Blue Mountain (ski resort)

The Craigleith Heritage Depot is a museum, library, tourism and community hub serving The Blue Mountains, Ontario in partnership with The Town of The Blue Mountains Public Library and is the last remaining station standing on Canada's first long-line railroad. It is located on the corner of Highway 26 and Grey Road 19 on the south side of Georgian Bay. Erected in the 1880s, the Craigleith Heritage Depot was originally a train station called Craigleith Station, then a restaurant called The Depot, currently it is a museum and an adjoined public library. Displays in the museum showcase the history of the Petun First Nations, Craigleith Station, Blue Mountain Pottery, the Township of Collingwood, the Mary Ward (ship), fossils found in Craigleith, the local apple industry, Craigleith Oil Works, Osler Castle, local war memorabilia, and old newspaper articles. Some of the many exhibits currently in storage include Canada's largest private collection of railroad documents and one of the world's largest cigar-band collections.

CKCB-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 95.1 MHz in Collingwood, Ontario, with an adult contemporary format branded on-air as 95.1 The Peak FM. The station began broadcasting in 1965 on 1400 kHz, until it moved to its current frequency in 1994. The station went through different ownerships over the years and in 2000 was acquired by Corus Entertainment. The original on-air personality, who signed on CKCB at a community reception held at the Collingwood Shriner's Hall on the evening of Tuesday October 12, 1965 was Jim Craig, who went on to enjoy a successful Radio and TV career in SW Ontario and Western Canada prior to moving into teaching. Currently, he is a Professor of Broadcast Studies with the faculty of the Seneca College School of Media at York University in Toronto. Rosemarie Hergott-Henderson and Bob Robinson (Sales) rounded out the sign-on staff of CKCB, and Bill Bramah joined as an announcer after 6 months, and later became well known as host of Global TV's "Bill Bramah's Ontario" and as an historical author. Longtime broadcaster and former morning man John Nichols started at CKCB in 1971. John has received countless awards for his years of service to the Southern Georgian Bay area and he's active with many community organizations. He retired in December 2012.

CFRH-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 88.1 FM in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Owned and operated by the Radio-Huronie cooperative, it is a non-profit French-language community radio station for the region's Franco-Ontarian community.

CFMO-FM (Classical 102.9) is a radio station broadcasting a classical music format on 102.9 MHz FM in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. The station is owned by ZoomerMedia, through licensee MZ Media Inc. It is largely a semi-satellite of ZoomerMedia's CFMZ-FM 96.3 in Toronto.

Craigleith Provincial Park was established in 1967 by Ontario Parks. It is a recreation-class provincial park created to help preserve historic oil shale beach. Craigleith Provincial Park is a small park located between Collingwood and Thornbury (10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of Collingwood) on the southern shores of Georgian Bay.

Georgian Peaks is a private alpine ski resort located on the Niagara Escarpment just outside Thornbury, Ontario. It has the highest vertical drop of any resort in Ontario, at 820 feet (250 m), enough to allow it to host official FIS-standard slalom and giant slalom races. The hill focuses on more challenging terrain than nearby hills like Blue Mountain, featuring twenty-two named runs served by four chairlifts.The club took a direct hit from an F2 tornado during the Central Ontario and GTA Tornado Outbreak, August 20, 2009. The damage was substantial, but the club was fully repaired and operational for opening day.

The Blue Mountains is a town in Grey County, southwestern Ontario, Canada, located where the Beaver River flows into Nottawasaga Bay. It is named for the Blue Mountain, and hence the economy of the town is centred on tourism, particularly on the Blue Mountain ski resort and the private Georgian Peaks, Osler, Craigleith and Alpine Ski Clubs. The town was formed on January 1, 2001, when the Town of Thornbury was amalgamated with the Township of Collingwood. Thornbury is home to the architecturally unique L.E. Shore Memorial Library, named after the founding partner of the architectural practice of Shore Tilbe Irwin + Partners, and designed by the firm. During the Southern Ontario Tornado Outbreak of 2009, a tornado passed through the Blue Mountains area on August 20. The tornado passed by Thornbury and hit Craigleith before moving out onto Georgian Bay. Ravenna is the setting for the novel Ravenna Gets by author Tony Burgess.

Collingwood Shipbuilding was a major Canadian shipbuilder of the late 19th and 20th centuries. The facility was located in the Great Lakes and saw its business peak during the Second World War. The shipyard primarily constructed lake freighters for service on the Great Lakes but also constructed warships during the Second World War and government ships postwar. The shipyard was closed permanently in 1986 and the land was redeveloped into a new housing community.

The town of Collingwood, Ontario, was the first municipality in Canada to have a heritage conservation district included on the Canadian Register of Historic Places.

Collingwood is a town in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. It is situated on Nottawasaga Bay at the southern point of Georgian Bay. Collingwood is well known as a tourist destination, for its skiing in the winter, and limestone caves along the Niagara Escarpment in the summer.

Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School, also known as NPSS, is a public secondary school in Angus, Ontario. The principal is Colleen Ireland. It opened in September 2011, and currently has curriculum for Grades 9–12. The school is part of the Simcoe County District School Board. The school serves secondary school students from a number of areas such as, Essa Township, Base Borden, Community of Angus, Tosorontio,a portion of Clearview Township and the south west corner of the City of Barrie, Ontario.

Collingwood Collegiate Institute (known as CCI) is a public secondary school (grades 9–12) located in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. It currently has an enrollment of about 1399 students and employs over 80 teachers and staff. The principal is Kelly Lalonde. The school is administered by the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB). The school offers a wide range of courses and activities such as English arts, math, physical education & technology. CCI also has a fair selection of sport teams such as football, rugby & hockey. Students that attend CCI come from Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Blue Mountain and Clearview Township (Nottawa, Duntroon, Singhampton). The superintendent of the school is Greg Jacobs. (Area F schools- Essa, Clearview, Wasaga Beach & Collingwood).
