. It is unknown when the building was built as it predates any government record holding by the state of Tasmania, which began in 1822. It is named for John Ingle, one of the two possible first inhabitants of the building.It was listed on the Register of the National Estate until that list was archived in 2007, and is on the Tasmanian Heritage Register. It is alleged to be the oldest building in Hobart (and therefore Tasmania), but this is not proven.

Old Government House was the former official residence and home of the Governor of Tasmania from 1807 to 1858, when it was demolished following completion of the modern Government House, Hobart on the Queens Domain. It was located approximately where Hobart Town Hall and Franklin Square stand now. It was built sometime between 1805 and 1810 with dates varying according to sources and at least during 1831 housed the Tasmanian Parliament as well as being the residence of the Governor and meeting place of the Tasmanian Society, a precursor to the Royal Society of Tasmania. The Tasmanian Parliament moved to the modern Parliament House, Hobart in 1841, and following the construction of the modern Government House the old house was demolished. It had earlier been reserved for the location of the new Town hall and a Franklin monument, which were both later built there and continue to stand to this day.

General Post Office (abbreviation GPO, commonly known as the Hobart GPO) is a landmark building located on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Macquarie Street in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It stands next to the former Mercury Building and has served as the headquarters of the Tasmanian Postal system since its construction in 1905, though mail processing has now been moved to Glenorchy. It has been listed on the Commonwealth Heritage List since 2004.

The Prince of Wales Theatre was a theatre on Macquarie Street, Hobart, Tasmania from 1910 to 1987.

The Hydro-Electric Commission Building is a historic art deco building in the central business district of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It was designed by the firm of A & K Henderson in 1938 as the headquarters of the Hydro-Electric Commission, the state-government hydro power authority. It is presently owned by the City of Hobart, operated as the Hobart Council Centre, serving the council and community organisations including start up incubator Enterprize. It is permanently registered on the Tasmanian Heritage Register.

The Maritime Museum of Tasmania is a privately operated maritime museum dedicated to the history of Tasmania's association with the sea, ships, and ship-building, and is located at Carnegie House in Sullivans Cove, Hobart, Tasmania.

Franklin Square is a 1.6-acre (0.63-hectare) oak-lined public square located in the Hobart City Centre in Tasmania, Australia. It is named for Sir John Franklin, a renown Arctic explorer and former Lieutenant-Governor of Van Diemen's Land. The centrepiece of the park is a statue of Franklin, with an epitaph written by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. As the city's most central urban parkland and transportation hub, Franklin Square is frequently utilised for festive markets, public gatherings and as a place for public protest.

The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) is a museum located in Hobart, Tasmania. The museum was established in 1846, by the Royal Society of Tasmania, the oldest Royal Society outside England. The TMAG receives 400,000 visitors annually.

The Hobart Interchange (also colloquially referred to as the Hobart Bus Mall) is a section of Elizabeth Street that serves as Metro Tasmania's primary bus terminus in Hobart's CBD. It is utilised by thousands of commuters every day, bringing city workers into Hobart from outlying suburbs, and the neighbouring cities of Clarence and Glenorchy, as well as nearby Richmond, Cambridge and Kingborough. The mall is the section of Elizabeth Street, located between Macquarie Street, and Collins Street. There are also several stops located in nearby Franklin Square.

NAB House (formerly known as the AMP Building) is an A-grade office building situated in Hobart, Tasmania.

The Hope and Anchor Tavern (formerly Hope and Anchor Hotel, the Alexandra, the Whale Fishery and the Hope) is an Australian pub in Hobart, Tasmania. Built in 1807, it is the oldest continually licensed pub in Australia. However, The Bush Inn in New Norfolk claims to be the oldest operating Australian pub, because their venue has operated continuously since it opened in 1815 whereas the Hope and Anchor Tavern has had periods of closure (whilst still holding their licence) since opening in 1807. The Hope and Anchor Tavern is referred to in 'Captain A E Sykes: memoirs'It was reopened in 2014 after the building and its extensive antique collection were purchased by Chinese developer Kim Xing for A$1.5 million. The property was then leased to Robert Wilson and licensed to Daniel Cullen. whose goal was to preserve a piece of Tasmanian history. The building has been listed on the Tasmanian Heritage Register since 1998. The Hope and Anchor Tavern was owned for many years by Gunter Jaeger, who also owns Boomer Island. In 2015, the owner and licensee was Daniel Cullen.

It is owned by Healthscope, one of Australia's leading providers of hospitals, medical and pathology centres. The Hobart Private Hospital provides private health care specialising in the areas of emergency, cardiac, maternity, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, urology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, respiratory medicine, rehab and general surgery. In December 2019, after previous discussions ended in a stalemate, it was announced that the lease to Healthscope would be renewed for another 20 years.
