The Church of St. James the Great is an Anglican church in the Lower Gornal area of Sedgley in the West Midlands, England. The church is Grade II listed, a status it received on 11 March 1996. It is located within the Anglican Diocese of Worcester.Construction of the church commenced in 1815 and was completed in 1817 although it came into use in 1823. It was designed by Thomas Lee and built of local yellow stone with slate and tile roofs. The church was enlarged in 1837 to add north and south porches. It was refitted in 1849 with the addition of a chancel. The chancel was rebuilt and an organ was added in 1899 and in 1930, the top section of the tower was rebuilt. The north window of the apse was produced by Ninian Comper in 1902.It is not to be confused with St James's Church at Eve Hill in nearby Dudley, some two miles away.

Gornal is a village and electoral ward in the Dudley Metropolitan Borough, in the West Midlands of England. It encompasses the three historical villages of Upper Gornal, Lower Gornal, and Gornal Wood. Gornal was historically part of Staffordshire, prior to the creation of the West Midlands County in 1974. Gornal is 11 miles from Birmingham. The three Gornal villages were originally a part of the ancient manor of Sedgley until 1894, when the area became part of Sedgley Urban District. In 1966, along with most of the rest of Sedgley, it was merged into the County Borough of Dudley. Since 1974, it has been part of the larger Metropolitan Borough of Dudley. Gornal stone, a variety of limestone, originates in Gornal.Himley Hall and Park and Baggeridge Country Park are notable nearby visitor attractions.

Milking Bank is a residential area of Dudley, West Midlands, England. It is a modern development which began in about 1984 with the construction of new houses in an isolated area more than a mile to the west of Dudley town centre, near the border with Sedgley, which had been mined for coal since the 19th century. Further developments of private housing took place on this land between Himley Road and Dibdale Road and by the end of the 1980s there were several hundred houses in Milking Bank, as well as a primary school. Further development took place after the demolition of nearby Burton Road Hospital in 1994, with the construction of further housing on the north side of Dibdale Road. At the end of the decade, further houses - as well as a Co-operative society supermarket - were built on the west of Milking Bank joining onto Grosvenor Road. This latest development was a mix of private homes as well as ones leased out by a housing association. The estate is served by a public house, the Meadow Lark, as well as a doctor's surgery. A Spar minimarket opened in the mid-1980s, around the time that the first houses were built. This later became a Bargain Booze store, but it was burnt down in a suspected arson attack in 2011. This was then rebuilt and for a short time opened as a Costcutter, but by January 2015 had closed. As of June 2018 this shop is now occupied by a "local" shop franchise.

Barrow Hill Local Nature Reserve is a local nature reserve situated in Pensnett in the county of West Midlands, England. Its most distinctive feature, Barrow Hill, is the eroded remnant of a high level igneous intrusion that was formed 315 million years ago during the Carboniferous period. The reserve was created in 2005.

Ellowes Hall Sports College (formerly Ellowes Hall School) is a comprehensive secondary school and sixth form situated on Stickley Lane in Lower Gornal, Dudley, West Midlands, England. It provides education for pupils aged 11 to 18 years.

Ellowes Hall was a stately home located in Sedgley, Staffordshire (now West Midlands). It was built in 1821 in parkland near Lower Gornal village as the home of wealthy local ironmonger John Fereday and his family. Over the next 100 years or more, successive different wealthy owners lived in the house. It remained in the ownership of the Fereday family until 1850, when it was sold to fellow industrialist William Baldwin until 1865, when it became the residence of Charles Cochrane, Mayor of Dudley. The next resident was Sir Horace St Paul, who moved there in the early 1870s and lived there until his death in 1891. The next occupant was Bilston county councillor John Gibbons, who lived there until his death in 1919, when it was sold to the Mitchell family. The Mitchell family lived in the house until 1923, when it was sold to Henry Arthur Nock, who owned the house until his death in 1946. After the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939, Ellowes Hall was used as a Home Guard headquarters. The Nock family sold the house to Staffordshire Education Authority in 1963, and it was demolished in 1964 - the same year that a new secondary school with the same name was built within its grounds. More than 40 years on, the "old coach road" which connected the hall with nearby Moden Hill is still in existence as a public footpath, but motor vehicles are no longer allowed to use it. The surrounding woodland, which forms part of Cotwall End Valley, is still known locally as Ellowes Hall Wood.

Cotwall End Valley is a local nature reserve in West Midlands, England. It is about a mile south of Sedgley, in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley. It incorporates some of the grounds of Ellowes Hall, a stately home built in the early 19th century and demolished in 1964, which has led to the wooded part of the valley being known locally as "Ellowes Hall Wood".

Pensnett is an area of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, West Midlands, England, 2.3 miles (3.7 km) south-west of central Dudley. Pensnett has been a part of Dudley since 1966, when the Brierley Hill Urban District, of which it was a part, was absorbed into the County Borough of Dudley, later the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley from 1974.

Dudley North is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Marco Longhi, of the Conservative Party. Campaigns in the seat have resulted in a minimum of 30% of votes at each election consistently for the same two parties' choice for candidate, and the next highest-placed share having fluctuated between 5.5% and 24% of the vote since its creation: for differing parties, the highest placed of these having been the UK Independence Party. The seat attracted seven candidates in 1997 and 2015 and four in 2001. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be expanded to include the Dudley Borough ward of Brockmoor and Pensnett from Dudley South. As this seat is disappearing, the revised Dudley North constituency will be renamed Dudley, to be first contested at the next general election.

Dudley is a parliamentary constituency centred on the town of Dudley in Worcestershire (now in the West Midlands). It returns one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first past the post system. The constituency existed between 1832 and 1974 and was re-established by the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies for the 2024 general election. The new constituency is based on the abolished Dudley North, with the addition of one ward from the also abolished Dudley South constituency.
