Maple High School (Maple, Ontario)

On December 18, 2022, a mass shooting occurred at the Bellaria Residences condominium tower in Vaughan, a suburb north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Six people were killed, including the gunman, 73-year-old Francesco Villi, who was shot and killed by responding police officers. Another person was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Kingswood Music Theatre was a 15,000-seat amphitheatre located at Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario. Kingswood was open from May to September. The facility opened in 1983. The last concert was in September 2011. Kingswood was an open-air theater with a covered bandshell and exposed lawn seats for the audience.On August 18, 1986, the reunion of Canadian folk duo Ian & Sylvia was filmed at Kingswood by CBC Television, with guests Gordon Lightfoot, Judy Collins, Emmylou Harris and Murray McLachlan. After the Molson Amphitheatre opened in 1995 and Air Canada Centre opened in 1999 the use of Kingswood as a music venue declined. Cultural festivals at the theatre became more prominent. The box office at the gates of Wonderland was removed because of the decline of the theatre as a music venue. Many notable artists and bands have played the concert venue, including Harry Belafonte, Johnny Mathis, Eric Clapton, John Denver, Bette Midler, Donna Summer, Laura Branigan, David Lee Roth, Grateful Dead, The Fugees, Cypress Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, Simple Minds & The Smiths. Canadian rock musician Kim Mitchell, won an award for ticket sales of over 100,000 tickets for his performances at the venue. Flight Deck is a steel inverted roller coaster located at Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. It originally opened in 1995 under the name Top Gun until it was renamed in 2008 to Flight Deck, after Paramount Parks sold Wonderland to Cedar Fair which necessitated the gradual removal of all Paramount names and trademarks from the theme park.

Maple Airport was a small airfield in the Township of Vaughan (now a city) in York Region, Ontario, Canada that was open from 1955 until 1987. The airport, established by Marion Alice Orr, one of Canada's first women pilots, consisted of two runways in an X pattern; 3,700 feet (1,100 m) and 2,500 feet (760 m). The early runway were grass strip and paved over in 1960. At one point, the Maple Airport was the third-busiest private commercial and civilian airport in Canada not to have a control tower. The urbanization of Vaughan and the Maple area led to the closure of the airport in 1987. Nothing remains of the airport today, which is now the site of a housing development and Le Petite Prince Catholic Elementary School. A small park in the neighbourhood, on Avro Road, was named Maple Airport Park in honour of the former airport.

Time Warp (formerly Tomb Raider: The Ride) is a flying roller coaster operating at Canada's Wonderland. It opened on May 2, 2004. It is the only rollercoaster in the world that was themed after the Tomb Raider franchise. After the removal of Tomb Raider themed rides at Kings Island and Kings Dominion it is now the only ride left in existence to be themed after the Tomb Raider franchise.

Wonder Mountain's Guardian (also known as Guardian or WMG; during Halloween Haunt known as Zombies 4D) is a 4D, interactive dark ride roller coaster at the Canada's Wonderland amusement park located in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Park management first proposed a dark ride located inside Wonder Mountain around 2004. Technology and budget limitations at the time delayed the project's planning and design stages until 2011. The steel track was manufactured by ART Engineering; it is approximately 304.8 metres (1,000 ft) long and has a maximum height of about 18.3 metres (60 ft). The ride also features one of the largest drop tracks in the world reaching a height of 9.1 metres (30 ft). Triotech designed the ride's interactive 3D animations, which are accompanied by other special effects such as wind, adding the fourth dimension. During the park's Halloween Haunt event in October, the animations are replaced with zombie-themed effects. Delays during construction delayed the ride's opening until May 24, 2014; three weeks after the 2014 season began. Guardian was inspired by the dragon in Thunder Run—another roller coaster located in the mountain area of the park—and Starlight Spectacular—a nightly light-and-sound show focused on Wonder Mountain.

Psyclone is a 23 metres (75 ft) ride at Canada's Wonderland. On May 5, 2002, this Mondial ride was opened to the public at the park. The 1 minute and 54 second ride features 40 seats facing outwards which rotate from a central pendulum as the ride reaches its maximum arc angle of 120 degrees. Even though the ride height is 23 metres (75 ft), when the ride reaches the top of its swing, the height becomes 37 metres (121 ft) high.

Behemoth is a steel roller coaster located at Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario. Designed and developed by Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), Behemoth opened to the public in May 2008 as the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Canada, a claim it held until 2012 when Leviathan opened at the same park. Behemoth is similar to Diamondback (Kings Island), Intimidator (Carowinds), Goliath (La Ronde) and Nitro (Six Flags Great Adventure). With its high speeds, tall heights and rapid changes in both direction and elevation, Behemoth is one of the most aggressive thrill rides in the park. It is also one of the park's most efficient, able to maintain a high hourly passenger capacity.The ride features a prototype seating arrangement to ensure an unobstructed view for every rider – a first for a roller coaster of this type. The ride lasts for approximately three minutes and subjects the rider to a maximum speed of 124 km/h (77 mph), achieved in less than 3.9 seconds. It features five air-time hills, a hammerhead turn and two helixes.

Sledge Hammer is a ride at Canada's Wonderland. The Huss ride was opened to the public on May 4, 2003, and continues to operate today. Sledge Hammer is also the world's first and only 'giant jumping machine'. The ride has had serious mechanical issues, causing repeated closures.

Starlight Spectacular is a nightly sound-and-light show at Canada's Wonderland. It takes place at the theme park's International Street at approximately 10:00 pm during the regular park season. The show was introduced to the theme park in 2011 to celebrate its 30th anniversary. It has also played during the 2012, 2016, and 2019 regular park seasons. Canada's Wonderland stated that the total cost for the opening season was approximately one million dollars with 16 million different colours and 300,000 LED lights. Wonder Mountain, the primary symbol of the park, is the focus of the show as lighting effects are projected onto its surface with many colours and 3D effects. The show was created and designed by Tantrum Design for its first two seasons, with subsequent work by the park's production team in cooperation with the companies that supplied new lighting and fountain equipment.

Orbiter (formerly known as Sol Loco) was a HUSS SkyLab at Canada's Wonderland in Ontario, Canada. The ride opened in 1981 for the park's first operating season. The ride closed in 2006 and was partially dismantled but was re-built and re-opened later that season following the sale of Paramount's amusement park chain to Cedar Fair. The ride last operated during the 2018 season and has been completely dismantled and removed as of February 2019.

The Mighty Canadian Minebuster (often shortened to Minebuster) is a wooden roller coaster located at Canada's Wonderland amusement park in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada.
