The Strathcona Refinery is an oil refinery located in Strathcona County adjacent to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, owned by Imperial Oil. The refinery provides oil products, primarily gasoline, aviation fuel, diesel, lubricating oils, petroleum waxes, heavy fuel oil and asphalts.The refinery was built in 1975 and replaced older refineries in Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, and Calgary.A fire occurred at the refinery in 2007 that resulted it in temporarily operating at reduced capacity.

It was created from most of Edmonton-Highlands and part of Edmonton-Beverly, and its name was changed back to Edmonton-Highlands in 1997, with no boundary changes.

Rundle Park is a municipal park in Edmonton, Canada, and a major park in the North Saskatchewan River Valley parks system. The park overlooks the North Saskatchewan River, and there is a pedestrian bridge that connects Gold Bar Park and Rundle Park together. The park features paved paths, sport amenities, and numerous ponds. The Town of Beverly amalgamated with Edmonton in 1961, and portions of Rundle Park were formerly the Town of Beverly’s garbage dump.

Refinery Row is the unofficial name given to the concentration of oil refineries in west Sherwood Park, Strathcona County, Alberta, just east of the city of Edmonton. The area is roughly bounded on the south by the Sherwood Park Freeway (Highway 100), on the north by the North Saskatchewan River and Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16), on the east by Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216), and on the west by 50 Street. Other major roads that run through the area include: 34 Street, 17 Street NW, and 101 Avenue/Baseline Road. The district is dominated by two refineries: the Strathcona Refinery (Imperial Oil), can process 187,000 barrels (29,700 m3) of crude oil per day; and the Suncor Edmonton Refinery (Suncor Energy), which can process 135,000 barrels per day (21,500 m3/d)The other main refineries in the Edmonton area are also located in Strathcona County, in a separate concentration around Scotford, Alberta. Refinery Row suffered F4 damage from the Edmonton Tornado on July 31, 1987.

Newton is a residential neighbourhood located in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The neighbourhood is bounded on the south by Alberta (118) Avenue, on the north by the Yellowhead Trail, on the east by 50 Street, and on the west by 58 Street. Northlands Coliseum and the Coliseum LRT station are located a short distance to the west of the neighbourhood. The community is represented by the Newton Community League, established in 1954, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 55 Street and 121 Avenue.

Highlands is a residential neighbourhood in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada overlooking the North Saskatchewan River valley. The area was annexed by Edmonton in 1912, and "was named in a contest offering a 50-dollar prize." In 2012, Highlands was ranked one of Canada's top ten neighbourhoods of old homes by the magazine This Old House. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by Montrose and Newton at 118 (Alberta) Avenue, on the east by Beverly Heights at 50 Street, on the west by Bellevue at 67 Street, and on the south by the North Saskatchewan River valley. Interchanges between Wayne Gretzky Drive and both 118 Avenue and 112 Avenue give residents access to destinations south of the river including Whyte Avenue and the University of Alberta. Residents also have access to Northlands, the (former) Coliseum, Commonwealth Stadium and Concordia University of Edmonton. All four facilities are located a short distance west of the neighbourhood. The community is represented by the Highlands Community League, established in 1921, which maintains a community hall, outdoor rink, and a lawn bowling club located at 61 Street and 113 Avenue.

Hermitage is a residential area in the northeast portion of the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. It was established in 1970 through Edmonton City Council's adoption of the Hermitage General Outline Plan, which guides the overall development of the area.Named after the ca. 1870s mission run by Anglican Rev. Fulton Creek is a minor tributary which flows into the North Saskatchewan River. Fulton Creek originates within The Meadows area of Edmonton, Alberta. As with other urban Edmonton waterways, with long stretches running through underground culverts, and water volume managed by other urban land uses and for erosion control, Fulton Creek has been labeled a lost creek.
