Bocan Stone Circle is a stone circle situated near the village of Culdaff in the north of Inishowen, a peninsula on the north coast of County Donegal in Ulster, the northern province in Ireland.

As of 2016, the population was 237.The present village dates back to the 8th century and was originally the site of the monastery of St Buadán (Baithéne mac Brénaind), after which the Church of Ireland is named. William Lawson Micks and Samuel Arnold Lawson, acted as Trustees for one hundred acres of bogland at Meenawarra near Culdaff on behalf of the purchaser, Jane Leferre.

Carndonagh (karn-DUN-ah; Irish: Carn Domhnach) is a town on the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal, Ireland, close to Trawbreaga Bay. It is the site of the Donagh Cross (or St. Patrick's Cross), believed to date to the 7th century. The Irish name, Carn Domhnach, means "the cairn or mound of the church".

The Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) carried out two bomb attacks against British coal ships in February 1981 and February 1982 at Lough Foyle, a large inlet between County Londonderry in Northern Ireland and County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland. The IRA used hijacked pilot boats to board the ships. Both vessels were sunk, but their crews reached the coastline safely in lifeboats.

The Cabry River is located in north County Donegal, Ireland. It flows into Lough Foyle after passing under the late-18th century bridge at Quigley's Point, known locally as "Carrowkeel". The mouth of the river is in Quigley's Point, a village within the nearby townlands of Cabry, Carrowkeel, Gortanny, Magheralahan, and Meenavanaghan, all in County Donegal. The river is known for its deposits of alluvial gold, which have been found in gravel bars in the lower course of the river and are believed to have originated from a local gold mineralization source. The Cabry River's gold deposits also contain silver, lead, nickel, and bismuth-telluride, as well as galena, pyrite, and chalcopyrite. The river flows over Dalradian Supergroup bedrock, as well as glacial debris and Carboniferous age bedrock in its lower course. The occurrence of alluvial gold in the Cabry River has been reported since at least 1935 and the site is considered an important County Geological Site and may be recommended for designation as a Geological National Heritage Area.
