Fail was a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Viseu, with 6.92 km2 (2.7 sq mi) and 664 inhabitants (2011). Density: 96 inhabitants / km2 (245/sq mi). In 2013 Law No 11-A / 2013 was changed and Fail was reclassified into the Union of Parishes Fail e Vila Chã de Sá based in Vila Chã de Sá.

São João de Lourosa is a civil parish in the municipality of Viseu, Portugal. It has 24.30 km2 and had 4702 inhabitants in the 2011 census.

The Comunidade Intermunicipal Viseu Dão Lafões (Portuguese pronunciation: [viˈzew ðɐ̃w lɐˈfõjʃ]) is an administrative division in Portugal. It replaced the previously existing Greater Metropolitan Area of Viseu. Since January 2015, Viseu Dão Lafões is also a NUTS3 subregion of Centro Region, that covers the same area as the intermunicipal community. The main city and seat of the intermunicipal community is Viseu. The population in 2011 was 267,633, in an area of 3,237.74 km².

Viseu Dão-Lafões is a Portuguese subregion located in the north of the Central Region. In 2021, the subregion recorded 252,984 inhabitants and a population density of 78 inhabitants per km2. The subregion has an area of 3,238 km2, which can be divided into 14 municipalities and 156 parishes. The capital of the subregion is the city of Viseu, which is the largest city in the subregion and the third largest city in the Central Region, with 99,561 inhabitants in the entire municipality and 59,469 inhabitants in the urban area. It borders the Porto metropolitan area to the northwest, the Tâmega e Sousa subregion to the north, the Douro subregion to the northeast, the Beiras e Serra da Estrela subregion to the east, the Região de Coimbra subregion to the south and the Região de Aveiro subregion to the west.

The District of Viseu (Portuguese: Distrito de Viseu [viˈzew] ) is located in the Central Inland of Portugal, the District Capital is the city of Viseu.

Viseu Cathedral is the Catholic bishopric seat of the city of Viseu, in Portugal. The church started being built in the 12th century and is the most important historical monument of the town. It is currently a mix of architectural styles, specially from the Manueline, Renaissance and Mannerist periods. The cathedral is located on a large and harmonious square, beside the old Bishop's Palace (now the Grão Vasco Museum) and in front of the Misericórdia Church of Viseu.

The Grão Vasco Museum (Museu de Grão Vasco) is an art museum located in the city of Viseu, in Portugal. The museum is named after one of the most important Portuguese painters of the Renaissance, Vasco Fernandes (also known as the Grão Vasco), who had his workshop in Viseu. The museum, founded in 1916, occupies the building of the old Seminary, located beside Viseu Cathedral. The building, began in the late 16th century in Mannerist style, has had its interior recently modernised by Porto architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. The main exhibits of the museum are the painted altarpieces executed for Viseu Cathedral during the Renaissance. These include the main altarpiece, executed by a workshop that included the young Vasco Fernandes and was apparently led by Francisco Henriques, as well as later altarpieces by a mature Vasco Fernandes and his collaborator, Gaspar Vaz. The artistic significance of these altarpieces turn the Grão Vasco Museum into one of the most important art museums in Portugal. The collections also include metalwork, tapestry and sculpture.

During the Roman occupation of Iberia, Viriathus, the rebel leader of the Lusitanians, is assumed to have lived for a time in the vicinity. During the Middle Ages, the city often served as a seat for Visigothic nobles (such as King Roderic), and is considered one of the probable birthplaces of Afonso Henriques, first King of Portugal.Viseu is a regional economic hub with a strong wine industry and is the seat of the international conglomerate Visabeira. The city is also a cultural center, home to the nationally acclaimed Grão Vasco Museum, the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Viseu, and center of national universities, including the Catholic University of Portugal.

Abraveses is a Freguesia in the municipality (concelho) of Viseu, in the Portuguese central subregion of Dão-Lafões. The population in 2011 was 8,539, in an area of 12.23 km². Abraveses lies 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the centre of the city of Viseu, intimately linked to the historic settlement, and located along an extensive connection between Viseu-Castro Daire and Viseu-São Pedro do Sul.

Estádio do Fontelo (Portuguese pronunciation: [ɨˈʃtaðju ðu fõˈtɛlu]; Fontelo Stadium) is a stadium in Viseu, Portugal. It was completed and opened to the public in December 1928. It is mostly used for football matches and hosts the home matches of Académico de Viseu.

Alcafache is a freguesia in the municipality (concelho) of Mangualde in the Portuguese central subregion of Dão-Lafões. The population in 2011 was 921, in an area of 12.88 km².

Campo de Besteiros is a civil parish in the municipality of Tondela, Portugal. The population in 2011 was 1,474, in an area of 7.93 km2.
