Nicetown–Tioga is a neighborhood in the North Philadelphia section of the city of Philadelphia, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It comprises two smaller, older neighborhoods, Nicetown and Tioga, although the distinction between the two is rarely emphasized today. The name "Nicetown" is often simply used to refer to any part of Nicetown–Tioga.

Simon Gratz High School Mastery Charter, formerly Simon Gratz High School is a secondary school in Philadelphia, named after Simon Gratz (1840-1925), a member of the Philadelphia Board of Education. Originally a public high school operated by the School District of Philadelphia, Gratz has been operated as a charter school by Mastery Schools since September 2011. Students from the previous public school's enrollment area are eligible to attend. It is the fifth Philadelphia high school operated by Mastery. In 2012, the school was removed from the Persistently Dangerous Schools List while under the new management of Mastery. Part of the building is used for Mastery’s Prep Middle School (7-8th grade).

Erie station is a subway station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, served by the SEPTA Broad Street Line. It is located in North Philadelphia under the intersection of 3700 North Broad Street and Erie Avenue. Since Erie is an express station, it has four tracks and two central platforms, with express and Ridge Spur trains operating on the inner tracks and local trains operating on the outer tracks. This station has two mezzanine levels located above the track level. One is an entrance/exit mezzanine which holds turnstiles and the payment booth, while the other is exit-only. The station is located near the former Luzerne Depot, a former trolley barn which became an all bus garage, and is now a cardboard recycling plant.As of 2007, Erie station had approximately 6,842 boardings a day, making it the fourth busiest station on the line.There is a flying junction north of Erie Station; originally built for the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway, it served as the northbound terminus for the Broad-Ridge Spur until service was extended to Fern Rock.

Max's Steaks is a cheesesteak and hoagie restaurant that was founded in 1994 on Germantown Ave in Nicetown, North Philadelphia. The restaurant is known for its whole cheesesteaks sometimes referred to as the "Giant" which is two feet long. The restaurant is attached to a bar called Eagle Bar.

Hunting Park station is a SEPTA subway stop in Philadelphia. Served by the Broad Street Line, it is located at 4200 North Broad Street at Hunting Park Avenue in the Hunting Park section of North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is a local station, and thus has four tracks, with only the outer two being served. There are separate fare control areas for the northbound and southbound platforms, and no crossover exists. Hunting Park station is located east of Marcus Foster Memorial Stadium, and south and east of US 13.

National Bank of North Philadelphia, (also known as the Beury Building), is a historic bank building located in the Nicetown-Tioga neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The original section was built in 1926, and is a 10- to 11-story, limestone, brick and terra cotta building in the Art Deco style. It is topped by a three-story penthouse with a pyramidal roof.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Brown Instrument Company was a U.S. firm known for high-quality instruments (such as pyrometers, thermometers, hygrometers, tachometers, pressure gauges, flow meters, ammeters, and voltmeters) and industrial controls. The company was founded in 1857 in Philadelphia by Edward Brown, inventor of the first pyrometer of American design. In 1934, the firm became a division of Honeywell. The company was a large employer in North Philadelphia during most of the 20th century. A large brick factory building across Windrim Avenue from Wayne Junction, currently Extra Space Storage, was a principal Brown Instrument Company building. A 1921 catalog mentions laboratories here. The Wayne Avenue façade still has "Brown Instrument Co" relieved into the concrete. A Google Book search for "Brown Instrument" "Wayne Ave" shows multiple addresses for the company on the 4400 and 4500 blocks of Wayne Ave, which straddle Wayne Junction. Another search result from 1915 mentions 311 Walnut St. Across the regional rail tracks from Fern Rock Transportation Center there is another old factory building topped by a sign marked "Honeywell – Brown Instrument Division". The firm later moved to Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. Honeywell's automation and control businesses still have a campus there, although the Brown Instrument name has been retired.

The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), located on the Health Science Campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, is one of 7 schools of medicine in Pennsylvania conferring the M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) degree. It also confers the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) and M.S. (Master of Science) degrees in biomedical sciences. In addition, LKSOM offers a Narrative Medicine Program. In July 2014, Lewis Katz School of Medicine's scientists became the first to remove HIV from human cells. Temple University's Fox Chase Cancer Center is ranked 9th best Hospital for Adult Cancer by U.S. News & World Report. LKSOM reported 15,624 applications in 2020 (class of 2024) for a class size of 210 students; 340 of the total 9,624 applications received acceptance, translating to a 1.3% acceptance rate.

Temple University Hospital (TUH) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is an academic medical center in the United States which is a part of the healthcare network Temple Health. It is the chief clinical training site for the Temple University School of Medicine. The hospital currently has a 722-bed capacity that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to the surrounding community, and highly specialized tertiary services in the Delaware Valley. In 2015, Temple University Hospital had more than 84,000 emergency department and 200,000 outpatient visits. In August 2011, Becker's Hospital Review listed Temple University Hospital as number 10 on the 100 Top Grossing Hospitals in America with $5.9 billion in gross revenue.

Midvale Steel was a succession of steel-making corporations whose flagship plant was the Midvale Steel Works in Nicetown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The mill operated from 1867 until 1976. In the 1880s, Frederick Winslow Taylor rose through the ranks at Midvale, from lathe operator, to gang boss, to engineer, to chief engineer of the works. During this time he developed the core of his philosophy of scientific management.

The Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) is a graduate pharmacy school of the Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 1901, it offers Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Science degrees.

Wayne Junction station is a SEPTA Regional Rail junction station located at 4481 Wayne Avenue, extending along Windrim Avenue to Germantown Avenue. The station is located in the Nicetown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Wayne Junction serves as a multi-modal transfer point between six of SEPTA's regional rail lines as well as three major transit routes – the Route 75 Trackless Trolley and the Route 23 and 53 bus lines. The station served more than 321,000 riders annually in 2018.
