Ancora Psychiatric Hospital is a 532 active bed (709 capacity) hospital located in the Ancora section of Winslow Township, New Jersey. The Ancora campus, opened in 1955, covers 650 acres (263 ha). The hospital offers a multidisciplinary team approach to development and implementation of care. Ancora is the largest of the state's four public psychiatric hospitals. Although the hospital is located in Winslow, it has a Hammonton mailing address. Ancora also has their own career fire company on site. Most patients at Ancora have been committed involuntarily, as a potential danger to themselves or others.

Outer Coastal Plain is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located in southernmost New Jersey. It was established as the nation's 186th and the state's third wine appellation on February 9, 2007 by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted by James Quarella of Bellview Winery, Frank Selak of Sylvin Winery, Larry Coia of Coia Vineyard and Dante Romanini of Panther Branch Vineyard on behalf of themselves and local vintners proposing a viticultural area in southeastern New Jersey known as "Outer Coastal Plain." The 2.25-million-acre (3,516 sq mi) appellation is roughly triangle-shaped and comprises the eastern and southernmost New Jersey regions. Outer Coastal Plain is one of five defined physiographic regions of New Jersey. The other regions are the Inner Coastal Plain, the Newark Basin Piedmont, the Highlands, and the Appalachian Valley and Ridge. Outer Coastal Plain includes the Atlantic coastline and the area known as the "Pinelands" or "Pine Barrens." It encompasses all of Cumberland, Cape May, Atlantic, and Ocean Counties and portions of Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, and Monmouth Counties. The region is characterized by well-drained sandy or sandy loam soils of low to moderate fertility, and a relatively long growing season. The climate is moderated by the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay. The plant hardiness zones range from 7a to 8a. In 2017, Outer Coastal Plain was expanded approximately 32,932 acres (51 sq mi) to include all or portions of Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Monmouth, Ocean and Salem counties after the TTB reviewed the petition from John and Jane Giunco, owners of 4JG's Orchards and Vineyards in Colts Neck, New Jersey. The viticultural area and the expansion does not lie within another viticultural area. The 126,635-acre (198 sq mi) Cape May Peninsula viticultural area was established by the TTB in 2018 as a sub-appellation within the southernmost tip of Outer Coast Plain where its petition specified that the new AVA, bordered entirely by water and the New Jersey Pinelands, has its own unique terroir.

Hobb Lake (also called Bates Sawmill Pond) is a major reservoir located in Winslow Township, New Jersey. It was once open for public swimming and was called "The Lake of the Four Fountains". It is formed by the Pump Branch, a tributary of Albertson Brook.

The Pump Branch is a 7.7-mile-long (12.4 km) tributary of Albertson Brook in southern New Jersey in the United States.The Pump Branch arises at Virginia Lake in Winslow, flows under and along the former Atlantic City Railroad main line to the hamlet of Cedar Brook, where it turns east and is dammed to form Hobb Lake, in the vicinity of Bates Mill. Just downstream is another series of dams and lakes, built for the summer camp, Camp Haluwasa. Passing through Ancora, it joins with Blue Anchor Brook to form Albertson Brook.

Winslow Township is a township in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 39,907, an increase of 408 (+1.0%) from the 2010 census count of 39,499, which in turn reflected an increase of 4,888 (+14.1%) from the 34,611 counted in the 2000 census.Winslow Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 8, 1845, from portions of Gloucester Township. Portions of the township were taken on November 26, 1867, to create Chesilhurst. In 1950, the township annexed a portion of Monroe Township in Gloucester County. The township, and all of Camden County, is part of South Jersey and of the Philadelphia-Wilmington-Camden, PA-NJ-DE-MD combined statistical area, also known as the Delaware Valley or Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The Chesilhurst Borough School District is a defunct community public school district that had served students in Kindergarten through sixth grade from Chesilhurst, New Jersey, United States. As of 2009, the district was no longer operating any schools and instead is sending all of its students to the Winslow Township School District as part of a sending/receiving relationship.As of the 2007/08 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 104 students and 8.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.0.The district was classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "A", the lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

Chesilhurst is a borough in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 1,536, a decrease of 98 (−6.0%) from the 2010 census count of 1,634, which in turn reflected an increase of 114 (+7.5%) from the 1,520 counted in the 2000 census.Chesilhurst was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on November 26, 1887, from portions of Waterford Township and Winslow Township, based on the results of a referendum held on October 18, 1887.New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Chesilhurst the worst town in the state in its 2008 rankings of "Best Places to Live" in New Jersey (placing at # 566 of 566).

The 1922 Winslow Junction train derailment was a July 2, 1922 accident on Atlantic City Railroad's Camden to Atlantic City route. Train № 33 the Owl going 90 miles (140 km) per hour sped through an open switch at Winslow Junction. 7 were killed, 89 were injured.

The Blue Hole is located in the Pinelands of Monroe Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey and Winslow Township, Camden County, New Jersey. It is a clear blue body of water situated in the middle of a dense forest, with many similar such lakes in its immediate vicinity. The water has warm and cold spots, averaging 58 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The lake's color is unusual, as most lakes and ponds in the area are brownish due to large deposits of bog iron and the presence of tannic acid. The Blue Hole is circular and about 70 feet (21 m) across. In the 1930s, the Blue Hole was a popular party and swimming spot. A wooden footbridge over the Great Egg Harbor River that once made the Hole easily accessible was wiped out by a storm in the 1960s; now it can only be reached on foot. The Blue Hole has been largely abandoned. There are many other 'blue holes' in the immediate vicinity, as well as quicksand and other seasonal ponds and lakes that form from springs seeping from high water table levels. The Blue Hole is not to be confused with the numerous former quarries in the area, which are much larger and have a vibrant sky blue color. At its deepest point, the Blue Hole is 100 feet (30 m) The bottom appears to consist of sand rather than mud. Swimming and diving in the Blue Hole are both illegal, but not enforced. It remains a popular swimming spot during the summer.

The Grant A.M.E. Church was a historic church at 4th and Washington Street in Chesilhurst of Camden County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1896 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 5, 1977, for its significance in religion and social history.

Amalthea Cellars ( AM-əl-THEE-ə) is a winery in the West Atco section of Winslow in Camden County, New Jersey. The vineyard was first planted in 1976, and opened to the public in 1981. Amalthea has 10 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 5,000 cases of wine per year. The winery is named after Amalthea, a moon of Jupiter, reflecting the owner's scientific background and love of mythology.

Plagido's Winery is a winery located in Hammonton in Atlantic County, New Jersey. A family produce farm since the late 19th century, the vineyard was first planted in 1999, and opened to the public in 2007. The winery was originally known as "Placido's Winery," but the name was changed in 2008 because of winery with a similar name exists in Tuscany. Plagido has 14 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 4,200 cases of wine per year. The winery is named after the owner's great-grandfather, who emigrated from Italy in the late 19th century, and started a farm in Hammonton.
