Sheldon Power Station

The Hallam Nuclear Power Facility (HNPF) in Nebraska was a 75 MWe sodium-cooled graphite-moderated nuclear power plant built by Atomics International and operated by Consumers Public Power District of Nebraska. It was built in tandem with and co-located with a conventional coal-fired power station, the Sheldon Power Station. The facility featured a shared turbo generator that could accept steam from either heat source, and a shared control room. Full power was achieved in July 1963. The facility shut down on September 27, 1964 to resolve reactor problems. In May 1966, Consumers Public Power District rejected their option to purchase the facility from the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). In response, the AEC announced its plan to decommission the facility in June, 1966. The facility operated for 6,271 hours and generated 192,458,000 kW-hrs of electric power.It was located near Hallam, about 25 miles southwest of Lincoln.

Bluestem State Recreation Area (SRA) is a state park in southeastern Nebraska, United States. The recreation area is located on the 325-acre Bluestem Reservoir, approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) west of Sprague, or about 18 miles (29 km) south of the State Capitol, Lincoln. The recreation area is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The area is popular for boating, fishing, camping, and swimming. The reservoir is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, walleye and crappies. There are 19 primitive campsites.

The William H. Charlton House is a historic two-story house in Roca, Nebraska. It was built in 1872 for farmer William H. Charlton, and designed by architect Artemas Roberts in the Italianate style, with "characteristic tall proportions, emphatic porch, decorative window surrounds, and bracketed eaves." Charlton lived here with his wife, née Mary E. Lidolph, and their three children, and he became a widower in 1877; he later married Phoebe Adelaide Thornton. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since January 25, 1997.

The Norris Forest School Arboretum 160 acres (0.6 km2) is an arboretum located four miles (6 km) south of Hickman, Nebraska, and extends all around the grade school, middle school and high school buildings of the Norris School District. The Arboretum contains a collection of approximately 400 trees and shrubs representing over 90 species, as well as a display of native grasses and plants, annual and perennial flowers, and a learning center (gazebo).

Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center is an 850-acre (340 ha) tallgrass prairie nature preserve located southwest of Lincoln, Nebraska near Denton. Established in 1998, it is home to 222 bird species, 30 mammal species, 53 butterfly species, 35, dragonfly/damselfly species, and over 370 plants. Roughly three miles of walking trails run through the prairie. 19th-century wagon ruts from the Nebraska City-Fort Kearny Cutoff to the Oregon Trail can be observed. An education building opened in 2006, employing many green features.

Stagecoach State Recreation Area (SRA) is a state recreation area in southeastern Nebraska, United States. The recreation area surrounds the 195-acre (0.79 km2) Stagecoach Lake, located approximately 20 miles (32 km) south of Lincoln. The recreation area is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
