Nittany Furnace, known earlier as Valentine Furnace, was a hot blast iron furnace located in Spring Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. Placed in operation in 1888 on the site of an older furnace, it was an important feature of Bellefonte economic life until it closed in 1911, no longer able to compete with more modern steel producers.

Fishermans Paradise is a fishing area in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States.Fishermans Paradise is located on the east bank of Spring Creek. The Bellefonte Fish Culture Station is located on the west bank.The area is noted for its fishing, and Spring Creek contains high concentrations of wild brown trout at this location. Fishermans Paradise once had a "ladies only" fishing area.

The State Correctional Institution – Rockview (SCI Rockview) is a Pennsylvania Department of Corrections prison located in Benner Township, Pennsylvania, 5 miles (8.0 km) away from Bellefonte. A portion of the prison grounds extends into College Township.SCI Rockview, which began construction in 1912 and was completed in 1915, was intended to replace Eastern State Penitentiary and Western Penitentiary. Instead it became a branch prison of Western housing lesser security risk prisoners employed in the extensive farm program outside the gates. Rockview is now a medium-security institution for men. Pennsylvania's execution chamber is located on the grounds of Rockview; however, there is no "death row" there. Condemned prisoners are transported to Rockview from death rows in maximum security prisons across the state several days before their scheduled execution.SCI – Benner Township was constructed adjacent to SCI Rockview in 2010.

Centre County Christian Academy (CCCA) is a private, independent, non-denominational Christian school located in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. It reported 155 students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade in the fall of 2015. CCCA was founded in 1976 by a group of local pastors. The first class consisted of 13 students in kindergarten and first grade. Additional grades were added each year and the first graduating class was in 1982. Classes are taught by fifteen staff members. The school is part of the Keystone Christian Education Association. High school students compete in soccer, basketball, and track with other schools in the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association.

The Bellefonte Forge House, also known as the John Dunlop House, is located just south of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, in Spring Township, Centre County. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, due to its connection with prominent figures in the iron industry of the early 19th century and because of its domestic architecture influenced by the Federal style.

The South Ward School is an historic, American school building that is located in Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
