Carrowcrom Wedge Tomb is a wedge-shaped gallery grave and National Monument located in County Mayo, Ireland.

Corrimbla or Corimla is an area approximately 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) east/north-east of Ballina, County Mayo in Ireland. It comprises two townlands, Corimla North and Corimla South. Corrimbla covers roughly 2 square miles (5.2 km2) and is divided into north and south sides. The north side (Corimla North) is sparsely populated and inhabited by about 30 people. The south side (Corimla South, along the Bonniconlon road) has up to 70 people living in the area. The Little Brosna River and Glenree River pass through the townland.

Attymass (Irish: Áth Tí an Mheasaigh) is a village and civil parish in County Mayo, Ireland.

Shanaghy (Irish: Sean-Achaidh) is a townland to the east of Ballina in County Mayo, Ireland. It is in the parish of Kilmoremoy, and is part of Ardnaree for the purposes of Gaelic Athletic Association. It begins at the top of Ardnaree and extends eastwards along the main Bonniconlon Road, where it is bordered by the townlands of Mullauns, Rathkip and Behy. The exact border with Rathkip is often quite difficult to define, with the old course of the River Brusna being the boundary. In general, the south bank of the river is Shanaghy, however the course has changed over time and some houses on the South of the River Brusna would be considered Rathkip.

Ballycong (Irish: Béal Átha Conga) is a small townland southeast of Ballina, located between the River Moy and the Ox Mountains. Ballycong townland has an area of approximately 580 acres (0.91 sq mi), and had a population of 28 people as of the 2011 census. Ballycong Lough lies to the west of the townland, and the village of Attymass to the east. There are several peat bogs in the area.

Castleconnor (Irish: Caisleán Mhic Conchúir) is a civil parish in west County Sligo in Ireland. It lies in the historic barony of Tireragh. The Church of Ireland church at Killanley in Castleconnor was built in 1818. The Roman Catholic church of Castleconnor parish has provided service to the community since at least the 1830s. Many residents of Castleconnor parish emigrated to the United States in the 1840s.

St Muredach's College is an all-boys secondary school on the banks of the River Moy in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. It was founded in 1906 to provide a Catholic education for boys in the Killala Diocese. The school building, which was designed by William Henry Byrne, is included on the Record of Protected Structures maintained by Mayo County Council.

Belleek Castle, originally known as Belleek Manor, is a 19th-century manor house in Ballina, County Mayo in Ireland. Now operated as a hotel, the house was built between 1825 and 1831 in a neo-Gothic style. The 10-room hotel has a museum in its basement containing what is reputed to be Grace O'Malley's bed. It also has a collection of fossils and armoury and a bar named for the Spanish Armada in Ireland. Several structures on the site, including the manor house itself, a nearby mausoleum and 19th-century entrance archway, are included in the Record of Protected Structures maintained by Mayo County Council.

The Newman Institute is a charitable organisation based in Ballina, County Mayo in Ireland. Operating in conjunction with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killala, one of its stated aims is to "provide an opportunity for people to learn more about their faith through accredited and non-accredited faith formation courses". The Newman Institute was founded in 1998 by the then Bishop of Killala Thomas Finnegan. It is based in a building, near St Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina. which was officially opened in October 2010 by then President of Ireland, Mary McAleese. In January 2009, the organisation launched a Diploma in Applied Theology in association with St. Angela's College, Sligo which was accredited by the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). A Bachelor in Theology and Community Involvement course, also offered in association with St. Angela's and NUIG, was launched in 2010. The institute's first six degree students graduated in November 2015. The Newman Institute is registered with the Charities Regulator as being involved in the "advancement of education" and "advancement of religion". As of 2021, it had one full time employee.

St Muredach's Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killala in Ireland. It is located on the east bank of the River Moy in Ballina, County Mayo. It is also the parish church of the parish of Kilmoremoy. It is a detached six-bay double-height building on a cruciform plan comprising a four-bay double-height nave which opens into single-bay double-height transepts all centred on a single-bay double-height chancel. The cathedral's construction was initiated by Bishop John MacHale (1791–1881) who served as the Bishop of Killala from 1825 to 1834 and the completion of the cathedral in 1834 coincided with his translation to the Archdiocese of Tuam. The spire was completed in 1855 to the designs of the celebrated architect James Joseph McCarthy and further embellishment continued throughout the nineteenth century. The cathedral is situated in the townland of Abbeyhalfquarter. When built, it was in County Sligo, but since the 1898 revisions of county boundaries, it has been in County Mayo.
