Mount Carmel Community Hospital (Irish: Ospidéal Pobail Mount Carmel) is a short-stay rehabilitation hospital in Churchtown, Dublin, Ireland.

The High School is a 12–18 mixed, Church of Ireland, Independent secondary school in Rathgar, Dublin, Ireland. It was established in 1870 at Harcourt Street before moving to Rathgar in 1971 and amalgamated with The Diocesan School for Girls in 1974, becoming co-educational. In 2009, it was ranked as the best-performing school in Ireland in terms of progression to third-level education and is part of the Erasmus Smith Trust.

De La Salle College is an all-male state secondary school in Churchtown, Dublin 14, in Ireland. It is a non-fee paying school which has educational facilities to cater for about 500 pupils. The school was officially opened in 1952 and moved to its present location in 1957. Since then, the college has extended in 1986 and 1997 to cater for the increase in the number of pupils wishing to attend. De La Salle College Churchtown is a member of Le Cheile Schools Trust.The Brothers of De La Salle are the trustees of the college and it is under the control of a board of management. Ms. Siobhan Foster is the current principal. There are approximately 35 teachers offering pupils an opportunity to explore science and technology.

Stratford College is an independent co-educational multi-denominational day school on the junction of Zion Road and Orwell Road, Dublin, Ireland predominantly for people of the Jewish faith. One of the main founders was Elaine Feldman. The school is located adjacent to Herzog Park. The school evolved from the opening of Stratford National School in September 1952 on Terenure Road East with a small group of children from the Jewish national school on Bloomfield Avenue in Portobello. The school takes its name from a house by the name of Stratford on Terenure Road East which was designed by the architect Thomas Drew in 1877.The school building on Zion Road was originally a house built in 1873. It was badly damaged in a fire caused by vandals in 1979 but reopened in 1983 with only the facade being retained. The building was originally designed by the architect Alfred Edwin Jones. As of 2023, the school is officially multi-denominational. School fees for the 2022–23 academic year were €4,400.

Herzog Park (Irish: Páirc Herzog) is a park located in Rathgar, Dublin.

Rathgar (Irish: Ráth Garbh, meaning 'rough ringfort'), is a suburb of Dublin in Ireland. It was originally a village which from 1862 was part of the township of Rathmines and Rathgar; it was absorbed by the growing city and became a suburb in 1930. It lies about three kilometres south of the city centre.

Trinity Hall is the main extramural hall of residence for students of the University of Dublin, Trinity College in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. It is located on Dartry Road in Dartry near Rathmines, about three miles south of the college.

It is a suburban area at the foot of the Dublin mountains between Churchtown and Rathfarnham around the Nutgrove Shopping Centre. It used to be the home of HB, an ice cream company in Ireland. HB was originally an abbreviation for Hughes Brothers' Dairy, now produced by Unilever and part of the Heartbrand. HB Dairies was demolished in 2005 and replaced with several new retail units, apartments and office space. Tenants in the new units include Homebase Hardware, Harvey Normans, an Aldi supermarket and Harry Coreys Furniture. Nutgrove has a very young population. The area's Loreto Park opposite Nutgrove Shopping Centre often hosts a circus during the summer months. Loreto Park hosts home games of Leicester Celtic and Nutgrove Celtic. Leicester Celtic also have a floodlit, all-weather pitch located off the Barton Road Extension close to Grange Manor and Grange Downs. Its most famous inhabitant was William Domville Handcock, the eldest son of William Elias Handcock and a descendant of William Handcock (Westmeath politician)|William Handcock, who came to Ireland with Oliver Cromwell's army during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland and settled at Twyford in County Westmeath. He was born on 2 September 1830, and having been educated at Nutgrove School, Rathfarnham, and at Trinity College, Dublin, took his degree in 1852. As a magistrate for the County Dublin, Mr. Handcock constantly presided on the Tallaght Petty Sessions bench, of which he was a much-valued member. He was also a Guardian of the South Dublin Union, and a frequent attendant at the meetings of that board. For many years he was an active supporter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He died on 5 June 1887.
