The Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center is located at 5798 County Road 77 near Bunker Hill in Berlin, Holmes County, Ohio. It houses the Behalt cyclorama, one of a handful of remaining cycloramas worldwide and the only one painted by a single artist. The cyclorama presents the history of Anabaptism. The center also houses the Ohio Amish Library and the Zollikon Institute.

President Calvin Coolidge appointed Senator Pomerene as one of two individuals to investigate the Teapot Dome scandal of the Harding Administration. He was one of the two primary sponsors of the Webb-Pomerene Act of 1918, regulating American investments overseas. During the 1928 Democratic National Convention, his name was placed before the convention as a potential presidential candidate.The house was built in 1879 in an Italianate style. It is rectangular with a brick façade over a wood frame. The north face is symmetrical with the front door centered under an arched transom.

As of the 2020 census the population of the township was 4,546, up from 4,252 at the 2010 census. As of 2011–15, 38.9% of the population spoke only English, 48.1% spoke Pennsylvania German at home, and 12.3% spoke German. According to the 2019 "ACS 5-Year Estimates Data Profiles", the percentage of English only speakers decreased to 35.7%, while speakers of "other Indo-European languages" (basically Pennsylvania German/German), increased to 64.0% of the township's population.

Boyd School is a brick Italianate style one-room school house built in 1889, in Holmes County, Ohio. It was used as a schoolhouse until 1962. The brick building replaced another building that was built during the American Civil War. It is the only preserved one-room schoolhouse in the county. It is located northwest of Berlin on the Fryburg-Fredericksbury-Boyd Road.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
