The Battle of Cardal (also known as Battle of Cordón), on 20 January 1807, was the main conflict between the Spanish defense forces of Montevideo, Uruguay, and British troops during the siege of Montevideo during the second British invasion of the River Plate. The British won an easy victory over the outnumbered opposing forces, which paved the way for the fall of the city,

Casa Central del Banco República is a building, seat of the administration of the Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay. It is located in Ciudad Vieja of Montevideo, Uruguay. The building is the work of Italian architect Giovanni Veltroni and was inaugurated on 19 February 1938, ten years after the approval for its construction. The sculptures of its facade are the work of Uruguayan sculptor Juan Zorrilla de San Martín and were inaugurated in 1940 and 1950. An expansion of the third floor and restructuring of the base floor were done in 1953.The building is one of the notable architectural sights of the Ciudad Vieja and is a National Heritage Site since 1975.

Reus al Norte is a historic barrio (neighbourhood or district) in Villa Muñoz, Montevideo, Uruguay. It was planned and constructed by Emillio Reus as a habitational alternative during the urban expansion of Montevideo in the end of the 19th century. Its design achieved an ideal relation between public and private space. The neighbourhood stands out for its modernist architecture and colourful houses and has become one of the famous sights of Montevideo. Many people know it by the name Barrio de los Judíos (English: Neighbourhood of the Jews), due to the presence of many Jewish-owned wholesale stores.

The Mercado Agrícola de Montevideo (MAM) (English: Montevideo Agricultural Market) is a historic enclosed market in the Aguada neighborhood of Montevideo, Uruguay. Built in the 1910s and reopened in 2013, it combines a variety of permanent shops selling fresh produce, butcheries, and other specialty food stores typical of a fruits and vegetables wholesale marketplace, along with general service providers and several restaurants and cafés.

The Russian Orthodox Church of the Resurrection (Spanish: Iglesia Ortodoxa Rusa de la Resurrección) is an Eastern Orthodox church building in Montevideo, Uruguay. Paris was found in 1920s. Unique in its type and denomination in Uruguay, it is part of the Diocese of South America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.

The Church of Our Lady of Mercy and St. Jude Taddhaeus (Spanish: Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Merced y san Judas Tadeo), popularly known as La Merced, is a Roman Catholic parish church in Villa Muñoz, Montevideo, Uruguay.The temple dates back to 1907; the crypt was consecrated on 8 September 1927. Originally held by the Mercedarians, now it belongs to the Metropolitan Curia. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy and to the apostle Saint Jude Taddhaeus. The church was declared a sanctuary.The parish was established on 30 January 1936.

Hospital Vilardebó is the only psychiatric hospital in Reducto, Montevideo, Uruguay. It opened on 21 May 1880, named after the physician and naturalist Teodoro Vilardebó Matuliche. The hospital was originally one of the best of Latin America and in 1915 grew to 1,500 hospital inpatients. Today the hospital is very deteriorated, with broken walls and floors, lack of medicines, beds, and rooms for the personnel. It has an emergency service, outpatient, clinic and internal rooms and employs approximately 610 staff, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, administrators, guards, among others. The average patient age is 30 years, more than half of whom arrive by court order; 42% suffer from schizophrenia, 18% suffer from depression and mania and also a high percentage of drug addicted patients. It has around 300 beds.

The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Spanish: Iglesia del Inmaculado Corazón de María), popularly known as San Pancracio (Spanish for "Saint Pancras") is a Roman Catholic parish church in Villa Muñoz, Montevideo, Uruguay.Held by the Claretians, it is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and also to Saint Pancras, patron saint of work and health. For this reason, this church has turned into a pilgrimage destination, with people attending the 12th day, every month of the year.The parish was established on 30 January 1919.

The Church of Our Lady of Sorrows (Spanish: Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores), popularly known as Iglesia del Reducto (in current times it belongs to the barrio La Figurita, but in the past it was part of Reducto), is a Roman Catholic parish church in Montevideo, Uruguay.The parish was established on 20 November 1871.The present temple was built in 1875 and completed in 1877 and is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows.

The Legislative Palace of Uruguay (Spanish: Palacio Legislativo del Uruguay) is a monumental building, meeting place of the General Assembly of Uruguay, and the seat of the legislative branch of the Uruguayan government. It is located in the barrio of Aguada in the city of Montevideo. Constructed between 1908 and 1925, the building was inaugurated on August 25, 1925, in commemoration of the centenary of the Declaration of Independence. It was declared a National Historic Monument in 1975 by the government of President Juan María Bordaberry.

The Chamber of Senators of Uruguay (Cámara de Senadores de Uruguay), or Senate, is the upper house of the General Assembly of Uruguay (Asamblea General de Uruguay). It has 30 members, elected for a five-year term by proportional representation; the Vice-president presides over the chamber's sessions. The composition and powers of the Senate are established by Article Ninety-eight of the Uruguayan Constitution. It also requires that the senators must be at least 30 years old and have been Uruguayan citizens for seven years. In addition to the functions that it performs jointly with the House of Representatives through the General Assembly, it stands out as a competence that falls solely on the House of Senators to open a public trial to those accused by the House of Representatives or the Junta Departamental, in their case, and pronounce sentence for the sole purpose of separating them from their positions, by two-thirds of the total number of its components.
