La Casa Encendida is a social and cultural centre in central Madrid (on the Ronda de Valencia where it is met by Calle Valencia). It began operations in December 2002. It belongs to the Fundación Montemadrid (the formal title of which is Fundación Obra Social y Monte de Piedad de Madrid), a social responsibility entity set up by the Spanish bank Caja Madrid. Among its activities are avant-garde art exhibitions, and running courses and workshops on social matters, culture and the environment. The cultural programme includes performance art, film, exhibitions and other forms of contemporary creativity. It developed as a place which particularly supports young artists. The name La Casa Encendida ('The Burning House' in English) is taken from the eponymous book of the poet Luis Rosales Camacho, whose heirs gave their permission for its use.

The Teatro Valle-Inclán is a theatre in Madrid, Spain. Together with Teatro María Guerrero, it is the home of the Spanish Centro Dramático Nacional. It is located at plaza de Lavapiés, in the city centre, and opened in February 2006.Architects Ángela García de Paredes and Ignacio García Pedrosa received the 2007 Spanish Architecture Award for its design.

The name literally means "wash feet" possibly in the fountain in Plaza de Lavapiés which no longer exists.

Tabacalera de Lavapiés (Tabacalera of Lavapiés) or Centro Social Autogestionado La Tabacalera de Lavapiés (Self-managed Social Center Tabacalera of Lavapiés) is a well-known cultural and social center in Madrid, Spain. It consists of a large (9,200 m2; 97,000 sq ft) set of connected buildings in the central neighbourhood of Lavapiés. The buildings are property of the Spanish Ministry of Culture, although since 2010 its use has been transferred to a local grassroots association, and since then it is managed by a local organization. The space hosts a fab lab, a theatre, several music bands, artist collectives and social activities. It is considered one of the major spots for cultural activities in the city, especially among the youth.

The Golden Triangle of Art is made up of three important art museums located close to one another on the Paseo del Prado, in the centre of Madrid, Spain. It also houses the CaixaForum museum which will be the headquarters of the National Centre for the Visual Arts in the Old Tobacco Factory.. In 2021 the area was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The three art museums are: Prado Museum (Museo del Prado) — a National Museum featuring pre-20th-century art Reina Sofía Museum (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía) —a National Museum featuring 20th century modern art Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum — a National Art Museum with a collection of historical through contemporary art, open to the public.
