Bendale Business and Technical Institute (Bendale BTI, BBTI, or Bendale), formerly Bendale Secondary School and Bendale Vocational School is a defunct specialized technical public high school that was located in Bendale, a neighbourhood in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada owned by the Scarborough Board of Education, that succeeded its operations into the present Toronto District School Board prior to merger. Existed from 1963 until its closure in 2019, it was the first vocational school that served in the former borough of Scarborough in which the school tailored for students with life skills or pursue career in the industry. The school's motto was Flourish Through Industry. The school merged with David and Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute in 2019, after which it was demolished with the former race track was replaced by the new school building. Bendale was located on the eastern corner of Midland Avenue north of Lawrence Avenue East.

Scarborough Health Network (SHN), formerly The Scarborough Hospital is a hospital network in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It operates the Scarborough General, Centenary, and Birchmount hospitals. The three are major community health hospitals with teaching affiliations to the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine.

The Scarborough General Hospital (officially Scarborough Health Network, General Hospital) is a major hospital in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Located northwest of the intersection of McCowan Road and Lawrence Avenue East, the hospital opened in 1956 as the first in the former township of Scarborough.

David and Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute (sometimes called David and Mary Thomson, DMT, DMTCI, Thomson CI or Thomson) is a semestered English-language high school located in the Bendale neighbourhood in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, originally sanctioned by the Scarborough Board of Education and since 1998 under its successor board, the Toronto District School Board. From 1959–60 until the 2018–19 school year, Thomson was housed in the Lawrence Avenue East building constructed in 1958 and the new school building was built in the former Bendale Business and Technical Institute property in 2019. The school was named after David and Mary Thomson, the first European settlers that immigrated to Scarborough in the late 18th century. Its motto is Nil Sine Magno Labore (Nothing without great effort).

The Scarborough Civic Centre is a civic centre located in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was designed by architect Raymond Moriyama during the development of Scarborough City Centre and initially opened as the city hall of the former borough of Scarborough by then mayor Albert Campbell and Queen Elizabeth II in 1973. The building served as the municipal office and office for the Scarborough Board of Education. Following the amalgamation of Toronto, Scarborough lost its city status and the civic centre became a secondary hub for the City of Toronto government. It is also home to the Scarborough Community Council and offices of the Toronto District School Board. The civic centre is adjacent to Albert Campbell Square. It is south of Scarborough Centre station and the Scarborough Town Centre shopping mall.

Scarborough City Centre is a commercial district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was the central business district for the former city of Scarborough, which amalgamated with Toronto in 1998. Scarborough City Centre remains one of the central business districts outside Downtown Toronto.

Bendale, also called Cedarbrae and Midland Park, is a residential neighbourhood in the eastern part of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the former suburb of Scarborough. It is centred on the intersection of Lawrence Avenue East and Brimley Road. Its boundaries, as defined by the City, are Midland Avenue from Lawrence, north to Highway 401, east to McCowan, south to Lawrence, east to West Highland Creek, south-west along West Highland Creek, then follow several side streets parallel to the Creek, north to Midland Avenue. The area north of Ellesmere is typically considered the Scarborough City Centre district, and is not considered in this neighbourhood article. Bendale was shortened from the original name Benlomond in 1881, which was named for Ben Lomond.

Albert Campbell Square is a public square in Scarborough City Centre in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is named after Albert Campbell, the first mayor of the Borough of Scarborough and former Chairman of the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto. Albert Campbell Square is located at 150 Borough Drive, adjacent to the Scarborough Civic Centre south of Scarborough Centre station and Scarborough Town Centre shopping mall.

The Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology (TIPT) is a registered private career college located in Toronto, Ontario and is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology a North American technology Institute providing specialized education and training in pharmaceutical sciences and technology. The Institute was established to provide the bridge between academia and industry delivering experiential training to science graduates. TIPT has over 4000 graduates who are qualified professionals.

Lawrence–Kennedy GO Station (also known as Lawrence East GO Station) was a planned GO Transit train station to be built by Metrolinx under Lawrence Avenue in Toronto on the site of the existing Lawrence East station. Parking, a kiss and ride area, a bus loop, and pedestrian access from the Lawrence Avenue overpass will be provided. It was initially proposed as part of SmartTrack but was removed from the plan in January 2021.

The Canada Centre Building in Scarborough, Toronto, houses the offices of Service Canada, Human Resources and Social Development Canada, Passport Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency. Sandwiched between the Scarborough Civic Centre and Scarborough Town Centre shopping mall, the building was completed in 1986. Its opening came shortly after the opening of the Scarborough RT the preceding year, and it is easily accessible from Scarborough Centre RT station.

Lawrence East is a rapid transit station on Line 3 Scarborough of the Toronto subway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The station is located underneath the elevated portion of Lawrence Avenue East, in the Midland Avenue and Kennedy Road corridor. It is the third-busiest station on Line 3, after Kennedy and Scarborough Centre. In February 2021, the TTC recommended the closure of Line 3 in 2023 and its replacement by bus service until the completion of Scarborough extension of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. After the closure of this station, a new Lawrence East station would be built along the planned Line 2 extension on the southwest corner of Lawrence Avenue East and McCowan Road.
