Butler Armory

Butler is a city and the county seat of Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located 35 miles (56 km) north of Pittsburgh and is part of the Greater Pittsburgh region. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 13,502.

The Butler Historic District is a national historic district which is located in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Senator Walter Lowrie Shaw House is an historic home located in downtown Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. Considered the last of its kind in the city of Butler, it is known in the area for being the home of Butler's only United States Senator, Walter Lowrie. Situated behind the Butler County Courthouse, it houses the Butler County Historical Society's office, and is maintained as a museum by the Society.

St. Peter's Anglican Church is a historic Anglican church in Butler, Pennsylvania. Completed in 1896, the church is a contributing property to the Butler Historic District. The church was designed by noted church architect William Halsey Wood.

The Butler County Courthouse is a government building of Butler County located in the county seat, Butler, Pennsylvania. The current structure is the third courthouse to have been built for the county. The original courthouse, built in 1807, was a small structure made of stone. James P. Bailey, who was responsible for the construction of Old Main at Geneva College became the architect of the new courthouse after the second one was destroyed by a fire in 1883. It was built in 1885, and is a three-story, brick and sandstone building in an interpretation of the High Victorian Gothic style. It features a large central, four-faced clock tower with two double pyramid shaped roofs.Bailey's courthouse still stands today, and is currently the tallest structure in downtown Butler. The facility includes a Westinghouse elevator installed in the late 50s early 60s, several stained glass windows, a grand staircase connecting the first and second floors. The first and second floors are more designed to be gothic and art deco with several crown moldings, domed ceilings, marble floors and walls, and woodwork as well. The upper two floors have been made into offices and courtrooms. In the early 1990s a new government annex building was constructed beside the courthouse. The two structures are connected via skywalk. The annex building is 5 stories and consists of 2 basement levels, making a total of 7 floors. All 7 levels house offices and courtrooms. The Butler County Courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The Butler County National Bank, also known as the Lafayette Building and Butler Branch Mellon Bank, is an historic bank building which is located in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania. Situated next to the Butler County Courthouse, it is considered the first "skyscraper" to have been erected in Butler. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Elm Court, often referred to as Phillips Mansion, is a historic mansion located in Butler, Pennsylvania, Butler County, Pennsylvania. It was designed by architect Benno Janssen and built in 1929–1930. This 40-room residence is set into a hillside. The house measures 125.7 feet by 159 feet, and is built around a central courtyard. It is constructed of steel reinforced concrete and faced with limestone, marble, and slate. The house features complex slate roofs with many gables, large numbers of rectangular, oriel, and bay windows, interesting chimney treatments, and carved stone detailing reflecting the Tudor Revival style.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park is a baseball stadium located in Butler, Pennsylvania. Constructed in 1934, and rebuilt in 2008, the ballpark hosted minor league teams that were affiliated with the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Today, there are over 400 games played at the park. High School teams such as Karns City High School, Knoch High School, Moniteau High School, North Catholic High School as well as Butler High School utilize the ballpark during their school seasons. Local colleges and universities also use Pullman Park for some of their home games. Some of these schools include Butler County Community College, Clarion University, and Penn State Greater Allegheny. Tournaments have also been hosted by Atlantic Coast Baseball and West Penn Elite. The stadium's official home team tenant is the Butler BlueSox of the Tri-State Collegiate League.

WISR (680 AM) is a commercial radio station that is licensed to Butler, Pennsylvania. The station was the first to go on the air in Butler County, doing so on September 26, 1941. The station was the last to be granted a broadcast license before the FCC halted the licensing of any additional stations until after World War II. It has always broadcast on AM 680 with a maximum power output of 250 Watts, non-directional. WISR had operated as a daytime-only station until it was granted limited nighttime power in the late 1980s. The station has a construction permit for an FM translator (W298CW) that would allow it to operate at 107.5 MHz. The permit was granted January 25, 2018. The FM translator officially signed on air September 28, 2021, making WISR available on both the AM and FM bands, and was licensed effective October 15, 2021. After more than two decades of ownership under the Butler County Radio Network, WISR was sold to Pittsburgh Radio Partners on September 2, 2022. After less than two months, St. Barnabas Broadcasting announced that it would acquire WISR and its affiliate stations from Pittsburgh Radio Partners. The purchase was consummated on February 14, 2023, at a price of $2.55 million.

Meadowood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,693 at the 2010 census.

Butler Area Senior High School is a coeducational public senior high school in Butler, Pennsylvania, United States, serving grades 9–12. It is the senior high school for the Butler Area School District. The school was founded in 1908, moved to a larger building on an adjacent site in 1917, and moved again to its current site in 1960.

The Butler Area School District is a very large school district in western Pennsylvania. It encompasses approximately 144 square miles (370 km2) and covers the City of Butler, the Boroughs of Connoquenessing and East Butler and Butler Township, Center Township, Clearfield Township, Connoquenessing Township, Oakland Township and Summit Township. The district operates ten schools -- Center Township Elementary School (grades K-6), Connoquenessing Elementary School (grades K-6), Emily Brittain Community Partnership and Demonstration School (grades K-6), McQuistion Elementary School (grades K-6), Northwest Elementary School (grades K-6), Summit Elementary School (grades K-6), Butler Intermediate High School (grades 6-8), Butler Senior High School (grades 9-12), and Center Avenue Community School (grades K-12). The 2006 enrollment for elementary students is 4310 students and for secondary schools is 3946 students.
