McClary House

The William Ruth Mansion House is a historic house in Leipsic, Delaware. Originally built for William Ruth, a merchant and trustee of the first free school in Delaware, the house was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on April 11, 1973.Ruth bought the property in 1807 and started his "Mansion House" soon thereafter. His house-builder used Owen Biddle's 1805 pattern book, The Young Carpenter's Assistant, for some of the designs, specifically the step end brackets of the main stair, which match the pattern book exactly (see photo). The house has been added to and renovated a number of times. The north section was added ca. 1841. The house contains 9 fireplaces, 6 in the original brick L-shaped section, including a large kitchen fireplace with original crane intact.The main section had a second floor bay window added during the Victorian period, and the main section was renovated in the 1910s, adding a new newel post and main front door in the entrance hall, as well as sliding double doors into the main parlor, and French doors between the main parlor and the new dining room in a new frame addition to the rear, and a new front porch. The new front door and newel post are very similar to designs published in the Sears catalogues in the 1910s. An open porch behind the 1920s kitchen was enclosed in the 1950s. There are a number of shed additions to the rear of varying dates. William Ruth was a merchant who bought local produce and shipped it to Philadelphia from the port of Leipsic, Delaware, then known as Fast Landing, which was renamed Leipsic in 1814. He died in 1822, willing the property in two halves, splitting the house in half.

Rawley House is a historic home located at Leipsic, Kent County, Delaware. It dates to the mid-19th century, and is a two-story, three-bay, gable roofed frame vernacular dwelling. It was built as a side hall plan, single pile house and later transformed to a double pile dwelling with additions. Additions are a two-story lean-to, a one-story, one-room plan lean-to the north and a one-story frame ell to the rear.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Fennimore Store is a historic commercial building located at Leipsic, Kent County, Delaware. It was built between 1840 and 1860, and is a two-story, hipped roofed frame structure clad in weatherboard siding. It features a full-width porch on two sides. It is representative of mid-19th-century commercial vernacular architecture. It has housed a general store, grocery and gas station, muskrat skinner's store and antique shop at various periods.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Maggie S. Myers is an oyster schooner, built in 1893 reportedly at Bridgeton, New Jersey. She is 50-foot-long (15 m) and all the framing is of white oak. The rigging was removed in the 1940s, when the vessel was converted to power. She is maintained and used for oyster dredging on the waters of the Delaware Bay.She was restored by her current owner, Frank "Thumper" Eicherly IV of Bowers Beach, Delaware, and ran on both sail as well as combustion. She sank on December 23, 2022, but was refloated several days later.She was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.A similar oyster dredging schooner, the Katherine M. Lee, which is also listed on the NRHP, was also docked near Front and Lombard streets in Leipsic, Delaware.

Reed House is a historic home located at Leipsic, Kent County, Delaware. It dates to the first quarter of the 19th century, and is a two-story, three-bay, gable roofed timber-frame vernacular dwelling. It has a later one-story frame extending wing from the east gable end. The front facade features a plain tetra-style front porch with squared supports and a shed roof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Katherine M. Lee is a sail-powered oyster schooner, built in 1912 at Greenwich, New Jersey. She is 85-foot-long (26 m) and all the framing is of white oak. The rigging was removed in the 1940s, when the vessel was converted to diesel power. She is maintained and used for oyster dredging on the waters of the Delaware Bay.She was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.A similar oyster dredging schooner, the Maggie S. Myers which is also listed on the NRHP, was also docked near Front and Lombard streets in Leipsic, Delaware.

Alexander Laws House is a historic home located at Leipsic, Kent County, Delaware. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, gable roofed frame structure with rear wings. The earliest part of the house may be the one-story kitchen wing, with the main section of the house added between 1820 and 1830. It features a fine Eastlake porch, round-arched roof dormers, and handsome Greek Revival style entry.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

It has a gable roof with box cornice and Italianate style brackets and a projecting center bay topped by a mansard roof. It features a distyle front porch and tetrastyle east gable-end porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Raymond Neck Historic District is a national historic district located near Leipsic, Kent County, Delaware. It encompasses eight contributing buildings and four contributing structures in a rural area near Leipsic. There are three two-story, center hall plan, brick dwellings dated between 1820 and 1867 and known as the John Raymond house (c. 1830), James Hoffecker house (c. 1820), and Robert Wilson's "Hebron" (1867). The other contributing buildings and structures are related outbuildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Snowland is a historic home located near Leipsic, Kent County, Delaware. It was built about 1790, and consists of a two-story, five-bay, brick main house with a lower wing that extends the main axis. It was originally built as a three-bay dwelling, but later expanded to five bays and a center-hall Georgian-style structure. It was the birthplace of U.S. Senator Arnold Naudain. (1790-1872)It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
