St Thomas' Church, Wednesfield

Wednesfield is a town and historic village in the City of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, It is 2 miles (3.2 km) east-northeast of Wolverhampton city centre, and is part of the West Midlands conurbation. It was historically within the county of Staffordshire. Its name comes from the Old English Wōdnesfeld meaning Woden's Field, open land belonging to, or holy to, the high god of the Germanic Pantheon. It is reported by the English Dialectal Society in the publication "A Glossary of dialectal place-nomenclature" available on-line in the Internet Archive of The University of Toronto Library, that the place name "Wednesfield" is pronounced by the local populace as "Wencefield". Local areas include Ashmore Park and Wood End. There is also a formal garden at Wednesfield Park.

Wednesfield railway station was a station built by the Wolverhampton and Walsall Railway in 1872, and was operated by the Midland Railway from 1876 onwards. It served the Wednesfield area of Wolverhampton, and was located near to Neachells Lane. The station closed in 1931. Although the line remained in use until the 1980s for the goods depot in Wednesfield and nearby factories.

Wednesfield Football Club are a football club based in Wednesfield, West Midlands, England. They were established in 1961. They have reached the 3rd round of the FA Vase twice in their history. They are members of the Midland League Division One.

Willenhall Town Football Club are a football club based in Willenhall, West Midlands, England, currently playing in the West Midlands (Regional) League Division One.

Bentley Bridge Leisure Park is an extensive modern leisure/retail park located in the Wednesfield area of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. It has been developed since the late 1990s, to the south of Wednesfield town centre. The park is split into two halves − a leisure area and a shopping area. The site is bounded by the Wyrley and Essington Canal and New Cross Hospital to the North and West, the recently built Wolverhampton Swimming and Fitness Centre to the South and Wednesfield Town to the East, which is easily accessed via a village link, consisting of an open plan amphitheatre style square, landscaped lawns and the newly built Wednesfield library. The first retailer to open was The Co-operative Food (owned by the then West Midlands Co-operative Society) but this was sold to Sainsbury's a few years later who subsequently expanded and refurbished the store.

Wednesfield South is a ward of Wolverhampton City Council, in the English county of West Midlands. It covers the southern and eastern parts of the town of Wednesfield, as well its town centre. It borders the East Park, Heath Town and Wednesfield North wards, as well as the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. It forms part of the Wolverhampton North East constituency. The eastern part is mainly residential covering the areas of Wednesfield Village and High Street, Lyndale Park, Perry Hall, Castlebridge, Wood End, Moathouse and Broad Lane South areas while the southern part is made up of the numerous industrial estates around Neachells Lane. University of Wolverhampton Wednesfield Academy is located within the ward. Central to the ward is the church of St. Thomas', this provides the focal point and landmark for Wednesfield.

Wood End is a suburb of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. It is situated to the north-east of the city centre, adjacent to the border with Staffordshire, near to Wednesfield. The centre of the district is the shopping area close to Wood End Primary School which includes a One Stop convenience store and other local shops. The area is served by services 65, 69, 57 and 25 which are operated by National Express West Midlands and Diamond Bus. It lies where the wards of Fallings Park and Wednesfield North meet.

New Cross Hospital is a hospital in the Heath Town district of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. It is located to the east of the city centre in Wednesfield and is managed by the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

University of Wolverhampton Wednesfield Academy (formerly Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy and previously Wednesfield High School) is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the Wednesfield area of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands of England. Previously a community school administered by Wolverhampton City Council, Wednesfield High School converted to academy status in January 2015 and was renamed Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy. The school is now sponsored by the University of Wolverhampton Multi Academy Trust. However the school continues to coordinate with Wolverhampton City Council for admissions. In September 2021, the academy was renamed University of Wolverhampton Wednesfield Academy. University of Wolverhampton Wednesfield Academy offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further BTECs. The school also has a specialism in engineering.

St Matthias School is a mixed secondary school located in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands of England.It was established as Deansfield High School in 1968, and serves the Deansfield area in the east of the city, around the Willenhall Road. It was later renamed Deansfield Community School. Deansfield Community School relocated to new buildings in 2015 and was renamed St Matthias School.

Heath Park School (known as 'Heath Park') is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the Heath Town area of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands of England.Previously a community school administered by Wolverhampton City Council, Heath Park converted to academy status in December 2011. However the school continues to coordinate with Wolverhampton City Council for admissions. Heath Park offers GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and BTECs. The sixth form provision is offered in conjunction with Moseley Park School.
