Centereach () is a hamlet and census-designated place in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 31,578 at the 2010 census.

Newfield High School is a public high school in Selden, New York, United States. It is located one mile (1.6 km) north of Middle Country Road (Route 25) on Marshall Drive.

First Congregational Church of New Village is a historic church on the north side of Middle Country Road, west of Elliot Avenue in Lake Grove, New York, United States. The building was likely constructed in 1818, with some sources saying with the original intent of being of a union meeting house.The congregation was formed in 1815, with the original title "Third Congregational Church of Brookhaven", and its first pastor was Jacob Corwin. On March 5, 1845, the church was incorporated as the "First Congregational Church of New Village."In 1949 the church withdrew from the Congregational denomination, and it became an independent evangelical church; self-governed by its Board of Elders and Deacons. The congregation of the church moved to a new and larger facility in 1961, and the property was taken over by the Town of Brookhaven around 1970. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.Today the church is known as New Village Church, and is located a block from the old church building at 3 Wildwood Street, Lake Grove, NY. The church is depicted on the Lake Grove village seal. "New Village", however, is the former name of the hamlet of Centereach, whose boundary now lies a few blocks east of the church's location.

The Islamic Association of Long Island (also known as the Selden Masjid) is a mosque at 10 Park Hill Drive in Selden, New York, eastern Long Island, 65 miles east of New York City. It was founded in 1974 and is the oldest chartered mosque on Long Island.

Selden is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 19,851 at the 2010 census.

Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) is a public community college in Selden, New York. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and is funded in part by Suffolk County, New York. Suffolk County Community College was founded in 1959 and has three campuses: Selden, Brentwood and Riverhead. It also has two satellite centers in Sayville and downtown Riverhead. The school was founded largely through the efforts of Albert Ammerman who was the college's president from its founding in December 1959 until 1983. In its first year it had 13 faculty with 171 full-time students at the Sachem High School in Ronkonkoma and 335 part-time students at Riverhead High School until what is now called the Ammerman campus opened in 1962 in the former Suffolk County Tuberculosis Sanatorium (originally built in 1912). By 1977 it had opened a campus in Riverhead and one on the edge of the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Brentwood.

WSHR (91.9 FM, "91.9 The Arrow") is a radio station licensed to Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. The station is owned by the Sachem School District and operates with assistance from a grant by the U.S. Department of Education. It broadcasts out of both Sachem High School East and Sachem High School North. This school district owned radio station can be heard throughout central and western Suffolk County and parts of Nassau County. On May 28, 2010, WSHR switched formats from a jazz and variety mix to contemporary hit radio as "91.9 The Arrow."

Ward Melville High School is a public high school in the Three Village Central School District of Suffolk County, New York on Long Island, serving grades ten through twelve. It is fed by the two junior high schools in the district: Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School and Robert Cushman Murphy Junior High School, and is named after businessman and philanthropist Ward Melville. Located sixty miles from Manhattan in the Three Village area, Ward Melville High School is situated in East Setauket, New York. The school serves students from Setauket, East Setauket, Stony Brook, Old Field, Strongs Neck, and Poquott. As of the 2011–12 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,848 students and 140.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 13.2. The building was originally designed to have 290,700 square feet (27,010 m2) with capacity for 2,000 students, although it has been expanded several times since. Each of the three grades currently has approximately 600 students. The district provides for numerous clubs and activities after school, including a musical–theater arts program and many sports teams. The school offers 25 different Advanced Placement courses and another 25 college courses that are offered credit through several colleges and universities. The school has been expanded several times to accommodate the growing number of students attending Ward Melville High School. In 2002, two extra wings were added to the northeastern and southeastern corners of the school. During the 2009–2010 school year, a new weight training facility was completed in the rear of the school while the music rooms were renovated. In the 2010–2011 school year, an additional wing was built to house the science department while the auditorium and the library was refurbished.
