Bellanaleck

Arney is a civil parish located in the barony of Clanawley and Tirkennedy in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clogher.

The Battle of the Ford of the Biscuits took place in Fermanagh, Ireland on 7 August 1594, during the Nine Years' War. A column of almost 650 English troops led by Sir Henry Duke was ambushed and defeated by a Gaelic Irish force under Hugh Maguire and Cormac MacBaron O'Neill at the Arney River. The English column had been sent to relieve and resupply Enniskillen Castle, which had been under siege by the Irish since May. The English suffered at least 56 killed and 69 wounded, and were forced to make a hasty retreat. The battle gained its name because the supplies of the English, largely hard biscuits, were left scattered and floating in the river. The battle was an early engagement of the Nine Years' War, and exposed the vulnerability of the English to ambushes in the wilder parts of Ulster with its thick woods and bogs.

Skea (from Irish Sceach, meaning 'thorn-bush') is a small village and townland in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It had a population of 114 people (along with Arney) in the 2001 Census. It lies within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.

Arney (from Irish an Arna) is a small village in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It lies to the southwest of Enniskillen, between the village of Bellanaleck and the Five Points crossroads. Arney takes its name from the Arney River that feeds Lough Erne. It had a population of 125 people (along with Skea) in the 2011 Census. It is situated within Fermanagh and Omagh district.

Lisgoole Abbey (Irish: Lios Gabhail) is a large Georgian house with a battlement tower at one end, with substantial grounds, near Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. It is now privately owned but was once a monastic site, built around the 12th century. The abbey was burned in 1360 but was soon restored. It escaped the worst excesses of religious persecution, and was handed over to the Franciscan order in 1583. Irish historian and scholar Mícheál Ó Cléirigh stopped there in 1631 and compiled the Lebor Gabála Érenn, the book of invasions, a narrative in Gaelic, together with O'Mulcrony, Cucoigry O'Glery, O Duigenan and Gilla Patrick O' Lennon. It has subsequently had many uses, including an orphanage in the 19th century, and a base for American army divisions during the Second World War.

Macken or Mackan (from Irish Meacan) is a small hamlet and townland in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, off the A509 main Enniskillen to Derrylin road. Once quite a sizeable village it has now dwindled to containing only a few scattered farmsteads.

The Sillees River (Irish: Abhainn na Sailchis meaning "the sally kesh river") is located in south-western County Fermanagh, Ireland. Its origins lie in Lough Ahork, which is located in Lough Navar Forest (Coill Loch na bhFear). From here it continues through Correl Glen, Derrygonnelly and the Boho countryside, passing through both Carran and Ross Loughs where it ends in Lower Lough Erne.There are a few tributary streams and rivers that flow into the Sillees river, amongst them the Boho River, the Screenagh, which emerges from the Arch cave, and the Reyfad Stream, which enters Pollytullybrack of the Reyfad cave system.

Killyhevlin Hotel is a hotel situated 1 km from Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, just off the main A4 Dublin Road. It is a four star 70-bedroom hotel, with restaurant, spa, swimming pool and health club, on the shores of Lough Erne, surrounded by private grounds and gardens. The hotel was originally owned by Raymond B McCartney who was also the entrepreneur who began the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh and the Belmore Court & Motel, Enniskillen. It has been owned and managed by the Watson family since 1976, who began a major expansion and rebranding initiative in 2004.

Devenish College is a secondary school located in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It lies within the Western Education Authority area. Construction has now, however, started on the new build, due to be completed by November 2021. It cost £25.6m.

Castle Coole (from Irish: Cúl) is a townland and a late-18th-century neo-classical mansion situated in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. Set in a 1,200-acre (490 ha) wooded estate, it is one of three properties owned and managed by the National Trust in County Fermanagh, the others being Florence Court and the Crom Estate. The townland, which is 529 acres (214 ha) in size, is situated in the civil parish of Derryvullan, in the historic barony of Tirkennedy, as well as Fermanagh and Omagh district.

Waterways Ireland (Irish: Uiscebhealaí Éireann; Ulster-Scots: Watterweys Airlann) is one of the six all-Ireland North/South implementation bodies established under the Belfast Agreement in 1999. It is responsible for the management, maintenance, development, and restoration of inland navigable waterways primarily for recreational purposes. Included as inland waterways are the Barrow Navigation, the Erne System, the Grand Canal, the Lower Bann, the Royal Canal, the Shannon–Erne Waterway and the Shannon Navigation. Waterways Ireland has its headquarters in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, and regional offices in Carrick-on-Shannon, Dublin, and Scarriff in the Republic of Ireland. The Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre is located at 2 Grand Canal Quay, Ringsend, Dublin. The building was constructed on the waters of the inner basin of Grand Canal Dock.

County Buildings is a municipal facility in East Bridge Street, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It served as the headquarters of Fermanagh County Council from 1960 to 1973.
