Woodbury is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 8,907 at the 2010 census.Woodbury borders Laurel Hollow to the north, Plainview to the south, Syosset to the west, and Cold Spring Harbor, West Hills and South Huntington to the east. Woodbury is located approximately 35 miles (57 km) east of Midtown Manhattan.

Our Lady of Mercy Academy is a private Catholic College preparatory school for young women, founded in 1928 in Syosset, NY. The academy is governed by a board of directors and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. Our Lady of Mercy Academy is chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York, is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and is a member of the Mercy Secondary Education Association and the National Catholic Education Association. WKWZ 88.5 FM is a non-commercial educational high school radio station licensed to Syosset, New York. The station is owned and operated by the Syosset Central School District, with studios located at Syosset High School in the basement of the faculty parking lot. The station broadcasts from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., it offers students an involvement in newscasting, sportscasting, engineering and all aspects of broadcasting. Student training allows them to take the Federal Communication engineering exam which is needed to broadcast on the radio station. WKWZ broadcasts to the town of Oyster Bay, with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 125 watts, extending its reach to include eastern Nassau County and parts of western Suffolk County, New York. The station has been on the air since 1971. WKWZ shares its frequency and shares time with WPOB Plainview NY.

WPOB is a community radio station funded by the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District and has been broadcasting since 1972. WPOB is broadcast by students at Plainview – Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School partaking in a three-year course in radio engineering, producing and broadcasting. The station airs from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays and shares time with Syosset High School's WKWZ in Syosset, New York.

Syosset High School (SHS) is a public high school located in Syosset, New York, United States, in Nassau County, on Long Island. It serves as the public high school for residents of the Syosset Central School District. As of 2012, the news magazine Newsweek ranked the high school 42nd best in the United States. Syosset High School has been ranked #7 in New York by niche.com as of 2022.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,237 students, with approximately 500 students per graduating class, and 214.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.4:1. There were 213 students (9.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 20 (0.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Schenck-Mann House is a historic home located at Syosset in Nassau County, New York. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, five-bay-wide timber-framed residence with a wood shingle gable roof and rectangular plan. The western three bays were built about 1700. The house was extensively renovated during the 1940s after a period of abandonment.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

It is one of over 200 Coptic Orthodox Churches in the United States.

Eastern Military Academy (EMA) was a high school military academy founded in 1944 in Connecticut, United States, by Roland R. Robinson, a former mathematics teacher at Peekskill Military Academy (now also defunct), and his brother-in-law, Carleton Witham. The relationship with the local town was poor from the start, and in 1948 the school moved to Cold Spring Hills on Long Island, New York, until the school closed in 1979.

Oheka Castle, also known as the Otto Kahn Estate, is a hotel located on the North Shore (or "Gold Coast") of Long Island, in West Hills, New York, a hamlet in the town of Huntington. It was the country home of investment financier and philanthropist Otto Hermann Kahn and his family. The name "Oheka" is an acronym using the first several letters of each part of its creator's name, Otto Hermann Kahn, which Kahn also used to name his yacht Oheka II and his oceanfront Villa Oheka in Palm Beach, Florida. The mansion, built by Kahn between 1914 and 1919, is the largest private home in New York, and the third largest in the United States, comprising 127 rooms and over 109,000 sq ft (10,100 m2), as originally configured. The castle is now a hotel with 32 guest rooms and suites. It is a popular wedding venue for socialites, celebrities and dignitaries, as well as the backdrop to many photo shoots, television series and films. It also offers a bar, restaurant, and mansion tours of the estate and gardens. In 2004, Oheka was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Cold Spring Harbor is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Port Jefferson Branch at West Pulaski Road and East Gate Drive, just south of Woodbury Road in West Hills, New York.

Hewlett House is a historic home located at Cold Spring Harbor in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It is a two-story, gable roofed dwelling built about 1815 and enlarged in the 1870s. It features a one-story, shed roof front porch with a bracketed cornice and square columns.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
