Mahmud Esad Coşan (14 April 1938 – 4 February 2001) was a Turkish academic author, preacher, professor of Islam and Naqshbandi leader.

Piyer Loti Museum is a museum in Istanbul, Turkey. Piyer Loti refers to Pierre Loti (1850–1923), the French novelist who spent a part of his life in Istanbul.

The Eyüp Gondola, a.k.a. Eyüp–Piyerloti Aerial Cable Car, (Turkish: TF2 Eyüp–Piyerloti teleferik hattı) is a two-station gondola-type line of aerial lift passenger transport system located in Eyüp district of Istanbul, Turkey. Opened on November 30, 2005, the 384 m (1,260 ft) long line serves the Piyerloti Hill from Eyüp at the coast of Golden Horn. It is operated under the line number Tf2 by Istanbul Transport Company, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The fare is paid by the contactless smart card of Istanbulkart, which is valid at all public transport in Istanbul.

Bahariye Mevlevihanesi (Beşiktaş Mevlevi house - Bahariye Mevlevi lodge) was the third establishment after Galata and Yenikapı Mevlevi houses and established in 1613 by the Ottoman Grand Vizier Ohrili Hüseyin Pasha in Beşiktaş, Istanbul. The Beşiktaş Mevlevihane was a building that suffered a number of misfortunes; first of all it was demolished to make way for the Çırağan Palace and rebuilt next to the graveyard in Maçka. It was again demolished to make way for the new barracks being built on the orders of Sultan Abdülaziz, and rebuilt yet again on a site beside the Golden Horn in the Bahariye neighbourhood, which is on the road leading from Eyüp to Alibeyköy, thus gaining a new lease of life. The Bahariye Mevlevihane, which consisted of a number of timber buildings resembling mansions, added a further dimension of beauty to this part of the Golden Horn. However, after the closure of the dervish convents these buildings were either destroyed by fire or demolished and nothing survives to indicate where it once stood.

The Mihrişah Sultan Complex (Turkish: Mihrişah Valide Sultan Külliyesi) is a külliye (Ottoman charitable foundation) founded by Mihrişah Sultan in the late 18th century. The complex is located next to the Eyüp Sultan Mosque complex in Istanbul, Turkey. The complex's largest component is an imaret (soup kitchen) which is notable for being one of the last imarets in Istanbul to still serve its original purpose. The rest of the complex is also notable for the founder's mausoleum and for its ornate street-facing sebil, all built in the Ottoman Baroque style.

The Eyüp Sultan Mosque (Turkish: Eyüp Sultan Camii) is a mosque situated in the Eyüp district of Istanbul, outside the city walls near the Golden Horn. The present building dates from the beginning of the 19th century. The mosque complex includes a mausoleum marking the spot where Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, the standard-bearer and friend of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, is said to have been buried.

Sütlüce is a neighborhood in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey, located at the eastern bank of Golden Horn across Eyüp. Istanbul's main slaughterhouse was situated in Sütlüce. The facility, which caused great air and water pollution to the natural environment at Golden Horn, was abandoned in 1984 after 61 years of service. In accordance with the city's urban redevelopment plan and following the establishment of Miniatürk, SantralIstanbul and Rahmi M. Koç Museum around and the transformation of the old slaughterhouse into a modern congress complex, Sütlüce became a center of attraction for real estate investors.

Haliç Congress Center (Turkish: Haliç Kongre Merkezi), formerly Karağaç Slaughterhouse (Karağaç Mezbahası) or Sütlüce Slaughterhouse (Sütlüce Mezbahası), is a building initially opened in 1923 in order to ensure hygienic slaughtering and supervision in Istanbul. Its architect is Vedat Tek. Since 2009, it has been used as a congress and cultural center, under the name of Haliç Congress Center.

Eyüp Pier (Turkish: Eyüp İskelesi) is a ferry slip on the Golden Horn in Eyüp, Istanbul. Located just south of Piyerloti Park, it is the westernmost pier on the Golden Horn. The Municipal ferry operator, Şehir Hatları, operates hourly ferry service from Eyüp to Üsküdar, stopping at seven other piers on the Golden Horn. This route is known as the Golden Horn Line.It is unclear when Eyüp Pier was built, although public ferry service has been operating since the mid 19th century. The pier was rebuilt in 1989.

The Zal Mahmud Pasha Mosque (Turkish: Zal Mahmut Paşa Camii) is a 16th-century Ottoman mosque located in the Eyüp district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was designed by the imperial architect Mimar Sinan and completed in 1590.

The Defterdar Mosque, or the Defterdar Mahmut Efendi Mosque (Turkish: Defterdar Camii, Defterdar Mahmut Efendi Camii), is 16th century Ottoman mosque located in Eyüp, Istanbul, Turkey. It was commissioned by Defterdar Nazlı Mahmut Efendi (c. 1500–1546) and built by architect Mimar Sinan in 1542 ("defterdar" was the head of the financial department in Ottoman Empire). Instead of a crescent, this mosque has "ink pot and pen" on top of its dome, representing the profession of the founder of the mosque. (since "defterdar" means chamberlain, literally it means defter:notebook + dar:suffix for "doer"). The original pair was broken by a storm in 1997. Ten years later, on 30 May 2007, a new inkpot and a pen assembled on top of the dome of the mosque.
