Båstad Church

Båstad (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈbôːsta(d)]) is a locality and the seat of Båstad Municipality, Scania County, Sweden, with approximately 5,000 permanent residents. It is however one of Sweden's most typical summer resorts. The population is presumably more than twice as large between April and September, and even larger during July. Its municipality follows a similar pattern: some 15,000 permanent residents, but more than 30,000 during July. Some villages within the municipality are almost empty during the winter, but have more than 2,000 "summer guests" during July. Torekov is a good example of this. Within Sweden, Båstad is well known for tennis. The largest centre court in Sweden is located in the town's centre, and can take more than 5,000 attendants. Several top national players, such as Björn Borg, Mats Wilander and Stefan Edberg, have played tennis in Båstad.

Båstad Municipality (Swedish: Båstads kommun) is a municipality in Skåne County in South Sweden, located in Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Båstad. The present municipality was established in 1971 when the market town (köping) Båstad was amalgamated with the surrounding rural municipalities. One parish was transferred from Halland County.

The Swedish Open is a professional tennis tournament held in Båstad, Sweden. It is played on outdoor clay courts in July. The men's event (sponsored by Skistar) is an ATP Tour 250 tournament on the ATP Tour. The women's event (sponsored by Collector) was held between 2009 and 2017 as an International tournament and successor to the Nordic Light Open in Stockholm, and from 2019 onwards is a challenger-level tournament.

The Båstad Tennis Stadium (Swedish: Båstads tennisstadion) is a tennis complex in Båstad, Sweden. Since its opening, the venue has been the host of the annual men's 250 series tournament, the Swedish Open. Since 2009, the venue has hosted the women's tournament. Båstad Tennis Stadium has a capacity of 5,000. The history of the Båstad Tennis Stadium can be traced back to 1907, when the first tennis courts at what is known as Båstad Tennis Stadium were built. In 2001, the Båstad Tennis Stadium was renovated.

Gardens (Swedish: Norrvikens trädgårdar) is a garden, located about 3 kilometers northwest of Båstad in Skåne County, Sweden. It was founded by horticulturist and pomologist Carl Rudolf Zacharias Abelin (1864-1961). Norrviken's gardens were started as an experimental garden and as a home for his family. From 1986, Norrviken Gardens was run as a limited company with the Norrviken Gardens Foundation as a guarantee that the plant was maintained and developed in the spirit of Abelin. The garden was chosen as the most beautiful park in Sweden and the second most beautiful in Europe in 2006. Due to financial issues the park has begun to fall into decline. Different interest groups are doing efforts to come up with new ways to fund the park, but disagreements between the groups have hampered the development of the park. In 2013, the Board of Directors of the Foundation decided that a bankruptcy application should be filed. In 2013, the gardens with its main building Villa Abelin were sold to the company, Lilla Båstad. Today Villa Abelin houses shops, a restaurant and a gallery.

Mellbystrand is a locality situated in Laholm Municipality, Halland County, Sweden, with 1,619 inhabitants in 2010. Geographically the village is located south of the estuary of the river Lagan, stretching along the Bay of Laholm. The village is primarily known for the 12 km long sandy beach also named Mellbystrand. Each summer the village receives many tourists.
