Beginish Island

Knightstown (Irish: Baile an Ridire, also An Chois), alternatively called Knight's Town, is a village and the largest settlement on Valentia Island, County Kerry, in Ireland. It lies within the townland of Farranreagh, at the eastern tip of the island. As of the CSO census of 2016, Knightstown had a population of 243.

The Valentia Lifeboat Station is located at Knightstown, Valentia Island, County Kerry, Ireland. The first lifeboat house in the area was constructed in 1864 on the mainland at Reenard Point, facing the island of Valentia. It closed in 1896, and was reopened in 1946. Between 1939 and 1945, an auxiliary rescue boat had been stationed at Valentia to help aircraft personnel flying in from the Atlantic during Second World War. A new boathouse was constructed in 1995, and the following year, the station received the John and Margaret Doig, a Severn-class lifeboat, becoming one of the 35 Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) stations around the British Isles to operate the RNLI's largest lifeboat. In 1985, its personnel participated in the recovery of corpses from Air India Flight 182, the worst aviation disaster in Irish territory.

Church Island is a medieval Christian monastery and National Monument located in Valentia Harbour, Ireland.

Cromwell Point Lighthouse, also known as Valentia Lighthouse, is an active 19th century lighthouse located on Valentia Island's Cromwell Point in County Kerry, Ireland. It provides guidance for vessels entering Valentia Harbour from the north.

Valentia Harbour railway station was the terminus of the Farranfore–Valentia Harbour line originally operated by the Great Southern and Western Railway in Ireland. It was the most westerly railway station in Europe.

Reenard (Irish: an Rinn Aird) is a townland in County Kerry, Ireland. It is located in north central Iveragh Peninsula on the southwest coast of Ireland opposite Valentia Island about 5 miles west of Cahersiveen. Reenard is connected to the Irish road network by a road crossing the N70 national secondary route at Point's Cross. Reenard Point, located in the townland, is the mainland terminal for the car ferry to Knightstown on Valentia Island.

Chapeltown (Irish: An Caol) is a village on Valentia Island in the south-west of County Kerry. It is the second major settlement on the Island, the other being Knightstown 4 kilometers away. Chapeltown is located in the centre of the Island, approximately 3 kilometers from the bridge which links the island to the mainland at Portmagee. Chapeltown is a relatively small village with a basic range of services and is the first settlement reached when travelling to Valentia over the bridge from Portmagee. The island primary school (Scoil Naisiúnta Dar Earca), a community center and GAA grounds serve the entire island. In this sense Chapeltown acts as the social centre for Valentia island as a whole.

Ballycarbery Castle is a castle 3 kilometres (2 mi) from Cahersiveen, County Kerry, Ireland. The castle is high on a grass hill facing the sea and is a short distance from Cahergall Fort and Leacanabuile Fort.

Leacanabuaile is a stone ringfort (cashel) and National Monument in County Kerry, Ireland. Leacanabuaile is immediately northwest of Cahergal, 3 km (1.9 mi) northwest of Cahirciveen.

Reenard (or Renard as it is also spelled) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from the Kerry, Ireland townland of Reenard. The club competes in Gaelic football competitions organized by the Kerry county board and the South Kerry divisional board. Together with nine other clubs they supply players to the South Kerry Divisional team.

Valentia Young Islanders are a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Valentia Island, South County Kerry, Ireland. They play in Division 4 of the county league and in the Kerry Novice Football Championship. The club's most recent success has been winning the Munster Junior football championship final after beating Kildimo-Pallaskenry 12 points to 1-8 on 25 January 2015. The Young Islanders is one of the many clubs affected by mass emigration, losing numerous players in this manner. In recent years the club has struggled to field a sufficient number of players and has at times explored the option of merging with other local clubs.
