Duck River is a 19-mile-long (31 km) river in the state of Alabama. It is a tributary of the Mulberry Fork of the Black Warrior River and forms a portion of the border between Cullman and Blount counties.

Walter is an unincorporated community in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. Walter is located on Alabama State Route 91, 7.2 miles (11.6 km) northeast of Hanceville.

Hanceville is a city in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 3,217.

Garden City is a town in Cullman and Blount counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. At the 2020 census, the population was 528. Garden City was founded by Johann Cullmann, namesake of Cullman County in 1873 after founding Cullman, Alabama. It was located in Blount County and was incorporated in 1878 (although other sources claim 1911). Cullman County was created in 1877. Garden City was annexed by Cullman County with a shift in county borders until 1901. After a lapse in its incorporation, it was re-incorporated in 1950.

Wallace State Community College (formally George C Wallace State Community College) is a public community college in Hanceville, Alabama. Founded in 1966 as the George C. Wallace State Trade School of Cullman County, the college currently enrolls approximately 6,000 students and offers more than 50 associate degree and certificate programs in academic, health, and technical programs.

White City, also known as Centerdale, is an unincorporated community in Cullman County, Alabama, United States, located 2.0 miles (3.2 km) north of Hanceville. White City was damaged by an EF1 tornado on March 14, 2019, that was produced by the March 2019 North American blizzard.

Welti is an unincorporated community in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. Welti was damaged during the April 2014 tornado outbreak. Welti was formerly home to the Welti Road Covered Bridge, until it was burned down on October 22, 1939. Welti Falls, a waterfall created from the spillway of Forest Ingram Lake, is located near Welti.

Nectar is a town in Blount County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 379.

The Nectar Covered Bridge was a wood and metal combination style covered bridge which spanned the Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River in Blount County, Alabama, United States. It was located on Nectar Bridge Road off State Route 160, just east of the town of Nectar, about 14 miles (16 kilometers) northwest of Oneonta. Nectar Covered Bridge was at one time the seventh-longest covered bridge in the country. The bridge remained open to single lane motor traffic from its construction until it was burned by vandals on June 13, 1993.

Berlin is a town in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. The population was 476 at the 2020 census. It is located roughly five miles east of the city of Cullman in northern Alabama. U.S. Route 278 and Cullman County Road 747 intersect at Walker's Corner, considered to be the center of Berlin. The Berlin Community Center is located on U.S. Route 278, just west of the crossroads.

Blount County is a county located in the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 59,134. Its county seat is Oneonta. Blount County is a moist county. In the November 6, 2012 elections, a countywide ballot initiative to allow alcohol sales was narrowly defeated, but Blountsville, Cleveland and Oneonta have allowed for the sale of alcohol since 2013. Blount County has been dubbed the "Covered Bridge Capital of Alabama" since it has more historic covered bridges standing within a single county than any other in the state - with earlier covered bridges known of. This county celebrates the Covered Bridge Festival every autumn in Oneonta to commemorate its three remaining covered bridges.

The Lidy Walker Covered Bridge, formerly known as the Big Branch Covered Bridge, was a privately owned wood-&-metal combination style covered bridge which spanned the outlet to Lidy's Lake in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. It was located in the Berlin community at a pasture near the lake off Cullman County Road 1616 near U.S. Route 278, 6 miles (10 kilometers) east of the city of Cullman. Built in 1926, the 50-foot (15-meter) bridge was a Town Lattice truss construction over a single span. Its WGCB number is 01-22-12, originally given 01-05-14 as the Big Branch Covered Bridge. The covered bridge was originally located in Blount County near Blountsville and moved to its current location in 1958. It collapsed in early August 2001, leaving the 270-foot (82-meter) Clarkson-Legg Covered Bridge the only remaining historic covered bridge in Cullman County.
