Ferguson Township is a township with home rule status in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 19,009 at the 2020 census. Most of the agricultural research for Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), based in adjacent State College, Pennsylvania, is taking place at the Russell E. Larson Research Center located in the western part of Ferguson Township. The headquarters of AccuWeather are also located within the township. Ferguson Township is served by the Ferguson Township Police Department and the Alpha Fire Company for police and fire protection.

The Stone Valley Recreation Area is an outdoor recreational and educational facility that is operated by Pennsylvania State University. It is located in Huntingdon County near the village of Mooresville.

Shaver's Creek Environmental Center is located between State College and Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, in the Stone Valley Recreation Area. This is part of the Penn State Experimental Forest. The center operates on 7,000 acres (28 km2) and contains 72-acre (290,000 m2), freshwater Lake Perez. Scotia was an American village that was located in Patton Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, at 40°47′59″N 77°56′46″W. Although the community was called Scotia, the name of the local post office was Benore. (Ben is Gaelic for "mountain [of]" but further etymology of the name is unknown.)
