Williams Bridge station

210th Street–Williamsbridge, signed as Williamsbridge–210th Street, was the penultimate station on the demolished IRT Third Avenue Line in the Bronx, New York City. It had three tracks and two side platforms. It was also in close proximity to Williamsbridge station of the New York and Harlem Railroad, which is today a station on the Metro-North Harlem Line. The next stop to the south was 204th Street. The next stop to the railroad north (compass east) was the lower level at Gun Hill Road under the IRT White Plains Road Line. The station opened on October 4, 1920, and closed on April 29, 1973.

The Gun Hill Road station is an express station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. Located in the Bronx at the intersection of Gun Hill and White Plains Roads, it is served by the 2 train at all times and by the 5 train during rush hours in the peak direction; limited a.m. rush hour 5 trains from Manhattan also terminate at this station in the northbound direction only.

Williamsbridge is a neighborhood geographically located in the north-central portion of the Bronx in New York City. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise are East 222nd Street to the north, Boston Road to the east, East Gun Hill Road to the south, and the Bronx River to the west. White Plains Road is the primary thoroughfare through Williamsbridge. The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community Board 12 and its ZIP Codes include 10466, 10467, and 10469. The area is patrolled by the 47th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) property in the area is patrolled by P.S.A. 8 at 2794 Randall Avenue in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx.

The Keeper's House at Williamsbridge Reservoir is a historic home located in the Borough of the Bronx in New York City. It was built in 1889 as part of the Williamsbridge Reservoir complex. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped stone house. The stones used to build the house were pieces of granite taken from the excavation of the reservoir it was to serve. It is 5,000 square feet (460 m2) in size and has a slate-covered gable roof with a clay tile roof ridge and copper gutters.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. At that time, it was acquired by the Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a non-profit enterprise founded by the Montefiore Medical Center in 1981, intended as a powerful antidote to widespread housing deterioration and abandonment in its surrounding neighborhood in the Norwood section of the Bronx. The corporation did a major renovation of the building and restored it to the point where it could provide modern conveniences. The house now serves as the corporation's headquarters. It is also the headquarters for the Norwood News.

Magenta Playground is a 1.21-acre (0.49-hectare) park in the Allerton section of The Bronx. It includes basketball and handball courts, a children's play area with a climbable seal sculpture, spray shower, and restrooms. Most of these were installed during a 1998 renovation.The land for the park was acquired by New York City via condemnation in 1960, and opened as a park in 1966. The park is adjacent to Bronx PS 41 and is operated jointly by NYC Parks and the NYC Department of Education. It is within Bronx City Council District 12. The name Magenta Playground dates to 1987, when the park was renamed.

U.S. Army General Hospital No. 1, also known as Columbia War Hospital, was a World War I era field hospital built by Columbia University on the Columbia Oval property in Norwood, The Bronx. The hospital was used as a medical training facility, a model for military field hospitals, and for long-term treatment of patients.

Williamsbridge Reservoir was a natural lake (despite its name) measuring 13.1 acres (5.3 ha) just south of Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. Specifically the body of water was located at 208th Street and Bainbridge Avenue. It was shaped like a saucer and was normally 41 feet (12 m) deep. Its water level dropped approximately 14 feet (4.3 m) in mid-August 1901. On April 3, 1934 Commissioner of Water Supply, Gas and Electricity, Maurice P. Davidson, proposed that it be offered to Robert Moses to be used as a park site. The reservoir had ceased to be used after 1919.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 754 Gun Hill Road, Williamsbridge, Bronx, New York City, New York. The parish was established in 1902–1903. The parish is currently run by Capuchin friars. The third pastor (appointed in 1906), the Rev. Contantino Cassaneti was chaplain on the public work of the Croton Dam, and had the temporary chapels of St. Michael and St. Mary's erected at Peekskill Quarry, New York, on the suggestion of the contractor and builder J. J. Coleman.

WFUV (90.7 FM) is a non–commercial radio station licensed to New York, New York. The station is owned by Fordham University, with studios on its Bronx campus and its antenna atop nearby Montefiore Medical Center. WFUV first went on the air in 1947. It became a professional public radio station in 1990 and is one of three NPR member stations in New York City. Its on-air staff has included radio veterans Dennis Elsas, Vin Scelsa, Pete Fornatale, and Rita Houston.

The Church of St. Mary is a former Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at White Plains Road at 215th Street in Williamsbridge, Bronx, New York City, New York. The church served the Williamsbridge area along with a parish school on East 215th Street, and later in the 1950s was closed and relocated to Carpenter Avenue and East 224th Street to accommodate the growing student population and shift of parishioners. The parish church was closed down when the influx of Jamaicans changed the demographics of the community in the 1990s, reducing the Catholic population to a point where the Archdiocese of New York could no longer support a Catholic parish in the area.

The Lenru is a co-operative apartment building in the Norwood neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City. The Lenru, (named after its original owner and his sister, Lenny and Ruth Kandell), was built in 1928 in the Jacobethan Revival style, which combined Tudor Revival and Gothic Revival or Elizabethan accents and was earmarked for restoration by the Mosholu Preservation Corporation in the late 1980s, becoming the corporation's first rehabilitation project. It sold to the Lenru Apartment Corporation to complete its conversion into a co-op in 1991.The structure stands across from the Williamsbridge Oval Park, the former site of the old Williamsbridge Reservoir. It contains 104 units and has 6 stories.

WVIP is a radio station licensed to New Rochelle, New York and serving the New York metropolitan area. WVIP features a Caribbean music format airing programming for the Afro-Caribbean community. Its studios are in New Rochelle, and its transmitter is located in Yonkers, New York. Historically, WVIP was an AM station in Mt. Kisco NY.
