Lindsay/Kawartha Lakes Municipal Airport (TC LID: CNF4) is a registered aerodrome located 1.1 nautical miles (2.0 km; 1.3 mi) west northwest of Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. The aerodrome is home to mostly general aviation aircraft, the COPA Flight 101 Kawartha Lakes Flying Club, and maintenance and service facilities. Kawartha Lakes Aerodrome is also used by Ornge as a refueling stop, and is a popular fly-in lunch destination for pilots in central Ontario.

Cameron is an unincorporated village in the City of Kawartha Lakes, in east-central Ontario, Canada. The village has a population of approximately 221 residents. Cameron is located at the junction of Highway 35, and Kawartha Lakes Road 34, 11 km north-west of Lindsay.

The Scugog River is a river in the city of Kawartha Lakes in Central Ontario, Canada. It is in the Kawartha Lakes region, is part of the Great Lakes Basin, and is a branch of the Trent-Severn Waterway. The river flows north from the northeast end of Lake Scugog, goes under Ontario Highway 7, heads through the community of Lindsay where it passes through Trent-Severn Waterway Lock 33 and associated control dams, and reaches its mouth at Sturgeon Lake. Sturgeon Lake flows via the Otonabee River and the Trent River to Lake Ontario.

The City of Kawartha Lakes (2021 population 79,247) is a unitary municipality in Central Ontario, Canada. It is a municipality legally structured as a single-tier city; however, Kawartha Lakes is the size of a typical Ontario county and is mostly rural. It is the second largest single-tier municipality in Ontario by land area (after Greater Sudbury). The main population centres are the communities of Lindsay (population: 22,367), Bobcaygeon (population: 3,576), Fenelon Falls (population: 2,490), Omemee (population: 1,060) and Woodville (population: 718).

Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute, commonly referred to as LCVI or LC is a secondary school in Lindsay, Ontario.It is a part of the Trillium Lakelands District School Board. It was previously in the Victoria County Board of Education.

The Central East Correctional Centre (as known colloquially as the Lindsay Superjail, or simply Lindsay; French: Centre correctionnel du Centre-Est) is a medium/maximum security prison located in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Inmates in this facility manufacture licence plates for the province. It is operated by the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School is a Catholic secondary school located in the southern part of Lindsay, Ontario. It is currently the only Catholic secondary school in the City of Kawartha Lakes. The school was opened in 2000, and celebrated its 10th anniversary on March 29, 2011.There are approximately 300 students enrolled in grades 9 through 12, making it the smallest of three High Schools located in Lindsay. Students are required to wear a uniform purchased from R.J. McCarthy in navy blue, white, gold, and khaki pieces specific to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School. The school offers classes for the workplace, college and university-bound student, as well as a Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) in Health/Wellness and their brand new Agriculture Specialist High Skills Major program, introduced in 2019. A French immersion program was introduced in 2016. Advanced Placement courses are also offered. K courses are also offered at the school for students who are not achieving credits but are working towards building basic life skills, social skills and skills to prepare them for entry-level jobs in the workplace.

The Township of Fenelon was a municipality in present-day Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada. The township was named after François de Salignac de la Mothe-Fénelon (missionary) (1641–79) who was a missionary in New France, establishing a mission on the Bay of Quinte.The community of Cambray within the township was named after Cambrai in France, where François Fénelon (1651–1715), younger brother of the missionary, was archbishop.

The Township of Mariposa was a municipality located in the southwest corner of the former Victoria County, now the city of Kawartha Lakes, in the Canadian province of Ontario. The other municipal neighbours of Mariposa are Ops and Fenelon on the east, Eldon on the north, Brock on the west, and Scugog on the south, with the latter two located in the Durham Regional Municipality. The former township includes the communities of Little Britain, Manilla, Mariposa, Valentia, and Oakwood. Today, most of the former township is represented in the City of Kawartha Lakes by the Ward 8 Councillor, John Pollard, and Ward 4 Councillor Andrew Veale.

I.E. Weldon Secondary School is a public high school in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada, which teaches grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. It is operated by the Trillium Lakelands District School Board. The school contains 60 rooms for rent, over 200 classrooms, 2 gymnasiums, a fitness center (work out room), a multi-media library resource center, and specialized areas for music, drama, art, cooking, woodworking and shop. It is also home to one of the largest French immersion High School programs in Canada. There are currently 1671 children enrolled.
