Old Scona Academic School, often referred to as Old Scona or OSA, is a high school located in the Old Strathcona district of Edmonton, Alberta. It is a small academic high school with a population of approximately 340 to 360 students. The school's stated purpose is to provide academically inclined students an opportunity to grow in an environment of intellectual stimulation, and is recognized as one of the top academic high schools in Canada. The school's motto is, "Ever to Excel".

The Strathcona Public Building, Old Strathcona Post Office, South Side Post Office or South Edmonton Post Office is restored heritage building in Strathcona Square in the Old Strathcona heritage district of Edmonton. The restored building along with a Festival Market was opened to the public on the first weekend of September 1988 and the place came to be known as Strathcona Square.

The Duggan House, officially the J. J. Duggan Residence, is a brick building in Edmonton, Alberta, that is a both a Provincial Historic Resource and a Municipal Historic Resource. It was listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 2008. The house was built for John Joseph Duggan, an Edmonton politician and businessman, in 1907. Duggan lived there with his family for 25 years, and then the house was sold to the city and slated for demolition.Since the early 1980s it has been home to the Alberta Association of Architects, who purchased and restored it as part of an anniversary initiative. It was further restored by David Murray Architects in 2013.

The Queen Elizabeth Pool, located on the south side of the North Saskatchewan River valley in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is the oldest municipal pool in Western Canada. The Edmonton Bulletin described the pool as “delightfully situated in what is generally recognized as the city’s most beautiful park."The original pool was opened on August 22, 1922, but following a crack in the pool's basin, the facility was closed in 2004. The original pool was demolished in the summer of 2011 and reopened later that same year 600m to the west adjacent to the Kinsmen Sports Centre. The new pool features a 6-lane, 25-metre pool with a zero depth entry, children’s spray park, sun deck, universal access change room and showers and lockers on the pool deck.

The Kinsmen Sports Centre is a multi-purpose sport and recreation facility located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The land surrounding the facility is called Kinsmen Park, part of Edmonton's city-long North Saskatchewan River valley parks system. Its namesake is the Kinsmen, a service organization. The Kinsmen Sports Centre is owned by the City of Edmonton and operated by the Community Services Department. It was the competition site for the 2005 World Masters Games diving, swimming, synchronized swimming and table tennis.

The Strathcona Library, one of the oldest libraries in Alberta, completed in 1913, was the first library erected in the City of Edmonton. Nevertheless, the Strathcona Library does have a complex background as to its historical status within the Edmonton Public Library system. It is located on 104th Street, a block off of Whyte Avenue in the heart of Old Strathcona. Situated next to Wilbert McIntyre Park, the iconic Old Strathcona Gazebo, and the year-round Old Strathcona Farmer's Market, the Strathcona Library is often a central gathering area for much of the local community. During the annual Edmonton International Fringe Festival in the surrounding area, the Strathcona Library often hosts a large booksale to help shift aging and excess material from Edmonton Public Library's circulation.

Indigenous Art Park ᐄᓃᐤ (ÎNÎW) River Lot 11∞ (pronounced EE-nu River Lot 11) is a public park in the Edmonton, Alberta river valley built on the previous site of the Queen Elizabeth Pool. In June 2019, the Americans for the Arts' Public Art Network recognized the park as one of the 50 best international public art projects. Plans to build the park and curate installation pieces by Indigenous artists began in 2013, and the park opened in September 2018.

Metro Cinema Edmonton is a community-based not-for-profit society devoted to creating and fostering opportunities for the exhibition of diverse, unique shared viewing experiences in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Since 2011, Metro Cinema operated out of the iconic Garneau Theatre in the Strathcona district of Edmonton, located at 8712 – 109 ST NW. Prior to that it operated out of the Zeidler Hall in the Citadel Theatre in downtown Edmonton. 9828 - 101A Ave. Metro Cinema is funded by: Canadian Council for the Arts, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Alberta Arts Council, The City of Edmonton, and Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society (AMAAS).Starting in March 2020 Metro Cinema began virtual screenings due to closure of theaters as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Shadow Theatre is an Edmonton-based theatre company born of the Edmonton International Fringe Festival in 1990.

Rapid Fire Theatre (RFT) is an improvisational theatre company based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Varscona Theatre is a live performance venue in the Old Strathcona neighborhood of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Since 1994, the Varscona has been operated by a consortium of small theatre companies, including Teatro la Quindicina and Shadow Theatre (collectively known as The Varscona Theatre Alliance). The theatre is also the home of the nationally renowned live improvised soap opera Die-Nasty. In addition, the Varscona has hosted tapings of The Irrelevant Show, a national sketch comedy program aired on CBC Radio. The Varscona holds over 300 performances and has 30,000 audience members per year. It employs 100 local professional theatre artists.

The Garneau Theatre is a historic movie theatre located on 109 Street in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The theatre originally operated independently until it joined with Famous Players in 1941. It closed in late 1990, and reopened in December 1991 under Magic Lantern Theatres who restored it in 1996. Magic Lantern operated the Garneau until June 2011 when it closed. The Garneau became Metro Cinema's new home in July 2011, and was officially reopened in September 2011.It was designated a Municipal Historic Resource on October 28, 2009.Designed by noted Edmonton architect William Blakey and built in 1940, the Garneau is the only remaining theatre of the early modernist style and period in Alberta.
