Sheffield Glen is a neighbourhood in Alta Vista Ward in southeast Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded on the west by Russell Road, on the south by Walkley Road and on the north and east by Lancaster Road. The neighbourhood is more commonly referred to as Southvale by Ottawans, but appears as Sheffield Glen on maps. Southvale Crescent is the name of the main street which runs through the neighbourhood and is home to a majority of residents. The neighbourhood is home to many apartment buildings and townhouses. Its population according to the Canada 2011 Census was 2877. This decreased to 2,744 according to the Canada 2016 Census. The Canadian Museum of Science and Technology is located adjacent to the neighbourhood on Lancaster Road. The neighbourhood is surrounded on three sides by industrial areas, and on the west side by Hawthorne Meadows.

Urbandale (also known as Canterbury) is a neighbourhood in Alta Vista Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood is roughly located south of Pleasant Park Road, west of St. Laurent Boulevard, north of Walkley Road and east of the Kilborn Allotment Garden. The total population for this area was 4,622 according to the Canada 2016 Census.The neighbourhood was built in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and was first named Urbandale Acres and was built by Economy Home Builders Ltd. Today, the name "Urbandale Acres" usually refers to an adjacent subdivision. The Canterbury Square apartment complex would begin being built in 1964, while the Lord Halifax Place apartments would be built by the end of the decade. The neighbourhood was part of the Elmvale-Urbandale-Sharel Community Association, which changed its name to the Canterbury Community Association in 1968.

Hawthorne Public School is a school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 2158 St. Laurent Blvd and represents around 210 students from Kindergarten to Grade Eight from over 50 countries around the world. Hunt Club Park (French: Parc Hunt Club) is a residential neighbourhood in Gloucester-Southgate Ward in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The Ottawa Neighbourhood Study defines the boundaries of the neighbourhood as being Johnston Road-Blohm Drive and Hunterswood Crescent on the north, Hunt Club Road on the south, Hawthorne Road on the east and Conroy Road on the west. The neighbourhood generally corresponds to Census Tracts 5050001.08 and 5050001.07 which had a combined population of 8,825 as of the Canada 2016 Census. The Census also showed 5 people living east of Hawthorne Road, an area generally not considered part of the neighbourhood, but part of the former census tract.

The Canada Science and Technology Museum (abbreviated as CSTM; French: Musée des sciences et de la technologie du Canada) is a national museum of science and technology in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The museum has a mandate to preserve and promote the country's scientific and technological heritage. The museum is housed in a 13,458 square metres (144,860 sq ft) building. The museum is operated by Ingenium, a Crown corporation that also operates two other national museums of Canada. The museum originated as the science and technology branch of the defunct National Museum of Canada. The branch opened its own building in 1967, and subsequently became its own institution in 1968, named the National Museum of Science and Technology. The museum adopted its current name in 2000. The museum's building underwent significant renovations from 2014 to 2017, which saw most of the original structure demolished and replaced. The museum's collection contains over 20,000 artifact lots with 60,000 individual objects, some of which are on display in the museum's exhibitions. The museum also hosts and organizes a number of temporary and travelling exhibitions.

Elmvale Acres Shopping Centre is a strip mall located in the Elmvale Acres neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It opened as an enclosed mall in 1961 and was one of the earliest fully enclosed shopping malls in the city.The mall is bounded by Smyth Road to the north, Othello Avenue to the west, Russell Road to the east, and St. Laurent Boulevard to the south. The shopping centre has 40 shops and services including Dollarama, LCBO, Rexall, Starbucks and the Ottawa Public Library. Its gross leasable area is 146,699 square feet (13,628.8 m2). The shopping centre is currently owned by RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust. The shopping centre is adjacent to the Elmvale Station providing bus service via OC Transpo routes 40, 46, 48, 49, and 55. The enclosed portion of the mall was demolished in 2005 and replaced by two ranges facing each other across the parking lot. Proprietor RioCan began further redevelopment in 2017, projecting a mix of new commercial and residential buildings with 570 new residential units and a 3,150 square metres (33,900 sq ft) park. Plans include three 16-storey towers along St. Laurent Boulevard, which would be the tallest buildings along this street, as well as a 9-storey building along Smyth Road. Construction began in 2019 and will be implemented over 10 to 15 years.On January 31, 2019, a 30 year old man was shot and killed by an OPS officer during an altercation. Dispatch audio indicates the man was seen walking into the mall holding a knife in his hand. Sources told CBC News that the officer was cut on his forehead. As of February 2019, the Special Investigations Unit is still investigating the case.

The Cape North Lighthouse is a cylindrical lighthouse tower with a red and white checkerboard pattern that stood at Money Point, near Cape North, Cape Breton from 1908 to 1980. While originally installed at Cape Race, Newfoundland, this tower is most commonly referred to as the Cape North Lighthouse. It now stands landlocked at the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Canterbury High School is an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board high school in the Urbandale neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is an arts magnet school which draws in students from the Ottawa area to their specialized arts program. The school opened in 1969 as a comprehensive high school. It was the last in a series of ten high schools built by the Collegiate Board to deal with a growing population of teenagers. At the time of its opening, it was considered an extremely modern school, employing all the latest ideas in education. Most notably, many of its walls were movable (no longer a feature), allowing for an easy reorganization of space. It also had one of the largest libraries and auditoriums of any Ottawa area school. From 1969 to 1976, Canterbury offered a technical program based in aerospace engineering. The school operated a 1969 Cessna 190J (CF-CHS) and a Schweitzer 2-33 glider (CF-ABE), providing unique research opportunities to students. However, the Ottawa Board of Education eventually withdrew support due to liability issues. The school's arts program began in 1983, making Canterbury High School an arts magnet school for the Ottawa-Gatineau region. There are five different arts programs that students must audition and interview for to be accepted into: dance, dramatic arts, literary arts, music (winds and percussion, strings, or voice), and visual arts.The school maintains an athletics program which includes wrestling, rowing, swimming, volleyball, baseball, basketball, soccer, football, water polo, curling, ultimate frisbee, ice hockey, rugby and track and field.

Pineview (also spelled Pine View) is a neighbourhood in Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, the neighbourhood was part of the City of Gloucester. As of the Canada 2021 Census, the neighbourhood had a population of 6,179. It is bounded by the Queensway on the north, Highway 417 to the west, the Greenbelt on the east and Innes Road to the south. Its adjacent neighbourhoods are Beacon Hill, Blackburn Hamlet and Cyrville.
