Mill Woods

Mill Woods Town Centre is a community comprising two neighbourhoods within the central core of Mill Woods in the City of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Neighbourhoods within the community include Mill Woods Town Centre, which shares the same name, and Tawa. Overall development of the community is guided by the Mill Woods Town Centre Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP), which was original adopted by Edmonton City Council in 1987.The Mill Woods Town Centre community is bounded by 23 Avenue to the south, 66 Street to the west, 34 Avenue to the north and 50 Street to the east. Within the community, Tawa and the Mill Woods Town Centre neighbourhood are located to the north and south of 28 Avenue respectively.

Tawa is a residential neighbourhood in the Mill Woods area of south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is a newer neighbourhood, with most of the development occurring in the early 1990s. The Grey Nuns Community Hospital is located in the neighbourhood as is the Edmonton Police Service's South East Division Station. Tawa is bounded on the north by 34 Avenue, on the south by 28 Avenue, on the west by 66 Street, and on the east by 50 Street.

Edmonton-Mill Woods is a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada. It is one of 87 current electoral districts mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. This urban district is located in south central Edmonton was created in the 1979 boundary redistribution from Edmonton-Avonmore. The electoral district since its creation has been a swing riding controlled by the Progressive Conservatives, New Democrats and Liberals. The current representative is New Democrat Christina Gray who was first elected in 2015, and re-elected in 2019.

Mill Woods stop is a tram stop in the Edmonton Light Rail Transit network in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves as the south terminus of the Valley Line. It is located on the south side of 28 Avenue NW, west of Hewes Way, between Tawa and Mill Woods Town Centre. The stop was scheduled to open in 2020, with the Mill Woods Transit Centre relocated to allow easy connections between bus and train; however, it opened on November 4, 2023.

Mill Woods Town Centre is best known for its shopping mall and is the commercial centre of the Mill Woods area of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. What is less well known is that the mall is part of a larger neighbourhood with the same name. The larger neighbourhood is home to a sizable residential population of 1074 according to the 2005 municipal census.Mill Woods Town Centre is bounded on the north by 28 Avenue, on the south by 23 Avenue, on the west by 66 Street, and on the east by 50 Street. Hewes Way, a major thoroughfare, cuts the neighbourhood roughly in half.

The Grey Nuns Community Hospital is an acute care hospital located in the Mill Woods area of south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Grey Nuns Community Hospital provides a full range of services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. The 14-bed tertiary palliative care unit is known for its delivery of care and teaching practices. The hospital traces its roots to the Grey Nuns of Montreal who sent Sister Emery (Zoe LeBlanc), Adel Lamy and Alphonse (Marie Jacques) to the Edmonton area in 1859.

Mill Woods Town Centre is a shopping centre located in south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the neighbourhood of Mill Woods. It contains service and retail including Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart. Some surrounding satellite stores are located in and around the mall's exterior properties. Stores inside the mall include Tim Hortons, M&M Meat Shops Ltd., Alberta Works Support Service Center, Telus Mobility, and more. There is also an ETS transit centre on the northern side of the property.

Mill Woods Park or Mill Woods Sport Park is a large multi-recreational park located in the centre of Mill Woods, Edmonton, just to the west of Mill Woods Town Centre. It serves as the school fields for both Holy Trinity and J Percy Page High Schools. The park features picnic sites, water playground, small lake, paved walkways, sports field, and a skate park. It is also home to the Mill Woods Canada Day events with various musical performances, petting zoos, hay rides and other activities, with about 50,000 people in attendance each year. During the winter it becomes a popular spot for skiing and sledding. The Mill Woods Recreation Centre, which is in between the two schools, has an indoor swimming pool, an exercise room, and two NHL-sized hockey rinks.

Hillview is a residential neighbourhood in the Mill Woods area of south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is located in the Woodvale area of Mill Woods. The neighbourhood was largely developed during the 1970s and early 1980s. It was during this time that 87% of the neighbourhood residences were constructed.Just over half (54%) of the residences in the neighbourhood are single-family dwellings. Another quarter (24%) are row houses. Apartments constitute another 16% with duplexes accounting for 5% of all residences. According to the 2005 municipal census, 68% of residences were owner occupied with the remainder being rented.The average household size in Hillview is 2.9 persons. Just under half (47%) of residences have one or two persons. Approximately one in five households (19%) have three persons, and almost one in three households (30%) have four or five persons.There are two schools in the neighbourhood. The Hillview Elementary School is operated by the Edmonton Public School System, while the John Paul I Catholic Elementary School is operated by the Edmonton Catholic School System. The Grey Nuns Community Hospital is located to the south in the adjoining neighbourhood of Tawa. On the far side of Tawa is Mill Woods Town Centre. Hillview is bounded on the west by 66 Street, on the east by 50 Street, on the south by 34 Avenue, and on the north by 38 Avenue. The community is represented by the Woodvale Community League, established in 1980.

Holy Trinity Catholic High School is a high school located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the southern neighbourhood of Mill Woods. It borders the Public High School of J. Percy Page, and the multi-recreational Mill Woods Park.

Greenview is a residential neighbourhood in the Mill Woods area of southeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is located to the south of the Mill Woods Golf Course. Most of the residential development in Greenview occurred during the 1970s and 1980s, with 97.9% of the residences constructed during this time. The most common type of residence, according to the 2005 municipal census, is the single-family dwelling, which makes up 72% of all residences in the neighbourhood. A further 18% are row houses. The remaining 10% are split roughly equally between duplexes and apartments in low rise buildings with fewer than five stories (5% each). Approximately 83% of residences are owner occupied, with the remaining 17% being rented.There is a single school in the neighbourhood, Greeview Public School. Beside the school there is an outdoor hockey rink, where great hockey is played. The Jackie Parker Recreation Area is located in Greenview. The community is represented by the Woodvale Community League, established in 1980.
