Okhotny Ryad (Russian: Охотный ряд) is a station on the Sokolnicheskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. It is situated in the very centre of Moscow in the Tverskoy District, near the Kremlin, Manezhnaya Square and State Duma. It is named after a nearby street, which name literally means "hunters' row".

The Loskutnaya Hotel (Лоскутная) was a hotel on Tverskaya Street in Moscow. The hotel, built in the 19th Century, was located by the Manege Square, near the Historical Museum and Iverskaia Gate. Geir Kjetsaa, author of Fyodor Dostoyevsky: A Writer's Life, said that the hotel was "one of the best hotels in town." Leonid Andreev and Pyotr Boborykin often stayed at the hotel. A group of people with Anton Chekhov also stayed at Loskutnaya. It was later renamed to the Red Fleet Hostel, and many students and younger members of the Communist Party of Russia stayed at the hotel. During Communist rule, some rooms were reserved for Naval College members and sailor delegates.

As an alpha world city, Moscow has one of the world's largest urban economies. The city is one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world, and is one of Europe's most visited cities. Moscow is home to the fourth-highest number of billionaires of any city in the world, and has the highest number of billionaires of any city in Europe. The Moscow International Business Center is one of the largest financial centers in Europe and the world, and features some of Europe's tallest skyscrapers. Moscow was the host city of the 1980 Summer Olympics, and one of the host cities of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.As the historic core of Russia, Moscow serves as the home of numerous Russian artists, scientists, and sports figures due to the presence of its various museums, academic and political institutions, and theaters. The city is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and is well known for its display of Russian architecture, particularly its historic Red Square, and buildings such as the Saint Basil's Cathedral and the Moscow Kremlin, of which the latter serves as the seat of power of the Government of Russia. The State Duma (Russian: Госуда́рственная ду́ма, tr. Gosudárstvennaya dúma), commonly abbreviated in Russian as Gosduma (Russian: Госду́ма), is the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, while the upper house is the Federation Council. The Duma headquarters are located in central Moscow, a few steps from Manege Square. Its members are referred to as deputies. The State Duma replaced the Supreme Soviet as a result of the new constitution introduced by Boris Yeltsin in the aftermath of the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993, and approved in a nationwide referendum. In the 2007 and 2011 Russian legislative elections a full party-list proportional representation with 7% electoral threshold system was used, but this was subsequently repealed. The legislature's term length was initially 2 years in the 1993–1995 elections period, and 4 years in 1999–2007 elections period; since the 2011 elections the term length is 5 years.

The Siege of Moscow was the last major military action of Wladyslaw IV's campaign of 1617-1618 and the entire Polish-Muscovite War (1605-1618). During the short siege, which lasted several weeks in the autumn of 1618, an assault of the city was unsuccessful. Having failed, the Polish-Lithuanian government went to the conclusion of the Truce of Deulino.

The American Center in Moscow is a cultural center located at the Embassy of the United States, Moscow, Russia. It was founded in 1993 by the U.S. Embassy to the Russian Federation. The American Center serves as a focal point of American culture in Russia’s capital and offers a variety of cultural and educational programs as well as access to print and online resources about the United States.

The Armenian Cemetery of Moscow (Armenian: Մոսկվայի Հայկական Գերեզմանատուն, Russian: Армя́нское Вага́ньковское кла́дбище, Armyanskoe Vagan'kovskoe Kladbishche) is an Armenian historical cemetery in Moscow, Russia It is located in the Krasnaya Presnya (Красная Пресня) district, not far from Vagankovo Cemetery. The cemetery was established in 1804 by the initiative of Minas Lazarev, the leader Moscow’s Armenian community, who also initiated the construction of the Surb Harutyun Armenian church (1808–1815). The Lazarev family crypt is located under the church. The cemetery and the church are under state protection. Among the state-protected monuments are the obelisk on A.A. Loris-Melikov's tomb (1844), Ananov's tombs (constructed by medieval Armenian canons), khachkar on D.S. Melik-Beglyarov's tomb (1913), and the modernist gravestone for Nikolai Tarasov sculpted by Nikolai Andreev. The Armenian Cemetery is also the resting place for the remains of people who were not of Armenian descent.

The Academy of Labour and Social Relations (Russian: Академия труда и социальных отношений) is a university in Russia, located in Moscow. It was founded in 1919.
